Re: Can we have a forum for "older" people with bc?
Sandy, sad state of affairs in your neighborhood. ICE actions remind me of past roundups for ethnicity. I would not blame your cleaners if they laid low even if they have no need to.
Sorry to read about your son and his wife. Hope you can help him as well as deal with your own chaos. You have really been through the ringer since the fire. I hope once you are back in your own home that you can find some peace. I know you still have much to deal with there, but there is something comforting about familiar surroundings.
We are in San Juan. More later.

Wren, hoping the chemo is effective without bad SEs.
I need to get my flu shot and Covid booster shot. On different days.
Sunny outside this morning and cool, 53 degrees. Another nice day.
Re: Envita Medical Centers
Envita uses therapies that have not been FDA approved. It's possible that some of them might help but there is no hard scientific evidence. To quote my pulmonologist, "Mouse lungs are not human lungs." I understand your desire to do everything possible. I use a medication for radiation induced lung damage that was proposed to slow further pulmonary decline in two different clinical trials which never ran because of lack of enrollment. My inhaler is FDA approved and prescribed by my pulmonologist to control my cough. I won't change to a different drug delivered in a more environmentally friendly method when insurance tries to substitute (he files appeals on grounds other than the clinical trials which never ran.)
The care at Envita is not covered by health insurance. Have you asked your oncologists if anything offered looks helpful? You also don't want to do anything that would interfere with the efficacy of the treatment you are receiving now. You can certainly investigate but I would get the opinion of your current team before trying anything. All the best.

Sandy, I'm also sorry to hear about your son's breakup. But glad for you that you're on the verge of being "back at home."
We have missed you on the What's for Dinner? forum but understand why you're too busy to post there.
It must be chilling to have ICE in operation in your neighborhood rather than just read articles and see coverage on tv.
I have had a pleasant day. My exercise class was great. A food trailer outside the YMCA was selling barbecue today so I called dh to ask if he'd like barbecue for lunch. He said he would so I bought him a meal with brisket chili and sides he likes, coleslaw and baked beans. I had the brisket chili, which was full of chunks of barbecued brisket and was very good. Brisket is my favorite barbecue meat, with chicken a close second.
Hope everyone else had a good Wednesday.
