Re: Wednesday Weigh In
Down 1, still not getting to the gym as much as I would like, but at least am back to where I was. TT
Re: So...whats for dinner?
Wally I’m so sorry about your DH. That must be so difficult. Hugs to you.
My fatigue today was from staying up too late, getting up too early and a low blood sugar episode that while they don’t happen often, when they do they always wipes me out. I’ll be fine tomorrow.
Re: how about drinking?
I ordered a butt-load of boxed wine. Should arrive on Thursday.
I want to thank all of you who donated to my lark on the go-fund-me. I've asked that all the money be returned, so please look for your refunds. Just a shout-out that I appreciate you, gals.
Re: STFU (Shut the F*** UP)
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$444444444444444444, my hair kinda looked like that for the luncheon today, Matched the top. I was with a range of colors, many white to gray-----------and colors colored.-------I used about 4 color chalks. Only several compliments.
But the group wasn't used to it. Which is odd, b/c they are the Brit qroup-------this was the Xmas party. Their usual parties are pretty wild. Even if they are white hairs.
Unbenownst to me or her------a great gal name Peggy and I sat next to each other--happenstance---------she introduced her self as having a hearing loss and early stage dementia. OMG.. I'm life long hearing loss-------and understand short term memory and long term memory loss. Kept translating the table conversation to her. It was great. Even if she didn't remember it 5 or 1 minute later didn't matter. Kept her in the moment. We had lot's of laughs and asked the table what they were talking about and talked in her ear and she offered her opinion. ...........What I learned later was she would scream out at other functions----take me home etc. I told my dear friend Maureen. If this gal comes to another function------I'm there.
Peggy's 85 has a disability of hearing, dementia she announces to everyone. Why? Every word we shared was cognizant. Did show signs of repetitiveness. But the JOY I had was I kept here in the conversation at the table. COOL. VERY COOL.
Re: Contemplative practices - Affirmations, white light visualizations, healing meditations
@threetree i know, that’s why it’s a practice lol. I read recently it takes 28 days and 5 minutes a day to form a new habit. I’m going for the kindness and forgiveness habit.. I’ll keep you posted lol… 🙏
@henry994 i love a mantra Breathe practice too. So calming to quiet the mind and center with an image.
Here is a new image/ pic from the James Webb Space Telescope, dark matter. I love this one.
Re: Cats, cats, cats
Cats are so amazing! Where else can you get unconditional love and total judgement in the same moment?
Re: Can we have a forum for "older" people with bc?
I’ve covered my plants with sheets and pillowcases for the last time. (I say with fingers crossed) Today was the third morning of pulling off the sheets. First day I had to wash them all because of the sprinkler system going off. Second day no sprinkler went off and I was able to toss them in the garage to use again. Today, back in the washer they went.
I think the succulents survived, but really yet to be seen. The plant that looks worrisome is the bougainvillea. The leaves look off and so do the remaining flowers. Time will tell. The giant thorns seem fine, haha!
We were supposed to go for a wilderness walk but SO is having a sinus headache or similar. He laid down for a bit. He’s even said he probably won’t want to go out to dinner tonight. I’ll have to go to Carole’s for dinner, she’s cooking and I had nothing planned. Tee hee.
