I had a hip replacement a week ago so for now my fitness is walking around in the house and doing my PT exercises. Yesterday I felt triumphant to be able to take my garbage out to the alley out back and to also go downstairs to my basement for a shower. Baby steps. But I remember Z encouraging those who were walking with an oxygen tank down their driveways. We each have to start where we are and keep moving. I look forward to again being able doing a hike like Tougholdcrow's or in the short term, being able to get in the car and go to the grocery store!

I am feeling a lot better now and have more range of movement in the arm on the side of the breast cancer. They say there are no new growths even though still swelling in my breast and they don't know why but it is not going away. So oddly enough the breast I had the cancer in is larger than my normal breast. I have a lot of scar tissue from the radiation but it is finally all healed up. I also got my first post-chemo haircut. Oddly enough, NO gray hair! My brothers noticed this as we all had some and they are younger than me.
I will attach a photo if I can of my hair as long as it got once it started growing back and how it looks now after the haircut. Don't mind the crooked smile. It is not a face I am making but like that because of previous Bell's Palsy I had in 2012.

@cookie54 - Hoping to give you a boost re your upcoming flu shot. Got my flu shot this morning around 9 am. It's about 3 pm here now, and so far so good. The nurse told me that it just really varies and some have troubles and some don't, even though it's the same shot. I suppose by this evening I might not be as OK as I am now, but I'm taking this as a good sign for both of us, and wishing you luck.

How's the fitness going, folks? I hiked seven miles and climbed a peak to a fire tower, 1,752 ft. ascent, for a wonderful panorama of granite cliffs and grasslands. Felt very proud of myself for doing some rock scrambling, but really felt it in my joints and bones going down. I read a comment on this trip by a guy who took his 80 year old father up and it took them 8 hours but they did it. Well, if he could do it I figured a not-quite-as-old lady with stage iv cancer might be able to make it and i did.

I'm not a cancer researcher but did statistical analysis of veterinary research which sometimes was related to human disease. This study is a more recent publication (2021) which supports the standard of care which is based on older studies. It considers tumor markers and modern imaging but does not address circulating tumor cells.
There are probably no studies that answer the question posed because the data required to answer it is not collected and available for analysis according to this article.

The ultimate goal is to prevent metastatic recurrence rather than catch it early. Instead of focusing on CTCs researchers are trying to destroy rogue cells when they are dormant in bone marrow. Trials like PALAVY and Penn- SURMOUNT look promising but bone marrow biopsies are invasive and expensive. While blood tests are less invasive and cheaper, once cancer cells are circulating in the blood there is no way of telling early on which organ might have been invaded by a cancer cell which will survive and multiply.

carole, this tortilla press was a flat plate top and bottom with a lever handle to compress ball of corn dough. I find them too dry and tasteless, but toveach their own. Glad you were able to have a good 17 holes in spite of the heat.
Today was port 3 in Mexico. We went to and archeological site to see Mayan steal. It was incredibly humid and access was over rocky, uneven road. Killed my knees so I cut out before he finished and headed back to A/C bus. Then we went to a small town noted for making local chocolate purely from cacao beans ground with sugar and cinnamon. We got to taste finished product after the demonstration. So a small piece if chocolate and a small cup of hot chocolate. It was good. I did not buy any though. It's texture was rather gritty.
Not many photos today. I have more of the local dancers than other sights. Dancing was beautiful.

Mastectomy prep list
This site got me through treatment. There used to be lists - how to prep for mastectomy. That list was soooooo helpful for me.
I have a friend who is having a double mastectomy in two weeks. I can’t remember every tip and trick I learned because that was 2015.
Is this list somewhere I can’t find?
If it’s no longer available, please listen your tips and tricks.
Stuff I remember:
- Satin pjs to make it easier to slide out of bed.
- A stepstool by the bed
- Grabber to reach overhead stuff
- Pre prep meals
- Lanyard for drains in the shower
But I remember the list was wayyyyyyyyyy longer,
