Re: Cats, cats, cats
kathryn, she is the spitting image of my Leo (Leonides) that I rescued when he was just about a year old after he had been abandoned twice. He was very skittish according to the rescue and hid in a huge console they had. they pulled him out and put him in another room with me. I talked to him, but made no overtures towards touching him. After an hour, he climbed on my lap, to the amazement of the staff who had limited contact with him, and then he went home in my carrier. He is truly a velcro cat and mostly stays in my bedroom. He's 14 now and still a flyweight around 9 lbs. Just love him to bits.
Re: Can we have a forum for "older" people with bc?
Culture makes people understand each other better. And if they understand each other better in their soul, it is easier to overcome the economic and political barriers. But first they have to understand that their neighbour is, in the end, just like them, with the same problems, the same questions.

Jazzy, your trip to the bird refuge sounds like an outing I would definitely enjoy. Mississippi has a sandhill crane refuge that dh and I visited one year when RV friends were working there. I love birds as much I love flowers.
Misty, one of my sisters and I collaborated to look after my mother. The other siblings did their part in different ways, one way by calling her frequently and making her feel a part of their lives. When my mother moved to a nursing home, my sister and I visited on alternate days through Saturday, and a brother went on Sunday to attend a church service with her. When she passed, it was a good feeling to know she had felt loved.
