Cindy - excellent photos. We visited DC with our son when he was in 5th grade and really enjoyed it. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

Betrayal - sorry to hear there are limited options for your back spasms. I can understand the concern the impact of steroids on blood sugar levels. Last year when I took copious amounts of dexamethasone for chemo, my A1C jumped into pre-diabetes territory but fortunately went back down to normal this year.
Sandy - sounds like significant progress is being made with the boxes - you have handled this like a champ!
Taco - I get what you mean about being bored talking with friends. We have a get together coming up in few weeks with our college friends. We’ve known each other for almost 50 years and a few of us are friends from high school. It does seem that conversations get repetitive. Many of my friends have grandchildren and a few are very involved in the grandkids lives as they are providing daycare or overnight care several times per week. Sometimes the grandchildren also join our get togethers. The kids are adorable but typically the grandparents are focused on the children so they can’t join the adults conversation. Beyond that it seems the talk focuses on health issues which I don’t care for as I enjoy time not thinking about getting older and frailer.

Hi all, an update for those who may be interested. I have multiple bone mets but there are three in particular that are quite large and two which are causing significant pain and are at risk of fracture due to the invasive nature. I met with radiation oncologist yesterday and he wants to fast track 5 days of rads to two of the bone mets (hip and SI joint), he doesn’t want to target the pelvic iliac wing area as it’s encroached into tissue and is close to rectum, etc. He made sure to tell me, this is palliative only, not a cure and of course went through the risks. I’m hoping I get some pain relief. I’ve searched the BCO topics and it seems most people do get relief from rads to bone Mets. I’m praying I am one of them. On another note, I won’t know if the Kisqali isn’t truly working until after the next CT in Oct (at least that’s what the MO said at my visit last Friday). Sending kind thoughts to all.

Bookworm hope all goes well with your pet scan. I have 2 and they alway leave me wondering. Hope you have clear answer. I had my liver ultrasound it was pretty quick so I think everything was ok since they didn’t take long.

Labeled "right lung biopsy" are multiple tan, hemorrhagic soft tissue cores, 0.2 to 1.1 cm. Cold ischemic time unknown. Fixation time is more than 6 hours and less than 72 hours. 3ns
MICROSCOPIC EXAMINATION:
Microscopic examination performed.
DIAGNOSIS:
Lung, right, needle biopsy:
- Bronchial mucosa with moderate chronic inflammation.
- Lung parenchyma without pathologic diagnosis (SEE COMMENT) - No granulomas or malignancy.
COMMENT:
Clinical and radiographic correlation regarding sampling adequacy is recommended.
The only think that makes me wonder is the comment. What are they recommending? I think this is a good report.

I was diagnosed in 2018 and am thrilled to report that I just finished my course of Tamoxifen and feel like I'm really "done" now. Like so many of us, I don't go on here much any more, but I'm so grateful for this site.

My Update—6 years post diagnosis
Hi Friends:
I thought I’d post a update on myself 6 1/2 years after my stage 1, grade 1 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma diagnosis. I chose to only have surgery. I did not go on hormone blocking drugs. I chose not to have radiation. I’m doing very well!
What was my treatment plan post cancer? I try to eat as plant based as I can. I stay active. Try to distress as much as possible and treasure each day of life.
I continue to be followed by my medical oncologist (even tho I’m not on any meds). My screening breast ultrasounds, mammogram, and periodic MRI are done every 6 months. I may start going to yearly screenings.
I'm being followed by a naturopathic doctor as well for my bioidentical hormone treatment. This was started awhile ago (about 3 months ago). This doctor cleared my hormone treatment plan through my medical oncologist. I currently use low dose bioidentical estrodiol patch and oral bioidentical progesterone. I had also been on bioidentical dhea but have stopped taking that. Bioidentical testosterone will probably be added in the future. We are still working on getting my hormone levels to where they should be. But this has helped me. Progesterone really helps with sleep. It’s wonderful! I’m feeling almost back to my pre menopausal self!
I just wanted to share that I am doing very well. For those of you here who have supported me in the past…thank you for your support! I’m so thankful for this forum. I will continue to hang out at this forum as I have time. I’m blessed to also support women in my local area coordinating mobile mammography clinics.
I’d love to hear how those of you from 2017 bc dx are doing.

I almost left off two from Arlington.
Women’s memorial in Arlington.
My SO lost family at Iwo Jima so he went to the memorial while we were at Arlington. It was quite a hike, outside the cemetery on the north side. But worth it, as he got to speak to some of the vets that surrounded it.
