Re: Starting radiation October 2025? Let's support each other!
Hi @kks_11 and @ann5631 thanks for the insight and word of encouragement. Glad you are both doing well after your treatments! I’ve heard good things about calendula, it was on the list of approved lotions from my rad onc. I’ve been using emu oil (a gift from a friend) and Eucerin daily for the last 2 weeks to prepare my skin. @cat_guardian you may have to ask about lotions your rad onc approves.
Ready to get this step in the journey done. ❤️
Re: Can we have a forum for "older" people with bc?
Sloth with her 3 week old son.
When it's lunch time sloths move quickly.
3 week old on left and 4 month old on right. Both are orphans due to mom hit by car and other mom killed by a dog.
Re: So...whats for dinner?
Yes on the rewiring., but that's easy. The wood refinishing isn't too bad, but will take longer because of the drying time for the wood finishes.
I was about 1 hour 10 minutes for the 6-1/2 miles. In 1981-1982, I could do that distance in half the time. It must be the altitude. :-)
Re: So...whats for dinner?
The grilled ribeye and mashed potato salad meal last night "hit the spot." Whatever that means. LOL. I made a lot of potato salad in order to have leftovers for lunches for dh. Deli potato salad became a regular item on the grocery list this summer. He can add onions, if he likes. I realized I was out of yellow mustard when the time came to assemble the potato salad last night, so I substituted Grey Poupon. A slightly different taste but still good.
Tonight will be red beans and rice with the frozen red beans in the freezer. Side will be either romaine salad or coleslaw.
Hard to imagine a Popeye's without chicken. Some of the big gas stations with food are known to have good fried chicken and good fried catfish. My mother cooked fried chicken in a large cast iron skillet with high sides. The hot oil popped and made a mess of the stove. My best memory of fried chicken. She cut up whole chickens to turn them into the maximum number of pieces for a large family. There was one "wish-bone" piece out of the breast. And the wings were two pieces with a little drumstick.
