2017 BC Diagnosis…how are you doing?
Hello Friends:💐
It’s been awhile since I’ve checked in. I’m curious how my 2017 friends are doing. Have you had a recurrence? Is all going well? I’d love to know how everyone from 2017 is doing.
I’m doing well. This site has been a huge support to me and I just want to thank you all again for your support.
I look forward to hearing how everyone is doing. Have a wonderful day!
Re: how about drinking?
Good Morning, Loungettes! Happy Thirsty Thursday! This week is flying by really fast. Tuesday Mom and I drove to August to pick up her Real ID, so that's taken care of (as long as she doesn't lose it between now and the trip!). The next challenge is getting Mom packed, starting with finding her suitcase . . . On a hopeful note, Mom has an appointment to look at an apartment that is opening up in the facility she wants to get into next week. It's a 2 bedroom, and the rent is $1k per month more than a one bedroom, but if she can get it I would be very happy. People on the "priority waiting list" (people who paid $2,500 to get put on the waiting list) have until Oct 9th to express interest. I'm not sure how they decide who gets the apartment after they get a list of interested potential residents, but I guess we'll find out.
I had a CPR renewal class yesterday, was supposed to have 6 students, only had 2. It's become a pattern that an office will say they have 4, 5, or 6 people needing recertification but only 1 or 2 show up. I've been charging per recertification, but I’m going to switch over to a block time approach, since I need 3 recertifications to make it worth my while to lug all my gear and drive to the offices. I know from working in health care that things come up and not everyone can always make it to something like this and I am willing to work with people to get the recertifications done, but sitting in a room doing nothing for 3 hours is boring and not really what I got into this for.
Teka--that desert looks amazing! I had a salted caramel bread pudding a la mode for dessert recently that was as incredibly yummy as that picture looks!
Karen--I live the way you and DD are counting days to the wedding! Enjoy your holiday!
Jazzy--I imagine the opening chaos is at the peak right about now. It sounds like the Ruidoso area is struggling through a really rough time. Glad you enjoyed the Dianne Reeves concert, too. I bet the balloon fiesta is both hated and loved, if it's anything like how the locals feel about the summer tourism in Bar Harbor. Love the money, hate the crowds. Can’t wait to see the pictures.
Morning, Minus!
Carole--warm days and cool nights here, too, which means the trees will start changing color soon. Not sure how much color we'll get this year due to the drought conditions.
Re: Can we have a forum for "older" people with bc?
Permanence, perseverance and persistence in spite of all obstacles, discouragements, and impossibilities: It is this, that in all things distinguishes the strong soul from the weak.

Betrayal, we used Viator in DC for the night tour. And we’ve used them for some other trip I can’t remember where.
The play was great, highly recommend seeing it if you can. It’s Neil Diamond's life story told through his therapy sessions, and around his songs. It was like a concert, very enjoyable. Our dinners were delicious too.
I had the tooth pulled this morning. It was done before I knew it. Extraction, bone graft with my platelets mixed in, and a mouth full of stitches. Minimal soreness, took Advil. The Xanax worked well, no stress and I slept on and off most of the afternoon. Only thing I didn’t plan for was eating cold soft foods. Lunch was yogurt and cottage cheese, dinner was more yogurt. I have to sleep propped up, no laying flat tonight. Taking the antibiotic as prescribed. My follow up is 10/9.
I need to shower and get in my jammies. I’ve been in my robe and fleece pants since getting home. It rained, rained and rained some more today. We were in a drought but so much over a few days is crazy. I’ll keep an eye on my basement , ugh.
Petite, I’m glad you were back to your cabin to enjoy it!
Carole, times ticking for your trip back to LA. Safe journey, if I forget to say it later.
Sandy, use the good stuff. Life’s too short to save it. (Erma Bombeck said it I believe)
Harley, sad to know the pool will be gone but I’m hoping they get it done before you leave on your trip. That way upon your return it’s but a memory. Crazy with the permitting.
