Re: how about drinking?
skv - welcome. I still have a drink every night. Just not 3 or 4. I'm honest with my docs and they aren't upset about it.
Re: how about drinking?
I spent last week trying to set up a phone call between DH and his sister. Took 5 phone calls and numerous messages since both have dementia. My reward was going out to dinner with DD
Re: how about drinking?
OMGOMGOMGOMG!!
I was selected to take part in the second edition of the STILL Project - . It's a photojournalism project aimed at increasing awareness of aesthetic flat closure as an option after mastectomy.
There were almost 50 people who applied, but only 12 were chosen. I'm so excited to take part. The shoot is in Boston, so DH might come along. (He spent a good part of his childhood in that area.) It's going to make for a very busy few weeks. I'll have this event the last weekend of September, then the very next weekend I'm off to Santa Cruz for a Flattie gathering. Fun times!
Re: So...whats for dinner?
I used to cut my own hair in my 20's. It was always long so I was only cutting some inches off the end. I also cut hair for my DH and my son. Most of the remaining years I kept it at shoulder length. But now…. other than evening the ends, I haven't cut my hair since Covid so it's down my back well past my bra line. Being lazy, I usually wear it in a pony tail.
Dinner was salmon steak poached in white wine with dill. Served with broccoli and Seeds of Change quinoa & brown rice. To top it off, I used my coupon to pick up my free buntlette from Nothing Bundt Cakes, so I ate 1/2 of that White Chocolate Raspberry delight. I recommend this 'bakery' highly if there's one near you. Or even if you have to drive an hour.

Carole, I'm glad you got a good margarita and the nachos were tasty. Now you know what to order if you have to return there.
Minus, We have a circulator pump on the hot water heater that provides hot water quickly without running the tap. Good idea to start using up what is in your freezer.
Wally, Sorry you are missing fishing season but I’ve found that as you get older things happen that interfere with your plans.
Dinner tonight was meatballs in Rao’s on spaghetti.

Re: Can we have a forum for "older" people with bc?
2/3 of my windows are covered with plastic film which breaks up the scenery into small iridescent shapes. The other day I saw, through Tippy's observation point, a hummingbird hovering, trying to figure if the window was a flower. He decided not, and flew away.
Yesterday I removed a bunch of buttons from Tippy's board, leaving those he uses frequently. He informed me that he was angry, and demonstrated which ones he wanted restored. One was "did" as we had used that in reviews of the day to teach him others, and I think that the other was "hurts."
Re: So...whats for dinner?
Last night's dinner started with chicken thighs in the slow cooker. Added peas. Added corn. Added cooked thick noodles. Deboned the chicken (overcooked) and added Raos alfredo sauce. Served in bowls. Tasted good. Side was chopped salad with iceberg, tomato and cucumber.
Today is our Labor Day potluck meal about 5:30 or 6:00. I bought buns and chips.

canarycat, hope the new AI will be less problematic. I can't remember taking a break when I was switched, but that was awhile ago. Enjoy the weekend. A reunion bbq sounds like fun. Lovely cat.
Sandy, they probably spent more on packing boxes, bubble wrap and wrapping paper than on some of your replacement fixtures. Hopefully with all you pointed out to the contractor's rep, change will be effected to your satisfaction. Why would anyone exhaust a bathroom fan into a wall? Are they looking into a return for mold remediation? Sheesh, they sound more like bumblers than licensed contractors.
Glad you were able to do the hair and mani-pedi to make you feel better. Not sure I could eat at 10:30 at night and then go to sleep. Never been a late night eater and on cruises insist on early dinner for that reason.
Annoyed about the hoops one has to jump through to get the Covid vaccine this fall. I will see my new PCP to get a prescription before it is available but think this is an inconvenience for those who will have to contact their PCP through a portal and the demand on them.
The hummingbird was just hovering outside the bay window. He has been sitting on the Japanese maple for the past few days. Yesterday while I was watering the patio plants, I saw 2 males vying for the feeder. I do enjoy watching them. One is very shy and any movement spooks it. The other seems to take it in stride and ignores us. They will be leaving soon and DH won't be able to manage feeder while I am on cruise. He's back hovering, is he saying goodbye?
Weekend originally had no plans except for DH joining DD and DSIL for an outdoor concert. It's a cover band and not one I am fond of, so I passed. We will be going to the Sedona Tap house for dinner before they go and then DD got tickets for us to go see the Cirque Italia, a water show, tomorrow afternoon in Exton. I want to start planning what to pack now that suitcase is repaired.
cindyny, hoping the firemen will let you use their dumpster. Maybe buy them a round of drinks?
Hope everyone has a great day.
