I seem to be out the other side and am getting more comfortable by the day. Did a LOT more today than expected, a lot of fall cleaning and tossing junk, made that pumpkin bread, put stuff away, no, it was just a really productive day overall. Wish I could eat though, I don't have nausea just not much appetite and still can't seem to tolerate a lot of textures. Oh well, ice cream for dinner for a few days it is!

Nance, I love manicotti but always wimp out and stuff large shells instead. It’s not quite the same, though.

Minus, Sometimes you just have to eat what you feel like. Carole recently made shrimp in Alfredo sauce which sounded good. Shrimp in Rotel tomatoes with garlic, green pepper, and onion on rice is quick and easy.

Carole, Good to hear that your family weathered Francine and your generator worked as it should have.

Dinner tonight was oven fried chicken breasts with asparagus and mashed potatoes.

Dinner last night was breaded pork chops and mac and cheese.

I have the old and the revised Joy of Cooking. I once used the original one as an encyclopedia of cooking knowledge.

I'm happy to report that my family survived Francine without damage to body or property. We learned from our neighbor that our house generator ran during a power outage and turned off when power was restored.

Happy Friday. It was raining this morning when I got up. I had no idea is was forecast, but we did need it. While most of the yard is fine (not too dried out) there were some patches showing. It hasn't been so extreme as in past years so a lot more green than usual, but those small patch area did have that dry, dusty look to them. Glad we got a nice drink of water outside. Late afternoon and still only 76 (a bit humid likely though) out of doors.

I'm thinking about all of you and hope you have a wonderful day.

Tanya - Thanks so much! I go every 3 months, and I've been doing that now for about 15 months (since I started this Faslodex and Verzenio). Interesting, one of the techs was trying to be positive for me and she said, "Oh, you come every 3 months, and that'll be going to every 6 mos now, right?" I told her I sure hope so. Yours and Mel's schedules give me hope.

So nice that you could spend some time with your grandson. He will remember and treasure these times with you whether you are "up to the challenge" or not. It's just the being with you that matters.

Well Im glad I read back to my notes in the thread from the first infusion because bang on schedule like last time my hip feels like its ready to separate from my body its so swollen or.. something. I dunno whats going on in there but I was having big problems this morning getting that pain under control and in moving the hip in certain directions is still difficult without additional help. I thought perhaps it was due to having lymph massage two days ago but no, I think this gets to be my lovely side effect. Here I was thinking I needed to email pain control again about upping meds and I see I said that last infusion too and I ended up having that call to find out ways to reduce my painkillers. Ok well good to know cause once that passed I was doing a lot better. (For future me, today is Day 10, leg started having muscle and bone pain on Monday, Day 6)

Ill talk to MO about possibly not having dex post infusion next time. I remember I had it post radiation in November and felt great then the pain came on similar to this. Its frustrating but if I know it passes in a day or two and can come up with some strategies for management then great. I wouldnt have thought four days of low dose (8mg) dex would cause steroid withdrawl symptoms but I dunno, kinda all fits with what Ive experienced the last few days.

My new sheepskin slippers arrived and I have it on my good foot as my legs are elevated. So comfy and not overly hot like socks! At least that was something nice to happen!
