Re: calling all t1A (> 1 mm but < 6 mm) sisters who are HER2+
Just joined the website today, although I have certainly read many posts over the past 4 years for encouragement. I can happily say I am one of the 406 participants for this clinical Phase II study: I was diagnosed with IDC on 7/20/09 with a .09 cm tumor that was Her2+ with slight ER+. I was treated at Mass General & it is now 4 1/2 yrs. later with no disease recurrence. I was grateful that my oncologist recommended my participation in this trial.
Re: Can we have a forum for "older" people with bc?
Betrayal, your photos provided me a trip through the canal! Thanks.
Canarycat, good luck on the followup procedure.
Cindy, I agree that you're a very good friend.
My laptop says "rainy days ahead." I hope it's being truthful. The poor azaleas are desperate for a drink of water. I've been working in the yard this week, pulling out vines and lopping invasive trees. I have piles for dh to pick up and take to the burn pile. I start sneezing as soon as I go outside. The goldenrod are thriving out in the wooded areas of the neighborhood. There's one vacant lot full of it.
Yesterday I had a delivery of straw bales. I'll start spreading it for mulch today. I miss going to the gym senior classes but it's either gym or yard and the yard needs attention.
Happy…? Thursday!
Re: More Tips (and a Shopping List) for Getting Through Chemo
rock,
love your ice crusher. I use a rolling pin. I think we were separated at birth, except I'm 6 years old than you (Happy Birthday!)

Re: Side effects from aromatase inhibitor other than joint pain.
Thanks for the info on the BCI test, I'll stick with the Anastrozole for now I just want more info. Since I was diagnosed at the end of July I have met with my Onc twice. The first time was right after I was diagnoses and didn't know what to ask. The second time was when I was trying to decide whether to do chemo. He was not helpful and rather condescending. I am now in the process of trying to switch oncologist. Problem is the best ones where I am are all in the same group so it is taking a little time. Discussing using the AI and the SE will be topic one when I do.

Canarycat, sorry the procedure couldn't be done today. Hope things go better next time.
Captain just announced tropical storm Melissa is predicted to develop hurricane strength speed stop in Ariba cut short so they can take diversionsry route to Ft. Lauderdale. We are not disembarking until 11/2. Some excursions will be canceled.
We'll see what we can though.
Re: Can we have a forum for "older" people with bc?
Mammo & ultrasound were both good, but they’re no longer diagnostic. I’ll get a letter in about a week with results. It was pitch black when I left my house for the appointment. Then it started raining. Ugh.
After that I ran to my gf house, the one in NYC with her husband. I told her I’d strip her bed so they come home to fresh sheets. I got her sheets in the washer and left for our town landfill. I took the old florescent light tubes from the garage overhead light there for recycling. Back to her house, I had to wait a bit but got her sheets into the dryer.
I’m home waiting to leave for lunch with a gf. After lunch I’ll go back and get the sheets on the bed. I’ll also ask her if any towels need washing - I can throw them in and leave.
Gf dh- the Dr wants the battery in the defibrillator changed by Friday. They can do it there or transfer him back up here to get it done. They opted to do it there. That’s happening tomorrow and he’s being released on Friday. They’re setting up a car service to get home - I don’t think he’s up for the train.
It’s been rainy on & off, but sunny 55 now. A few minutes ago it was dark gray. Going to be one of those kind of days.
Betrayal, I’m enjoying your pictures. I’ve got enough projects here to keep me plenty busy, some will have to wait until spring.
Hope you all have a good day.
