May today's election results unleash the blue tide on the POS that is governing us currently. Fingers crossed that we can be heard and represented again. VOTE, VOTE, VOTE.
Re: Can we have a forum for "older" people with bc?
Still playing catch-up, but have gotten cruise clothes put away except for 2 "dressy" night tops that I want to hand wash before storing. One more trip upstairs will deal with ironed clothes, I have moved gifts to DD's closet, and took care of returning DD's ring for repairs. She lost one of the diamonds and it is covered by a lifetime warranty. Just waiting for shipping instructions now.
Saw dermatologist for annual skin cancer check and I am good for another year. Next week is pulmonology appointment.
This weekend is (U of) Penn's homecoming and we have tickets for the football game. We are seated on the shady side in the arena so I am hoping the weather warms up some. I plan on dressing like an onion, but the chill can still get you. I love going and visiting the various open houses with free food. We also like to hit the Penn Bookstore to see what they have to offer in new clothing. I already have zippered sweat jackets, a lighter weight jacket, tees, cup holder liners for my car, and hats, so I usually don't get anything, but might pickup something for the grandkids. Now that I can walk so much better, it will be easier to walk all over the campus, which I really enjoy.
It is so windy that it makes it feel like winter rather than 52 degrees. I wore a fleece jacket when I went to the doctor and the wind went right through it. Then I see an older woman with a walker with no jacket on and bare arms! I wondered where her coat was.
Want to finish up straightening up the cruise debris/leftovers and DD's room which sometimes becomes a dumping ground. DH's closet had a problem from condensation from the A/C in the attic so it had to be taken apart and his clothes are all over the place. The guy who started the repair work needs to wait for the HVAC people to finish their piece, so he can finish the closet repair. He also just had neck fusion surgery, so I do think he should hold off until he's healed a bit more. So we are in a holding pattern until we get feedback from the HVAC people. He purchased the Rubbermaid shelves and I need to see if there is adequate hanger clearance. We had looked at it several years ago, but the closet is narrow in depth and there wasn't enough clearance. I'll go check these out.
cindyny, I am busy, but cannot hold a candle to you when it comes to how much you can accomplish in one day. Safe travels, and as far as SO, when my DF would try to be the driver, or was criticizing my driving, I would remind him he could be put into the trunk. It worked, lol. You probably have the trunk packed to the gills so it may not work in your case, but you could threaten with a bus ticket.
Chris, thanks for blurb on Tippy. I missed hearing about him.
House smells of oil, so had DH check out heater and it is not the issue. Checked garage and yup, smell is from there. The gas can he insists on keeping there, spilled. So garage doors are open to dissipate smell. UGH!
Hope everyone ahs a great day and waving "hi" to everyone.
Re: Lets Post our Daily Exercise
Every time I go to the grocery store, or Walmart, I'm buying extra food for the local food pantry.
