Lifewell2 - "Age is just a number." Especially with an older spouse, you may find us a good fit. If not, keep browsing or as someone suggested, start your own group and see if it takes off. Most, but not all of us are retired. A few decided on retirement after diagnosis. We talk often about grandchildren rather than children. And a few of us talk about our pets!
Justforher - how scary. Hope you can get in to see a cardiologist quickly.
Got the CT for my knee today. Couldn't get an appointment with ortho until late in the month so expect it will be late April or May before I can have surgery. Hope it won't be the scheduling hassle the last one was - surgery didn't want to schedule until they had seen pro-ops and primary didn't want to schedule until I had a surgery date.
Be safe all of you in the storm path. And the west is going to be really hurting with a drought. We are breaking records for heat here and I fear for what the summer will be like.

Hi all… I am definitely interested in participating in a group for "older women", as our challenges, issues we face etc. are much different than women who are in the earlier chapters of life.
I am hoping that we can form a group with over 50 or over 55 Thrivers and we can have some great discussions about the challenges we face at this stage. We can be here to support, care and help one another!!!!
Also, can someone please let me know how to become part of the weekly "chat" that was mentioned earlier? It is true that some of us who are older don't have quite as much technological savvy.
I look forward to connecting and feel it is a great benefit for all of us!!

@birdsndognow , thank you for your comment. As someone who has no family history and nothing inherited or heritable per the most recent and updated genetic testing, I know that my cancers are chemical-environmentally caused (ground water poisoning growing up on AF bases that are now Superfund toxic cleanup sites) and it is very hard to accept that chemicals are going to help my situation so I know exactly where you are coming from. Thank you for all of your feedback! I just meet with a breast surgeon and have an appointment next month with a plastic surgeon. It is a lot to consider and I’m still not sure if I’ll move forward but it helps knowing others have been here.

@gailmary Wow, Gail! You have really been dealing with a lot this past year. I can relate to the sciatica pain. I’m still dealing with that right now as well, and it sure makes it difficult to be active. My first PT session last week helped for a day. I felt really good the day after. However, those muscles just tightened right back up again. So, I hope my session tomorrow improves things a bit more. As for help with sleep, I take a 1 mg Ativan every third night. That does help me to sleep and relax my muscles. I don’t want to take it every night because that’s not good and you can build up a tolerance to it. But, every third night really does help me sleep and helps with the muscles. Perhaps that might work for you?
I do a lot of walking just around my house every half hour or so. Trying to get steps in. Also, I do light weights and floor exercises when I can to keep the muscles as strong as I can, despite everything.
I have no advice on the walking sticks, but perhaps someone else will chime in.

@birdsndognow - everyone has to do what feels the most comfort, but as I said (and I spoke to 2 MOs and an MO who did an extensive study on the effect of Verzenio on one’s kidneys), once I went off of Verzenio after 4 and 1/4 years, my creatinine returned to normal results and there was no damage to my kidneys.

Hello everyone. Hope tonight finds you peacefully curled up with a warm blanky and a good book! We took the covers off the outdoor plants and guess what??? You guessed it, they revised the weather forecast and tonight thru tomorrow morning we will have a few hours of below freezing. Too tired to recover and it's not going below 30, so take my chances.
Well I have some major news. I'm still in shock and not sure how to absorb this but here it goes. I am in remission!!! Unbelievable and I guess I'm accepting this with a restrained measure of acceptance. It's not like turning a switch on and off. I can't just turn off my mindset for 3 years of MBC. Also, I still have MS to deal with. It's not likely to threaten my life, but it's still a bitch to deal with. I guess I need one more scan to placate me. Next scan is in April.
I feel so blessed as it takes a lot to deal with DD and DGD. They are back due to cold weather and their camper is not suited for temperatures below 50 (no insulation). We laid down the law yesterday that DGD must go to school, use a grant and get help for her social anxiety and ADHD. Grants opened up yesterday. Lets say we were met with a whole lot of anger and mind your own business. We have a game plan with proper contacts and will secure a lawyer if we must.
Wish spring was coming sooner. I'd like to feed Phil to my dogs, well they wouldn't eat that mangy critter anyway. So maybe someone could dispute his findings. lol
