Yesterday after running to pharmacy to discuss why I had received a "recycled" prescription or what they referred to as a "return to stock" where they pasted my label over that of another person. The drug inside was okay, but it was the fact that I was able to see this person's info after peeling the label off. I considered this a breach of confidentiality because I had her name, address (which was over an hour away from my location) and prescription number plus the stocking date and expiration dates did not match from her prescription to mine. This had been sitting on a shelf for a month before they provided it to me and had been off loaded from the original stock bottle which I felt was wrong. Hers read 6/25 and mine now read 7/25. So answers, but told them I did not want this to happen again. I picked up my new prescription and left.
I ran to the grocery store and found that it was less expensive to buy a beef eye roast than to buy beef cubes and the roast was less fatty, plus I will get two meals from it. I used about half the roast for the beef for my vegetable soup and still have enough to make a roast. I made a large pot of beef vegetable soup and DD visited today so she went home with some. They also had red peppers on sale, but you had to buy 5, so I decided I would also make stuffed peppers for another meal. I picked up the 5 and then found 4 on the clearance rack for less than $2 and grabbed those as well. I picked up some ground beef (wow, the prices now) as well. When I came home I started the soup and while the beef cubes were browning started the stuffed peppers. Once they were done and in the oven, a container of 4 for DD and DSIL plus some porcupines (leftover ground beef with rice in it) and a container of 5 for us, I went back to completing the soup. They are in the refrigerator because DSIL wanted a meal from Nifty Fifty's, so dinner was burgers, cheese fries and old time milkshakes. Dinner tonight will be soup with sour bread.
They were in the area because DSIL had a dental appointment and DD thought her doctor's appointment was yesterday, but it is actually next week. DSIL helped get Christmas tree up into the attic.
Today I have to tackle emptying the China closet and safely storing what I want to keep. I'll start with the top and then address the buffet bottom. The shelves in the top are a wood/glass combo so I'll have to find safe storage for them as well. I hope to at least get the top done today. I also have to take the crystal cups with their crystal prisms off the chandelier and the wall sconces. I'll bubble wrap them for storage.
The drapery cleaning company is to come on Thursday so I am hoping we only get rain overnight and the temps stay above freezing or they won't make it up the driveway. Fingers crossed.
It's a beautiful sunny day expected to hit 50, but we never hit the predicted mid 40's yesterday, so I'll take a "we'll see" attitude.

@intolight That sounds like a good plan. Hope that some of the tumors can be radiated-it makes such a difference.

@bigred62 ….since you asked me to keep you posted…..I just pulled up my CT scan results and I am still NED! I am amazed since I had to skip a few weeks because my platelets were too low.
I really wish that everyone else could experience the longevity that I have!

@bigred62 …great news! One week on and one week off is much easier. My onc seldom puts anyone on 3,000. So a reduction is a good thing!

I saw my Oncologist yesterday and all my tests were great including the extra lliver tests.
We talked about putting me on the 1 week on 1 week off protocol next month so I would be getting 3000 a day instead if 3600, he brought it up suggesting it's easier for lifestyle and gives your body a break with less tests and visits so I'm all for that 😀
I hope to be able to stay on this as long as my body behaves and as long as possible!
You have done amazing and I want to follow in your footsteps. 💓

Intolight- glad you have a plan ❤️ you can live with and feels good for you. My current chemo is every three weeks, and I feel underwater for a day or two but normal rest of the time lol which is probably relative…. Some chemos are much easier to tolerate. You never know, I have been on some form of chemo for three years now. It’s fine, it is what it is and every body responds differently. Glad you have a MO who is open to adjustments. Pain is never easy, that is the hard one. I’m crossing my fingers for you and wishing relief that radiation might ease it.
wren - hoping in your pocket too tomorrow, I hope your scans are fast and your patience to pass the time includes fun reading or something digital to watch?
mara- kitties are so forgiving, glad you are home with them and they are back to natural meows for food and cuddle time

Re working , I’m 67 and still work full time, I teach and do admin in an university and love it. I like helping people and sharing , learning. But I can work from home as a medical accommodation which makes all the difference and never felt too sick to focus. When I’d feel under the weather I can nap and make up my own hours, so it’s a unique set up. Always an individual decision. As most of life.

@wren44 In your pocket waiting, that is certainly a long wait to have between injection and scan. Waiting is never much fun.
Welp, suppertime here, did not accomplish much yet. Just having frozen penne alfredo and chicken, once cooked just put mostly dry seasoning with a squirt of the wet. For dessert think I am finally doing the yogurts, banana and mio. Overall lazy day but making sure floor, kitchen and laundry are getting done as needed, want all done by 9pm I think. I just need it done once a day.

Betrayal, you accomplish as much as two or three women with less drive.
Petite, I hope your friend is recovering from the fall with no permanent injury.
Winter is visiting us again. My laptop says it's 38 degrees outside, and I can see the sun is shining. I decided against playing golf as did the other women in the group. I plan to go to the gym and do grocery shopping afterwards. The Winn Dixie that was our main supermarket for 30 plus years just sold and is being converted into a Rouses Supermarket. Rouses started as a Louisiana supermarket and has expanded into several other southern states. I will miss WD because it was so familiar. I already had the option to shop at two other Rouses with a little extra driving.
Cindy, you could start a Handy Woman business if you were so inclined. DH replaced the icemaker unit in a Kenmore refrigerator about 20 years ago. It was quite a job and involved language, but he succeeded.
It's income tax return time again. For years I went to an accountant but with excellent software, it's easy to do our return myself.

@wren44 - Count me in your pocket too. Good luck with these. I absolutely know the sitting around and waiting for hours with the CT and bone scans. I have a friend who comes and picks me up and accompanies me, and we usually start out in the mid morning where I get the injection, then I get the CT; we go to lunch, and then go back and do the bone scan, before leaving. It does take several hours like you noted, but it does help with a friend and that break in the sessions where we can go get lunch or whatever. Again, best of luck!
