I can’t tell you how inspiring and comforting your post has been to me. I’m reeling. I know I will find my footing once the diagnosis is made and a treatment plan is in place. For now, the waiting and fear is excruciating.💗

Update:
Had my oncologist appointment today. No change in plan. Luckily, the steroid taper wasn't a problem, so I can start Talzenna ASAP (Tuesday).
I also mentioned trials and how the second bout of pneumonitis eliminates me from most trials. He said not necessarily and that UTSW has had a few good ones open up. After Talzenna, if my liver clears up enough, I'm happy to do another trial, so he'll be looking at that too.
I told him the circumstances of the beginning of the pneumonitis and how I should've gone in on Friday, but guessed wrong on the cause. I said, "I'm 0 for a million on self-diagnosis." He said, "I don't know, I think you're pretty smart." Awww…. Guess I can let that go now. :)
I am so so so glad I switched oncologists when I did. Dr. G and I have a much better relationship than my previous oncologist. He's willing to get creative (I said that's fine with me but no Ivermectin, haha) and think outside the box and include me in decisions—something previous doc would never even consider.
I lean hard on the researchers here on this board and other groups, so thank you for all the information and experiences. I'd love an extended run on this one with a great response…here's hopin'!

@chicagoan - I'm not sure how I missed your post. Maybe we were posting at the same time? The dismissive attitude would be particularly annoying. I wonder if he thought it was no big deal because the hip replacement would resolve it. Still, not very compassionate-especially after you'd been scared into thinking it was an immediate fracture risk.
@irishlove - tip from a friend of mine - if your soup is too salty (haha - that came out as 'if your soul is too salty' first) cook a potato in it then throw away the potato . The potato absorbs the excess salt.
@mara51506 - maybe you could scramble up a few eggs and bag them up in portions in the freezer. I was thinking about that with your ground beef, too. Sometimes, when I'm cooking for just the two of us, I'll cook the whole pound of ground beef with basic seasoning, then use half and freeze half. I actually do that with pasta, too. It's nice because it makes the next meal quicker. I think you have limited freezer space, but it sucks to have to throw food away.
@goldensrbest - lol, we just cooled down to a high of 84. I hope Fall is here to stay.
@intolight - brr. I do not miss 30 degree anything.
Good news. The orthopedic called in a scrip for antibiotics. I'll see him next week as scheduled. 🙂

CT scanner broke (it wasn't me, I swear!) so just bone scan done today, CT rescheduled to next week. First time I've had to reschedule in over 5 years, so not upset. But just wasted all that anxiety over nothing, lol.
Chicagoan, I think a 4cm met is definitely something to urgently attend to! So sorry you had that blase doctor visit.

Got a call today that family room rug was clean and repaired. There were some areas of low pile from DH rubbing his feet where he would sit so in front of the couch and his recliner. It looks brand new though it's over 60 years old. I thought about replacing it, but couldn't find anything I liked and it truly is one of a kind.
DD and DSIL helped move furniture and lay the rug so the room looks complete again. The couch is as old as the rug. My mom had it custom made and the frame is a heavy hard wood. I have had it reupholstered many times but it is so comfortable. If you sit on it you don't dare recline because you will never see the end of what you are watching.
Still waiting for CT results and annoyed that they take so long. At least my index finger sore is going away.
Decorated front porch today with the fall flag, door wreath, and fall silk flowers. It was warm today, but still overcast.
DD and DSIL picked up dinner from the Greek festival sponsored at a local church. The food is always good and we get 2 meals from their generous portions.

@wren44 I had the same reaction as you when I had my port put in. Call and see if you can remove/replace it before it gets worse. Then, every time they access your port have them use the anti-allergy port tape. I think it is orange. They usually don't mind although they sometimes have to go and look for it. If they don't have it, you will be fine if it is on for only about 20 minutes. If longer, see what they are willing to do. I have had them try all sorts of things—anything is better than the rash I had to endure. I have never had a nurse complain about it in the three years mine has been in. I also either have them use a paper tape/guaze bandage once removed, or I remove the bandage as soon as I get in the car. Mine don't bleed so it is fine.

Threetree- Someone told me once, but I don't remember the situation we were discussing at the time, "just because you can do something doesn't mean you should do it". But I think of that quote when thinking about procedures like we are talking about. They did not have histotripsy when I was thinking about liver procedures, and maybe for some it is a God-send and really helps them, but just because it is something new they are doing doesn't mean it is right for all.
Keep us informed of what your doctor says and what you decide.

Well, I finally did get that appointment for late this week, and it is for this morning. The oncologist wants to discuss the scans, which showed essentially a stable situation, but most importantly he wants to talk about the liver mets treatment possibilities. The liver mets did not progress over the last 3 months, but I'm not looking forward to this discussion at all, as none of the possibilities that have been mentioned seem easy or all that actually curative. After hearing what he has to say, I will probably want to schedule the consultation appointment with the histotripsy doctor at the other hospital too. I'm not so sure the histotripsy is as great as all the hype makes it out to be, but I would like to explore that a little more before making any final decisions about treatment. I have been told that you can do a hodge-podge of a variety of these things, but none of them seem to do more than maybe buy some time; just like the drugs we take.
