All my life, I have been a positive thinker... I have always been able to survive by telling myself that no matter how bad things are, they will one day be better. And that out of every event - no matter how tragic - one can always find a way to survive and even, perhaps, to be a little bit happy.

@chicagoan Thanks for the thoughtful response. Your point about allowing myself to fell rather than question really struck a chord with me. I hadn’t thought of it that way. It made me realize that I still have a tendency to question the validity of my own feelings rather than accepting that the relationship with the sisters is irreconcilable. You are correct about accepting my feeling. I can be grateful that getting my parents into a facility now is happening. I didn’t have to be one of the “bad guys”. Assuming they feel that way. Thank you for helping me see this.
I do have a long-arm now. My best girlfriend’s husband bought one for us to share. It lives at my house. He is the most generous person I know. I love them dearly. Her brother is pretty cool too. :)

I feel your frustration. I would feel so betrayed if I found text messages like that. I’ve never been married so my advice doesn’t really hold much weight, but when I was in a live-in relationship and he pulled something like that, he was on his own when it came to meals or anything else he expected me to do for him. Wink-wink nudge-nudge say no more. FYI - he is married now and as the brother of my best friend, we are still in contact. He credits me with having knocked sense into him when it comes to respecting his wife. He has been one of my strongest supporters throughout my cancer journey. He was going through treatment for melanoma in his eye at the same time, so that was a factor, but still…pretty amazing for an ex. Which brings me back around to my point about whether my advice is “good”. He is my exfiancé. Just sayin’.

Hi, Ladies. It is 53 degrees in NC. It was beautiful, yesterday. Today it rained until about 11:00. The crawl space workers came after the rain. I have a couple of roofing companies coming Thursday to give estimates on gutters and to check the roof. The guy that blew the leaves off the roof, said there were some soft spots. I love this little cabin. Even with problems, it is still my happy place.

Betrayal, trust an inquisitive cat to walk in the paint. Lol. Glad your painting work is getting done and you can get rooms back into order. You're fortunate to have a good, reliable painter in the family.
My hair stylist did some "shaping up." Surprisingly, a longer hair style isn't more difficult than the shorter style I had for many years. "Longer" is down just past my ears. Afterwards I went to the Walmart, which is much newer than the Walmart in our area. The produce department was a mess but I found a bag of green beans to cook for dinner. The prices in Walmart on many items are definitely cheaper than prices in the supermarkets near us, but the supermarkets are more convenient. We have an ongoing list on the kitchen island.

@cookie54 I am supposed to get a sheet of appointments printed out which is good. I am planning to be stubborn on times they are scheduled, had one scheduled at 10 pm for which I rescheduled as I do not have a vehicle and unsure about how late the Paratransit goes until so I changed it. Also don't see the need to travel farther to another hospital now that all the surgery nonsense is done. CT scans and MRI can be done at my local hospital.
Nothing on the agenda, wound up sleeping early in evening, woke up hungry at 10 pm so had a burrito. Bad move, wound up awake til 4 am, went to bed and woke up 11 am. Nothing on the docket so I am not concerned but do need to start eating earlier, fininishing up earlier would be good.
Having a burrito this morning to start with since I do need to clear up my kitchen, been unhappy with the cord arrangement. My apt does not have many outlets to use and I have many appliances I keep plugged in BUT decided to slim down the stuff kept on counter as kitchen gadgets. Just keeping my magic bullet and bigger chopper. My mom's chopper that is smaller is kept for nostalgia, works quite well itself so will get put out in an underneath cupboard, emptied out and moved some of the stuff in there, it is right below so makes it.
EDIT was able to organize a power hub that is not hard to handle, did unplug all of the stuff and got a couple of extenders with surge protectors and it looks easier to plug and unplug stuff in. Still using one thing at a time.
Having some mcdonalds, mcdouble meal, tiny fries and fruitopia with a junior chicken, both with extra mayo and mcdouble with extra onions.

Being kind to yourself , loving yourself, accepting change and being adaptable and flexible is a place of practice. My two little fosters can be little clowns. Shamu falls asleep wherever, today it was head in the food bowl, and Amore has the cutest face. The area around his mouth reminds me of a clown with one side happy and the other side straight faced. Clown he is not. He still like to hiss and try to scratch.
