Re: So...whats for dinner?
eric - it's my understanding that people in assisted living places (& for sure nursing homes) develop frequent UTIs and the facilities don't always diagnose the side effects properly. Glad they caught your MIL's
I'm very happy with my original medicare & supplemental plan - even though I have to buy a drug plan separately. Since I don't have many meds, I selected a drug plan with a zero premium. So far I've been really happy, since even the few RX drugs I've needed never cost over $2.00.
Re: So...whats for dinner?
Wally - I didn't think about freezing avocados. Do you need to add lemon juice before freezing so they don't turn brown? I hear your 'sob' on the floor. Hope all goes well.
Maggie - like Carole, I've never tried avocado soup either.
Re: So...whats for dinner?
Minus, I bought a bag of avocados from Sam's so I am in the same situation. Over blessed with avocados. Maggie, I have not eaten avocado soup.
The leftover red beans were delicious again last night. Tonight will be chicken thighs, probably oven barbecued, and sweet potatoes.
Re: So...whats for dinner?
Illimae, Your breakfast looks amazing!
Wally, The cap on prescription drug costs makes such a difference. Unfortunately this has caused an exodus of Medicare advantage and part d insurers/plans from NH for 2026. Only one of the six part d plans left covers all my meds so I’m stuck with a low rated company that tends to deny drugs that need preauthorization.
Minus, Advocado soup is a good way to use up the bag.
Dinner tonight was meatballs in Rao’s on spaghetti.
Re: So...whats for dinner?
Spaghetti tonight.
Sharon and i have made avocado toast, but nothing looking like that!
I agree on the med cost. Wow!!!!
Re: So...whats for dinner?
Our fed ex is not great but it beats flying to Arizona, though I could visit :-)
Yeah, the 2K is a "blessing" from the 17K/month. The cap means no more than 2K/year…funny how drug prices can annoy even the pharmacists. DH's initial med, aberatirone, was thousands/month (sadly, the cap back then was 5-7K) and now, you can get it for 20 bucks.
For anyone as ill-equipped to make decent hard cooked eggs as I am, I have now done my hard cooked eggs in my air fryer (3 times) and they are near perfect.
Editing: hot dogs and beans and spinach tonight
Re: So...whats for dinner?
Another drool! That breakfast makes me want it for dinner! The eggs are perfectly cooked.
Wow on the cost of that med!
Re: Can we have a forum for "older" people with bc?
I had taken the battery off my bike for the previous two nights. Yesterday I tried to put it back in, but it wouldn't slide in to the contact points. In frustration I used my cast, but finally went in and got my hammer. I used it as a wedge between the battery and the tire and FINALLY got it to slide into place.
I have an appointment for toe nail care and another to get my hair professionally washed and cut. I lost my little right toenail for the tenth time a few weeks ago. Have it taped into place so it won't disturb where it is till anchored.
Brke my budget a month ago buying some long sleve tees. They are so noce, slide over my cast so easily. Just ordered some magnet and claw necklace closures, and eager to continue sewing silk tops also to wear with the tees. Moving on to some different styles.
I convinced Tippy that he is my medicine when he curls up beside me so I can pet him. I could almost see his pride. He seems to understand the mutual help contract between dog and person. We had a break in our relationship a few months ago when I drugged himand groomed him. I think he is getting over it. Particularly since I can't groom him right now. When he goes in for dental surgery at the end of the month they will also cut out a couple of matts for me.
No apologise for the typos!!!
Re: Can we have a forum for "older" people with bc?
I spoke too soon on no injuries.
I was putting up the bracket to hold the solar panel for the Ring camera - I had pre drilled the holes, so it should be easy. The screw slipped, I pushed the Phillips head drill bit into my index finger. I now have a purple X bruise on it. I stopped everything and went inside to ice it in some cold water. Swelling has gone down, the X remains.
I can’t make this crap up. Funny, not funny. Zoom in, it’s an X. Only good thing to report is the solar panel is charging the battery, so it wasn’t for nothing. LOL
We put away some yard furniture. Still need to take down the screen house. Shooting to do it by Monday, because rain is expected by Tuesday. Plus SO still isn’t up to par, he’s had some sinus/allergy issues as well as postnasal with a cough.
I put my fall wreath on the front door and a few things up inside. Slow getting it up because I know I have to race taking it down.
Carole, I’m glad your trip home was without a hitch.
Betrayal, enjoy Lancaster.
Wren, my mom was short. I had been getting things from upper shelves for her since I was in the 5th grade.
Teka, nice welcome to October. Love the pic.
Canary, I have to up look up endometrial stripe, I’ve never heard of it. Colonoscopy, I’ve switched to Cologuard.
Sandy must be out celebrating the Chicago Cubs win. ⚾️
I’m done doing stuff today. Haha! Dinner of leftovers planned. Everyone have a great rest of your day!
