Re: August 2024 Surgery Support thread
@eileenmk64 I'm glad to hear your surgery went well. That is great that it's not in your lymph nodes and they got good margins. Congratulations!
My surgery went well my doctor said. Pathology will take a week but she said she felt like she got great margins. She took the cancerous lymph node and there were two more under that one that she didn't like the look of so she took those too. We aren't sure exactly how many she took because they were clumped together. Hopefully we will find that out in final pathology. I got to go home same day and I am managing my pain with Tylenol and ibuprofen.
Re: how about drinking?
Today was a trip to the craft store about 20 minutes from where I am. Got material to make curtains for winter for a window that won’t fit any of the curtains I brought from the old house. Hubby spotted the material the last time we were there.
Re: I say YES. YOU say NO....Numero Tre! Enjoy!
Ah, ladies. How stupidity doth flourish. I find myself sometimes amazed and sometimes not since all of the Reps. and their orange leader are seemingly quite dain bramaged now. It is evident that they avoid REAL news and certainly anything that is upright, and truthful.
It is almost like they went back to fairy tales (plenty of the kind that has ogres in them) and can't now escape. Truth is so foreign to them they don't even attempt real recognition. They glance long enough to figure out how to twist and manipulate and away they go. I'm not sure what leads them to believe that what they do and say now is a 'winning' strategy. Just mystified and daily it seems the big guys (who aren't all that at all) step right in it and then can't get it off them for heck. They then take these things and double down trying to clean it up and it actually ends up worse. One of the reasons Arlington is being carried on their shoulders now and I hope it stays there quite heavily.
I'm very incensed since my family loved the service, and I spent some time as a service member myself. It is not something that I'll easily forgive, if ever. The latter is likely the truest. Then again, Vance is such a Loon puppet, so eager to clean up whatever aisle the Loon has used lately that he puts himself in the same very ugly place as his orange master. May you both rot where it's hot.
Re: Calling all TNs
@dawn68 I loved Radical Remission, a friend recommended it. Lots to love and lots to question, agreed. But at the end of the day - it’s all about the joy and laughter, and enjoying life to aid the healing process. Another great book is You Can Conquer Cancer by Ian Gawler, lots in there to love too! Ok, now time to pack 🥳
Re: Calling all TNs
@trishyla1 Thank you so much for coming back on & letting us know how you are doing! Very encouraging. So wonderful all the milestones you've been able to celebrate and I am sure many more to come.
@pinkone501 I concur you should be fine to work on Carbo/Taxol. Since you start on a Monday, if you are going to get it, fatigue will probably hit Friday & the weekend. Enjoy your family reunion & don't worry about your chemo too much, it is very doable.
@rlschaller enjoy your wedding! Joy & laughter is good for the healing process.
Sadly I have a large list of friends and acquaintances diagnosed with some form of cancer — 5 of them in our new town we just moved to 18 months ago! One of them recommended the book Radical Remission. I downloaded the audio book to listen to while gardening. Though I may be skeptical about some of it, there was some good points on things, in addition to traditional medicine, that support our healing process… like the chapters on finding joy and laughter and having strong reasons to live. So party it up at your weddings & family reunions ! 😁
4 days into Xeloda and all is well. I feel like I need to go to bed at 8 pm but other than that no side effects yet.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
Re: Starting Chemo May and June 2024 Support Thread
@bailey.boo I think different infusion centers have different protocols on the bell. I've read that some don't have a bell at all because hearing the ringing has an adverse effect on patients who are still enduring chemo. I want to ring the bell when I'm done with chemo (3 more months). And I'll still have a DMX and radiation to deal with after chemo.
Ladies, I feel for you with the hot flashes! I went into menopause naturally, in my mid 40's. It was miserable! You can't plan for the hot flashes; they just attack whenever. I just knew I was going to self-combust at any moment.
Have a wonderful weekend!
