Re: Can we have a forum for "older" people with bc?
Sorry to hear about your ruptured implant. If your implant is silicone, I think it will need to be taken out. If saline, it shouldn't be a big deal if it is left in. My implant, since it was only put in last year, so it should out live me, unless I get in an accident where I have impact on my fake breast. My other breast is from DIEP and I am still mad that I couldn't have both breasts removed in 2019 because my breast surgeon lied to me!
I feel sorry for your husband! Sending healing vibes to both of you!
I also agree that the Super Bowl hoopla over Taylor Swift is ridiculous.
I do want the 49ers to win, but I am rooting for the Chiefs because all the teams I rooted for lately have lost. LOL Seriously, I don't care who wins! It's my DH's birthday tomorrow, so I just hope it is a good game and a safe one! I am not fond of the half-time shows, but I admit, I do love listening to Usher!
Re: What do you wish you had known when you (or your loved one) were first diagnosed?
We love your perspective, as always, @elderberry! One day at a time, indeed.
Re: So...whats for dinner?
I have my aunt's old Singer sewing machine. I didn't really want it but her daughter, my cousin, brought it to my house. I have a mini Sears that has seen me through many sewing projects. It's a cute little thing that folds up and fits into a small case. The only drawback is that it doesn't manage thick heavy material.
It's dark and gloomy out this morning.
Last night's dinner lacked any wow factor. DH discovered the grill gas bottle was empty so we cooked the lamb chops on the stove top in a cast iron grill pan. Too late to heat up the oven for finishing them. The half baked potato was good with butter and sour cream.
Probably leftover gumbo tonight with tossed salad.

That I finally understand what one day at a time means. That I have an incredible support system and so many friends and family that love me. That this is just a poopy way to start a new year. That this time next year I’ll be back to my usual nerdy go lucky happy self. That I self medicate with knowledge (I have too many great friends and two sorority sisters who all survived and thrived after breast cancer).
Re: I say YES. YOU say NO....Numero Tre! Enjoy!
Well she's pretty good Wilson. I think then we should have a few more of her, don't you??? You know don't you Wison, where you just might go for lying, don't you ???
