Hi, hello, mighty good to "see" so many of you. Mel, I'm sorry you have little energy to deal with so much. I pray you find some happier moments to share with your sweet Gabbie and the rest of the family. Theo needs a hello and pat on the head from me, too.
I'm so very happy to report that I "did" it. Ok, what did I do? Gardening half an hour, no backache. Too hot though, so had to quit. Went back at it a bit later moving planters and laying mulch with DH. Another half an hour and no backache. Pushed my luck to shop with DD and DGD, which I truly do not enjoy and sure enough came home tired, but no backache. I hope the meds last for sometime to come. I'll get that front yard looking great soon. It's been raining and we are flooding. Nothing too severe, but on the look out for T.S. Imelda.
Cookie, I am sorry to hear of your MIL heading into hospice. What a sweetheart she must be to have been loved by you and your mentioning how much you'll miss her. Not everyone has such a great relationship and lovely things to say about in-laws. I never had the chance to meet mine, but I just know I would have loved them as they did a great job with their son.
Sending my thoughts to all these lovely gals and in pockets for all your needs.

I used to take refuge in Jesus and in my Quaker back ground, and Jesus still makes my heart lighter. Buddhism has brought me great understanding about life that I didn't have before I started being a "lamp unto myself," and looking and reading and trying to be mindfully awake to my life. I am grateful for these traditions that have taught me to love my fellow creatures and people on this earthly journey we all share. It makes me weep with compassion to know we journey together. To love is to jump ship from self and move to the other shore.

I heard from SIL, they will likely be here after dinner. I decided to get anotherburger meal, junior chicken and mcdouble no pickles. Wanted a quick meal to give time for me to be available for DB. Hope he brings a son with him to help him get it in.

Hey ladies, catching up today. Been a crazy week as now my mil has entered hospice. She is ready to meet her maker and we are trying to keep her at peace.I was always blessed to have the sweetest mil around and I will surely miss her.
@chicagoan Agree with all here that dismissive attitude seems a bit blase' and I'm definitely not a fan of it. These doc's need to be on the other side of the scalpel to fully understand. Nevertheless we are all in your pocket for this hip journey to go smoothly. hugs.

@katg , So good to hear from you! We’ve been there from the start of these groups and I enjoy seeing you and hearing how you are doing. You have certainly had a wild ride and carried it with grace and humor. You are a warrior!
I’ve gotten my back pain under control and I’m focusing on strengthening my core and getting more exercise in general. My MO has convinced me to stay on the letrozole as the studies show that it is the most effective for my circumstances. I just passed the 3 year mark last month (not subtracting my vacation). I look at that tiny brown pill every night and think “I made it through another day and this is one less pill I’ll have to take.” One day at a time, one more chance to live and love the best I can. I am grateful for the science that gives me a fighting chance. I am strong and I can endure what this fight throws at me. I don’t walk this path alone. I’m reminded of that every time I see one of the original gals in group!

We harvested another 5 pounds of tomatoes today, so we went to work and "canned" 10 pints of stewed tomatoes. Blanching, peeling, coring and cutting up 20 pounds of tomatoes sure does make a mess.
Everything is cleaned up and the pressure canner is cooling down as I type this.
Sharon is getting used to both water bath and pressure canning, and is greatly enjoying it.
I married well. :-)

DH is an expert at setting mouse traps and deciding where to put them. I guess the five years he spent doing research with them gave him insight into how they behave. A cat is the best solution IMO but now we only have the neighbor’s cat who comes to visit.
Illimae, I haven’t been able to drink for a long time but I still really miss moscato. I hope you enjoyed your movie.
Dinner tonight was Austrian chicken in cranberry/apple sauce on German noodles.

Dinner tonight is fettuccine chicken florentine in Alfredo with a hunk of French bread and a glass of moscato.
Popcorn and a horror movie to complete my night.

We enjoyed a fall in Vermont back in 1969, the year we got married. The color was gorgeous.
I had my leftover walleye chunks, battered and deep-fried, for lunch yesterday. It tasted delicious a second time with some homemade tartar sauce.
For dinner last night we had a bowl of corn chowder from the freezer and salsa chicken with black beans cooked in the grill/oven. I do enjoy that combination of chicken, salsa and black beans topped with sour cream. I didn't have any shredded cheddar.
In packing up grocery items yesterday, I discovered we've had a mouse visitor who got into a box of Spanish rice-a-roni and a package of two pizza crusts. I set a trap in the now-empty cabinet but no captured mouse this morning.
