Any test results yet, Harley?  How's the back been holding out?  I've been thinking about you and sending positive vibes your way!

Harley, remember we are all with you. Perhaps you just hurt your back somehow...lower back is tricky.

    Hugs and prayers,

    Rita, Candie, and everyone,

My drs office called this morning.  The x-ray was negative for any abnormalities.  YIPPEE!  I was so excited that I went for my first hair cut and even got some color!

Thanks so much for all the prayers...  I firmly believe that the reason I got through bc tx so well, with not many se's, is because I had so many people praying for me.

Now I still don't know what is causing the lower back pain, but I guess it's nothing serious.

    Thanks,

    Harley

Harley, so happy to hear that all is well with your test.  Sorry you still have a sore back, but I bet mentally your on cloud nine!!!

I wonder if there is ever a time when you don't think of every little ache or pain as being something more.  Its definitely in my thoughts right now, I can only hope that it will subside with time.

Rita, so jealous gal, I would love to do the 18 hole league.  Got to go about another 10 years at work for a full retirement.  So I'll be sticking with the working gals league!  Good luck with the short game, my dad's girlfriend hits the ball about 150 off the tee, a straight fairway shot and her short game is phenominal.  She is a bogey golfer due to her short game.   I'm one of those golfers that likes to hit the course but doesn't really like to practice.  I'm holding my own with a 24 handicap right now.  Would like to approach 20, but the leeway works to my benefit in a tourney.

Had txt #5 of 12 today, my WBC was low again, onc is hoping it will raise by next week like last month.  I have definitely been a little more tired by the end of the work day.  I'm slowly having to listen to my body and know that it okay to mellow out.  Its so hard for me as the weather has been getting better and the yard is starting to call me name, I enjoy taking care of the yard but I'm probably going to have to relinquish some of my duties to the dh and ds.  I swear they can't weed-eat like me!!!

Jill I'll be looking forward to getting some particulars on where about you live in the Phoenix area, you should be getting ready for the islands by about now.  I'm so jealous, sounds like a blast.  My onc today said the sun and vit D are good for you.  I asked about how much sun I can get and he basically said to wear a good sunblock, avoid a burn (which can happen a little easier) with all the drugs in our bodies.  I was hoping he wasn't going to recommend wearing a long sleeve shirt kinda thing.

Sue, hoping your able to lurk a bit on the post and that your feeling much better and your se's are staying away.

Candie, thanks for popping in and keeping us newbies up to date.  We appreciate you all keeping this post going!

Gotta take ds to skate practice, have a great evenings ladies,

    Carol

    Carol,

This was the first time since my bc dx that I had pain, and also the first test I've had... I have read that with time, maybe I won't jump to conclusions, thinking the worst whenever I have pains.

It helped to be able to post here, since you are such a wonderful group of women who truly understand, since we are all going through this bc journey together, so we have all "been there".

    Thanks!

Oh Harley, I just popped in to see how it went........yay!!!!!

this is very good news,  you must be so relieved.

Carol, congrats on TX #5, I am glad you continue to do so well,

glad to hear about the sunblock I thought too, it was a no sun thing with long sleeves and we have our annual seashore vacation scheduled around my last treatment in July.  Good news!  And so glad you seem to still be doing great!

Everybody hang in there, I am glad to hear sue is doing OK via this board.  Didn't find her convos, just gleaned from here.

    love to all

Yep, the sun is good for us.  My onc prescribed extra Vitamin D3 for me, which is the type of Vitamin D that our skin makes when in the presence of sunlight.  It has helped with the joing side effects of the Arimidex.  In fact, I even golfed during rads.  Of course the radiated area was covered with clothing and I used sunblock on the other areas...so think Spring!!!

Carol, our handicaps are about the same, but my short game was worse than usual last year.  Improving it is about the only way I'll be able to improve my handicap so that's my goal for this year and since I live just down the lane from the club and have unlimited access to the course, I have no reason not to go out by myself a few times and just practice.  If I ever figure out how to post photos on this site, I will post a picture of my Chicago Cubs Golf Cart.

Glad everyone is doing well!  You're getting through these treatments, gals!  Hang in there.

Rita, here's the directions I was given to post a pic,

Go to http://www.photobucket.com/ (set up an acct), atleast I did.

Upload your pics to the photobucket account.

Once your picture is showing at photobucket, copy the 'direct link' which is an option stated under your pics.

Now go back to the BCorg site, type away and when your ready to insert a pic, click on the 'green tree icon, next to the smiley face), paste in the link you copied from photo bucket

Click insert, and you should have a bingo!!!

Good luck, give me a call if you still can't get it to work and I'll try to help you through it (360) 509-0860

I love it a Cubbies golf cart ... your my kind of gal, but it would have to be a Mariner's cart!!!  Now toodle that cart down for a lil practice (easy for me to say!!!)

Glad to hear that you we're able to golf through rads, I'll be picking your brain on the rads front when the time comes ... probably in June if everything stays on track for me.

Ordered my compression sleeve today, I'll have it before flying in a couple weeks.  Hoping now that insurance will have a change of heart and pay for it.  They havn't heard the end from me yet.

Time to start dinner, later for now, Carol

Oh hi ladies, thanks so much for the photo info carol, I wanted to post one but couldn't figure it out...I'll give it a shot.

And soooooo glad to hear about the sun!!  I am a redhead and have to be careful but I'll take some freckles over staying out of it any day!

Also Rita, glad to know you are on Arimidex...me too, when this is done, my onc. says he will "crush" my ovaries with Lupron, then I'll get Arimidex which as I understand gives one a 75% protection against recurrence vs. Tamoxifen's 50%.  I hope it's been OK for you, tho you sound great!  I'll be picking your brain when I 'm done here.

Carol, rads is easy.....give me a shout when ya get there and I'll walk you thru if you'd like.

    love to all

Hi Candie and Lisa...so good to hear from both of you.  Lisa, please send that spring and the flowers to Illinois ASAP!  I'm SO READY for spring this.  It's been a long, hard winter here and I'm a warm season person.

Carol, I'm in the midst of a bathroom remodeling project and have spent the day stripping the old ceramic flooring out.  When I get an extra hour I am certainly going to try to photobucket and see if I can get "into the technology century."  Maybe by the end of next week I'll have it figured out and will surprise you with a picture.

Sue, I imagine that the hormonal issue has something to do with "feeling down."  I was actually post menapausal when this hit me but the hormone levels do go crazy during chemo.  Then again, you've been through alot and that in itself would tend to make one "feel down."  I know I felt that way at times during the chemo and I understand that "I don't want to go back for another treatment" feeling.  Oh how well I remember!  I had four chemo treatments and then they stopped the chemo and I had my radiation treatments.  After the rads, I had to go back for the last two chemos.  By then, I was beginning to feel pretty good again and I sure didn't want to go back for them.  I did, though, and now I'm glad that I completed the program.  Believe me, you will feel much better when you're done with the treatments and you'll know that you've done everything possible to kick this cancer!  Hang in there!  You can do it.

Annie, I'm doing O.K. on the Arimidex.  I had a few side effects but have found ways to minimize them.  The advantages of the drug are too good to give it up.  I bet you'll do just fine with it when it's time to take it.

I hope everyone is doing good today!  I need to get back to my remodeling project so I'll catch you all later.

How's your back, Harley?  Any better?

    Rita

    Rita,

Strange, but my back seems to be feeling better today.  I am not sure what caused the lower back pain, but others have posted that it could be from the Tamoxifen...  yet another se that the drs. won't admit we could have.

Thanks for checking...  I feel much better!  You are such a nice person!  I am glad that you are doing ok with Arimidex.  I have recently started having problems with Tamoxifen, because my onc. took me off Effexor.  Now the hot flashes are getting terrible!

Hi, everyone!  I am glad to see that everyone seems to be doing alright with their CMF tx!

Rita, I think you need to downsize your pic before downloading it to photobucket.  I hate to say it but I'm by know means a "puter" expert, its alot of trial and error for me.  Did you try to put in a dimension like 4" x 6" at the bc.org prompt?  Sorry I'm not alot of help, I'll put a shout out on the other thread I yak at, maybe someone can help us out!

Good luck with your remodel project ... I lived through a total house remodel about 15 years ago.  Don't care to do that again!!!

Lisa, nice of you to pop in and share the beautiful pic.  We can see your in Ca., gotta love it!

Annie, so nice to hear someone say that rads was easy, I've got a ways to go before that starts, but its nice to hear positive reactions as you and Rita mentioned.

Sue, my oh my, hang in there gal, there will be a light at the end of the tunnel soon.  Do you have enough energy to maybe take a short walk?  My onc really feels that I'm tolerating txt very well due to being as active as I have been able to be.  Keeping my body moving and drinking alot of water (liquids) seems to help me out quite a bit.  I know that its easier said than done if your totally pooped out.  My thoughts for you to get through your next infusions with minimal se's are with you.

Harley, glad to hear that your back is feeling better.  I'll be following your journey in regards to the Arimidex as well.

    Be back later,

    Carol

Rita, got a tip from a fellow user ... give it a try.

Carol - when I pasted a picture into the little box where I type, I have been able to just grab the corner of the picture and resize it.  It's weird because you have to move around a bit when it's a big picture, but it has worked for me.  I have even gone in and edited after I posted to adjust the size.

Thanks Carol.  I will try that tomorrow and see what happens.  I mean these pictures are huge. (and I certainly don't need to show every pore that I have!!!LOL)

Thanks again.  I'm off to read right now.

Hi ladies..if you have Windows you downsize the pictures first with a free download from microsoft

    http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

Then you load them to photobucket...you can further reduce the size there..if you want to...

Sueps, I too lost my period during CMF.  I think I am now in menopause (it has now been a year).  Yes this can make you feel low, as well as everything else going on with this disease.Chemo can affect memory for a while.  Did you ask your doctor about "magic mouth wash"? Biotene is good to use daily too to help your gums and mouth area.  Hang in there and keep your doc. up to date with your symptoms.

Harley, I hear you, I have been hot flashing for a year now!  Just don't wear turtle neck sweaters any more, have a climate controlled prothesis, and carry a little battery operated fan for my purse, LOL.  This too shall pass---hopefully sooner than later!  Anyway, I guess it is better to be menopausal with bc, no matter what the type.

Rita, I'm looking forward to seeing the photos you will be posting!  It was so good to hear from you!

Lisa, I love the poppies (one of my favourites!).  We will have to wait until early June for those hear in Ontario, Canada!

Can you believe the snow today easterners?  Wow, never saw so much snow as this winter.Surprised

Don't worry about rads, many of us here have done it and can help you.  I had no problems whatsoever with it.  Just the daily trip to the hospital, other than that, really piece of cake!

Hi to all the other ladies here:  candie, annie, scmartin...

    Blessings,
