Re: So...whats for dinner?
Wally, Good to hear your DH has finished rads. My neighbor just blew 6” of snow off our driveway With another 4 inches falling tomorrow afternoon there would be some left for you to shovel, lol.
Carole, Beef, veggie noodle soup sounds perfect for a snowy night (or a winter night in the South.)
Rhonda, Enjoy baking and reading as you watch snow flurries fall.
Dinner tonight was shrimp in a creamy fire roasted tomato sauce on rice.

Leftover salmon for dinner last night. I think tonight will be yakisoba noodles with cut up costco hotdogs as the meat.
My oven also has convection and I've never used it, LOL. For the reason Carole mentioned, I like that the air fryer corrals the grease splatter. If I plan to "air fry" a big quantity, I do it in the oven (I'll have to try convection). I will say that doing those duck breasts in the air fryer was magical. I'll never do it any other way. I've taken frozen bacon, still frozen, tossed it in there and it was great…That does need tending so you can keep moving the pieces around. I microwave potatoes, let them cool, then cut them and oil them/season and put them in the air fryer, and that is a huge win. I've also make "crunchy" tofu, which was tasty but not crunchy. I've made roasted broccoli, which I loved but DH, not so much.
DH's treatment ended yesterday. They sent him home with the "mask" they make to hold his head steady. He joked it would be great for a halloween costume (think hannibal lechter). Sadly, his PSA is going up….whack-a-mole.
Minus, glad to hear you are feeling better.
Rhonda, I also love red lentils. They cook up fast, make a thick "sauce/soup/etc.) and for people who do not like the "earthy" taste of lentils, these are winners.
Sadly, I will be mowing the lawn this week….SO wish I were shoveling.
Re: So...whats for dinner?
I don't "love" my air fryer. I actually love my skillet. I'm using the air fryer to cut down on calories and try a different method of cooking that may be healthier. I bought it when air fryers were all the rage and used it a while. One plus is no grease spatter on the stove top from pan frying. And you don't have to stand by the air fryer and "tend" it. Oven frying is very similar. Wally, maybe you could give your thoughts on this subject. And anyone else who uses an air fryer. My oven has an air fryer function, which means convection oven function. High heat and a fan equals air fryer.
With all that said, I "air fried" two breaded catfish fillets last night for our dinner. The side was supposed to be broccoli but was box mac and cheese. I assigned dh the job of making the mac and cheese. He got a little flustered but did a good job. Catfish has a big water content. They were quite a bit smaller by the time they were brown and crispy.
I'm thinking I'll make soup today. Maybe beef and veggie with noodles, using cubed beef in the freezer.
Re: So...whats for dinner?

Re: Can we have a forum for "older" people with bc?
It has finally warmed up and it is a pleasant day. I had planned to go to NC next week, but it looks like it will have several days at single digit temperatures. I sent a text to the contractor, but he hasn't responded. I will try again about 5.
I went to chair yoga and now my lower back hurts, but I did go to lunch with my social group. Not much else going on.

All the great things are simple, and many can be expressed in a single word: freedom, justice, honour, duty, mercy, hope.
Re: Can we have a forum for "older" people with bc?
Just sending envious vibes to all you winter wonderland folk. I mowed the lawn today…soppy-wet-glop. 50s is just wrong for January. I'll always be a midwest gal at heart. Celebrate your winter!

I suppose that every one of us hopes secretly for immortality; to leave, I mean, a name behind him which will live forever in this world, whatever he may be doing, himself, in the next.

Chris, I’ve used a wax bath once at a gf house, it felt great fur my basic arthritis. Every morning I wet a wash cloth in the hottest water I can get out of the tap, as I wring it out to wash my face, my hands enjoy it.
Minustwo, that PM has us all wondering what we had said that indicated we needed therapy!
Harley, I don’t have enough space on my phone to update to iOS26. But SO did, so he updated his phone. It changed a lot of things, like you mentioned. At times I think he has more problems now than before. He’ll be 70!so he’s no kid.
Carole, thankful you get more than 2 hours of sleep LOL! By the way, I don’t think I’ve ever had 2 hours of deep sleep since wearing the Fitbit.
Teak, that fish dinner looks delicious. ADK caught?
I made waffles for dinner tonight. I opened a new bottle of syrup, pecan flavored sugar free from Laurel, Mississippi - a visit to Ben & Erin’s general store. A flash back memory.

Re: Can we have a forum for "older" people with bc?
Just lost a long post and not sure what happened. Not going to try to repeat contents except to say that I was working in DD's closet today and made some headway into reorganizing and purging. The right side floor was cleared and this deep pocket is on the side where the long clothing items hang. It was a perfect area for the sandals shoe boxes I have so they are stored beneath the cruise/travel clothing. I did not touch the clothes on this side.
I did do the shelves area and have donations from those contents. I started on the lower hanging area on the left and am about halfway through it. I was trying on slacks and am debating about using the heavier metal hangers vs the lighter weight flock covered ones I am using. They break so easily and now that I am paring down, I think I'll use the heavier ones. I noticed some dry cleaner bags at the very back in this area and I think they are slacks I had shortened. I'll try them on and transfer them to multi-slacks hangers if they fit. They'll take up less space and I have so many heavy hangers.
The room is a mess for the moment and will be until I get this closet finished. I did 3 loads of laundry and need to go fold towels.
cindyny, I am impressed with your DIY skills. Is the door seal affected by weather and that's why you can see daylight?
Today was sunny and cold with high in the mid 30's. Tomorrow is to be in the 50's so maybe the driveway will clear.
Waving "Hi" to everybody and hope you had a great day.
