Re: Need advice on ice/cold caps and ice gloves/ socks
I got the NatraCure brand off Amazon and they worked well. I had a second set of inserts to change out halfway through. I wore thin cotton gloves that I bought in the pharmacy section of Walgreens and thin socks (just ones I already owned) underneath the frozen ones to protect against frostbite. I did develop a slight bit of neuropathy but nothing painful and it never affected my abilities, so I guess the ice gloves/socks did their job. I did not cold cap, so I can't speak to that.
Re: So...whats for dinner?
minus, there’s plenty of rain here this summer. I was after warmth and I got it.
Re: So...whats for dinner?
Mae - so basically good news. Wish we could have offered you some rain. Everything is close to dead here. Our 'horticulture' is based on frequent rain and not 'desert' conditions.

My new passport arrived today. It was one week from application to arrival. I am impressed and astounded! :-) I also carry a passport card in my wallet. Oddly enough, my USDHHS ID is not "real ID" compliant.
There is one buffet we go to. They do a great job at keeping things clean and we go when it's not crowded. The other places…I think they are too noisy.
Re: Can we have a forum for "older" people with bc?
I spent the day doing odds and ends. Laundry was my biggest event. Ha! The spot where the tooth was pulled seems fine, the other two teeth it was between sort of ache if touched. I assume as it was pulled they were used as leverage. I’ll be fine over time.
Our electric & gas supplier, National Grid, came by and changed both meters today. They no longer will have someone drive by, now it will all be transmitted electronically back to billing. Our electricity went off with 8-10 minutes left of my soap opera, Y&R. It’s recorded on my DVR in Florida so I was able to pull it up on my phone to see the ending. But I had to laugh because I didn’t have the tv on all day, and when I did is when they replaced the meter.
Did I already tell you about getting on the flight in DC? I had checked my luggage but my SO wanted his with him. As we neared to board they wanted to tag it to go under the plane. I said - we have drugs in there. Lots of drugs! The agent didn’t skip a beat, just asked if we had to take any during the flight. My niece and grandniece were laughing like crazy - Aunt Cindy telling them she’s carrying drugs.
I believe we’re heading to the Big E (multi state fair) tomorrow afternoon. It won’t be as much fun for me, having to watch what I eat and rinse with warm salt water after eating. I’ll have to be content to people watch.
Enjoy the weekend!

Today I choose life. Every morning when I wake up I can choose joy, happiness, negativity, pain... To feel the freedom that comes from being able to continue to make mistakes and choices - today I choose to feel life, not to deny my humanity but embrace it.
Re: 20 years cancer free and and now recurrence
I can’t tell you how inspiring and comforting your post has been to me. I’m reeling. I know I will find my footing once the diagnosis is made and a treatment plan is in place. For now, the waiting and fear is excruciating.💗
