@candy-678 I can empathize with how you are feeling. Mornings are not bad but I am exhausted most of the time as well. Have to take breaks when doing stuff or doing chores in a tiny apartment. Like you, I would like to do what regular people do in their lives. In your pocket. I also blocked Facebook from the ability to see family as I don't need to know how busy they are. Sending support your way.
I have Herceptin today. Really cold outside, actually shut my window in living room and turned extra heat from the split AC unit to warm up a bit, other option is to shut the bedroom door. I leave AC in window because I have a ton of fleecy blankets to sleep under.
Not sure about breakfast, may just get ready and order another egg mcmuffin, bad but that is all I want. Not sure what to have later. Chores will be done after I get back from treatment.
Get results of MRI tomorrow, likely stable as no one has asked to see me sooner, I take that as a good sign. Only thing to remember is to ask for ondesetron, the vomiting tells me to take a backup at least an hour before the appointment.

@micmel I didn't realize our daughter's were birthdays were so close. My baby girl just turned 30 on Sunday. I'm glad you're going to see your old doc, even though it's farther away. Is there any way to complain, formally, about the palliative care doc? My docs are all over an hour away, but I am not in excruciating pain riding in a car. I can't even imagine.

Hi ladies:
Winding into our third week on the hospital opening and mostly doing okay. Still working on a few areas we need to finish up that couldn't be done for opening but need to be completed.
The more exciting news is that I am now working on my final planning to see if I can retire in early 2026. It has always been my plan to leave after the project was done (and also when I got to 65, which happened this year) so end of this year was a goal when I started. I am to Medicare age, fully vested at work, and done with this project mostly (good enough to leave soon). As of yesterday, I have started my process to review my final readiness to go beginning with my financial planner. Things are looking good, some more work to do between now and end of the year. My hope is to give my 2 week notice right after the beginning of the year. Then onward to the next chapter!
MistyEyes- those most recent pictures I took are actually off some of the ABQ and other local threads from balloon fiesta. I should have included a disclaimer that those were not my pictures. Some of the ones you do see from me are mine as the balloons do fly over my house a lot. I saw less of that this year during the fiesta, but also a lot of the events ended up cancelled (about half) due to rain and/or wind.
Heading to CA in another 10 days for my first vacation in awhile (since March) to visit family, walk on the beach, shop, eat and do some hot springs out that way. You might see some fun pictures from me too.
Have a good rest of October and swing into November. The end of the year going quickly now….

Lisa, sounds familiar…I too have two meds that consist of 2 pills each. There’s nothing quite like swallowing a handful of pills first thing in the morning and last thing of the day. Oh, I forgot the new one that’s 3 pills a day. Some days when I feel a bit queasy around 2pm, I have to ask myself if I took the morning pills. There’s one medication I have taken for decades that makes me very ill if I skip a couple days. Recently I’ve noticed it only takes a late dose to start the stomach upset. Fun!
How is the kitten doing? I’ve thought about being a foster mom for a dog, but I’m allergic to most breeds. Welsh corgis are the breed I’m devoted to and don’t seem to be as allergic as long as they get bathed when they get “doggie”, but they don’t often come up to foster.
I had a big deadline on Monday so I missed the last meeting. I’ll try to make the next one. See you soon.

@kathrynw1thasea yep that's me! I need to see when I actually started taking it, but regardless I think my oncologist will want me to be on it for 10 years instead of 5 because I was diagnosed at 40. I messaged her to get an appointment to talk about options. I'll keep everyone posted!

I was stage 2b and just got to 5 years past my diagnosis date! I was diagnosed at age 36, 3.5 cm grade 3 tumor with 1cm lymph node. Oncotype score was 19.
Had a bilateral mastectomy (ended up with surgical complications so also had a lat flap surgery with reconstruction), chemo, radiation, and ovaries removed. Now I'm almost halfway thru 10 years of letrozole.
When I was going through everything my goal was to be done with active treatment before my 5 year started kindergarten. I did finish a few weeks before school started so I got to walk him in with my super short hair. Now he's a 4th grader and my younger son is in 1st grade. I'm so thankful for this time I've had & all of the memories we've made and hope to be here (and healthy) when they graduate.
Love reading these stories of so many of us living well after breast cancer. I know it gave me a lot of hope in the early days. 😊
