here is my little piece of heaven and joy. He’s such a good dog. A lap dog. Affectionate funny, loving , well behaved. He’s a family dog and we are so hooked on this little guy. We love him so much ! Joy joy joy he brings to us everyday !

I'm here too ! 21 year out this past February .Hallelujah !! A lot of changes on these boards since I Iast posted in '24.
I'm continuing to do well with N.E.D. I went off my Aromasin which I've decided that I used as my security blanket after almost 15 years . That was about 3-4 years ago. Although I did really well on that AI ..once off for a period of time I had no idea of it's impact on how I felt. I'm thankful for it but am so glad it is done.
I see a new doc who has made a few changes . I now go every 6 months rather than once a year so as to work in a rotation of Breast MRI and Mammo/US . She is very involved and I feel that she cares for my welfare.
I follow no special diet ,walk about 2 miles most days and probably drink too much wine : ) .
Looking back, never would I think I would be where I am today but an excellent oncologist and breast surgeon and GOD made it happen . Thinking of you all as you make this journey ..there is light at the end of that long dark tunnel !

Yesterday I ran to Home Depot. They sent a 10% off coupon so I thought I’d grab some things. I needed a new Delta bathroom faucet. We’d replaced all parts with genuine Delta parts and it still dripped after about a week of use. I bought a new overhead light for inside the garage; 4 packs of leaf bags; a bucket; and a surge protector. Big splurge not, but I saved about $18.
Today I ran to Aldi’s for pumpkins and a few other items. Next is I’m hoping to put up the new light in the garage - I’ll open the box and see what I’m up against - it hangs from a chain. 🤷♀️
Good news of the day is gf dh is scheduled for the external ablation at 3pm today. If all goes well they could be back home by Friday.
I need to dye my roots tonight. Mammo & ultrasound tomorrow at 7:40. I don’t want to be lying there with white roots shining. Ha!

betrayal - the sloth pictures are adorable. Sounds like the visit to the animal sanctuary was awesome. It’s always sad to see someone medically disembarked from a cruise ship. I think it’s a reminder to each of us how precious life is. Hopefully they have travel insurance.
Cindy - good luck with the mammo and US tomorrow. Keeping your gf’s DH in my thoughts for a good outcome.
Not much new here - weather is in the 40’s, windy and drizzly so I will be riding my exercise bike in the basement.

Michelle co, you are an inspiration to all of us. I read your postings to my husband and all he could say was "SEE" He has been telling me all along that things are going to be fine. Well, I just cant believe that from anyone....while my gut feeling today was that "YES" it will be fine.
I am going to live like never before. However, I told my hubby that I do not want to start going on vacations because to me that is giving in (if you can relate?) I dont see how doing stuff that I would have not done before would help. My retirement plans were to see the Grand Canyon, Niaggra Falls, and the Black HIlls and any other little fun things so I guess I will hold off until then. I have a nice little cash pot in case if things get bad, but until then I will have faith in my God that that day will not come for a long, long time. Actutually I do think that I will die......but from old age and that is okay with me.
Yes, please to continue to post as all your positive stories or things you have overcome is HUGE to those of us that are still trying to get past this point. I always say to encourage others to visit us also .... so spread the word.

Just try to ignore he mostly. Knowing she lost her mom to cancer and is trying to be supportive and do not see her often can easily not try to hurt her either saying these gifts are not my thing. Maybe for family members o something it is ok but not for a cancer patient. Did not mind the flowers though at all and got that pretty scarf still have and actually use in the spring around a spring sweater accent or something on my shoulders. She won't even know how it makes it me feel and end up either donating it and someone else may chose to wear it or something. The kids who are grown do donations at this point though. We told them long ago we do not need stuff at this point and do donations for birthdays and holiday gifts.

If so, you’ve heard that I decided to stay on letrozole after a lot of questioning whether the side effects were reason enough to try a different AI or stop altogether. While I don’t enjoy the idea of enduring the side effects for anther 22 months, the fact that I’ve started counting the time in months rather than years does give me some solace.
@katg Here I am at 4:00 am after putting in a 12-hour day and I can’t sleep! I’m officially one of the “REM Gals” (Ridiculously Early Morning Gals). I think that’s what we should call ourselves.
I’ve been obsessed with getting as much done on my “Mrs. Billings” quilt before my February retreat with my favorite quilting ladies, including the designer of the quilt. I’ll be celebrating my 4-year anniversary then too. I’m looking forward to celebrating with them. There isn’t a single one of them who hasn’t been touched by BC either directly or indirectly and they all live life with gusto.

Hi @kks_11 and @ann5631 thanks for the insight and word of encouragement. Glad you are both doing well after your treatments! I’ve heard good things about calendula, it was on the list of approved lotions from my rad onc. I’ve been using emu oil (a gift from a friend) and Eucerin daily for the last 2 weeks to prepare my skin. @cat_guardian you may have to ask about lotions your rad onc approves.
Ready to get this step in the journey done. ❤️
