Pinkstock is in Ischua NY, about 2.5 hours south of Buffalo NY & Niagara Falls! and about the same distance north of Bradford PA. That's all I know!
Robin I sure wish there was a way you could be there! I would love to meet you and give you a big hug!

Going to a Red Hat thing tonight so I really should get some things done around here before I go.
Wish I could break the rules and have a drink! Will you all have a few for me?
    Cheers!

hugggsss, Donna--just gripes from a big city girl dropped in the boonies,,,no zoo, but wish all the critters were behind bars! I refuse to go outside after dark! I am perfecting my scream of terror--have it down fairly good--the bat on the kitchen counter when I tried to fill a bird feeder....the deer that "challenged" me one night when I went outside to get something out of the car....the friggin raccoon that was raiding the bird feeders and I was blaming the squirrels---------------and best story is before us in this house, a bear came up on the deck to get to the hummingbird feeder------

I love our house, our little place in paradise, but I want to see all this wildlife on TV--not in my house or my backyard!!!!! so, I drink!!!!

Junie - are you SURE you're not at the zoo? Where in Arkansas are you?

A bat on the kitchen counter? That would do me in, for sure. And a bear? Good Lord, girl! I'd be drinking too!

Got a last minute invite last night (from my boss) to see Billy Joel tonight in OK City. I've always been a fan, so I'm looking forward to it. Just wish it weren't on a "school night" as it will be after midnight when we get back to Tulsa. Guess I'll make sure boss doesn't expect me bright & early tomorrow morning!

Hope everyone is having a good day, and that Junie hasn't been eaten by a bear or bitten by a bat or coon.

    Cheers,
    Donna

Yep, I'm a bad mommy as I still drink! So report me or whatever but I'm all she has and if you think she'd be better off in a foster home.....

Actually, Avery is very well taken care of by everyone! She gets passed around work (now doesn't that sound bad!) from person to person because she is loved so much! The girl has more than enough 'aunts' and 'uncles' but since no child can be loved too much I'm happy to share her!

I've been dating but nothing new or exciting to report on!

I'm excited about the weather being nice here. I'm hoping to at least start my vegetable garden this weekend if not get it all in completely. Here in Chicago 'they' advise to wait until the 2nd or 3rd week in May to plant (for fear of frost) but I always chance it. Last year I lost the bet but that's what gardening is all about! The year before I got my veggies in before everyone else so I got it all that much sooner. Oh the joys of fresh vegetables!

Well, cheers to all the drinkers (and non-drinkers)!

Hi, Sam!! This is great--I can drink lots more 'cause I understood every word!!! Hpi Hpi Hrooya!!!! LOL!!

Donna, live about 3 hours east of Tulsa, a few miles north of Eureka Springs, Ark, in a little community called Holiday Island. Very rural.

MB--I'm fascinated to read all the planning your are doing for Pinkstock--no doubt it will be a fantastic time. Would love to be there, but can't crunch the dates to work out. Hope someone will post lots of pictures--with names! so we can all see what we've missed.

    Cheers, ladies--grabbing another ML!!!

OK- just a quickie as I have to watch Idol at this late time, just got home from work...
Sam, I am so dyslexic and my niece is dx with ADHD, I know if it was around when I was in grade school, I would have been too. I was the kid staring out the window, as the teacher spoke, woooshh! It all went in one ear and... you know! Art, music and religion were my best subjects then in HS, I enjoyed Psych and Sociolgy, all right brained stuff. I read and understood your distorted message way too easily. Maybe that is how my brain thinks!

Donna, so jealous, I have seen BJ about 5 times in concert and never thought I'd miss one, but I just did. I have alot of old Billy Joel on my iPod so we can listen and sing while we are driving. Funny, I still say "school-night" too!

Junie, I hope your new deck has lots of lights or is screened in, it sounds dangerous out there. I want you to come to Pinkstock, you know there is a casino nearby and we are going, I think Fri night.

Jay- give sweet Avery a hug from Aunt Christine, my nieces and nephews call me Auntie. Next time I am in Chicago, it will be the meet Avery trip. BTW, love your city- WAY TOO MUCH FUN for us 40 somethings, acting like we're 20!

Hi All - I just realized that the majority of us live in the midwest. We have Illinois, Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, (stretching it for Tennessee)and Kansas. Maybe we will just have to plan a meeting with lots of alcohol.

Robin - enjoy your time off - I am real sick of working!!! I work out of my house and some days it is so hard to keep working especially when the weather is great and the pool is calling my name. I think I would prefer to work 1/2 time - that way won't get to bored but would give me plenty of free time.

DH and I are headed to Deadwood, SD in two weeks for his big "50" - I really dread that number!! We usually go to Vegas but decided to do something different. I have never seen Mt Rushmore or Crazy Horse, and of course we chose to stay in Deadwood for the casino's. Christine and Junie - wanna come??? Janice, you need to keep us posted with new pictures of Avery as she grows. I can't wait to have a grandbaby to spoil - oldest son is getting married in Sept so I hope that is a good place to start.

Must get back to work. Donna, hope you enjoyed Billy Joel

OMG! You're not gonna believe this one sistas ~

So my boss Shari and her friend Tammy have decent BJ tickets. Amanda and I have the "nosebleed" tickets. We get to the arena and I start up the escalator to nosebleed level, when I notice Amanda is talking to a man, and I'm calling out to her, but she's ignoring me, so I start walking DOWN the escalator that's going UP with lots of people on it (I don't recommend it) and about broke my neck trying to get back to Amanda so we didn't get separated in the crowd.

This guy says he's got 2 tickets left that are the best seats in the house and they're FREE. Being the skeptic that I am, I said, "Amanda, it's a scam, come on, let's go to our seats". The guy said he's a roadie with the band. I ask to see his credentials and he shows me some crappy looking badge thing covered in plastic, and I said "anyone could print that off the Internet". Amanda is starting to glare at me now...then the guy says "let me show you where these seats are, and if you STILL want to take the escalator to your other seats, feel free. Then he points at me and says "and YOU have to sleep with me." I said, "okay, whatever."

So, we go walking towards the stage on the lower level and I said "how far are we going"? and he said "UNTIL YOU HIT THE STAGE".

I am still in shock. We were CLOSER than first row. Apparently, there are about 25 tickets they give away right before the show starts....ironically, they were all given to women - go figure. Anyway, I could sit in my seat and actually touch the stage, as the seats were between the security guys and the stage! But of course we stood up during the entire concert.

Touched BJ twice! Once, he leaned down and I patted the back of his thigh, then shook hands with him later. Then after the concert was over, the drummer gave Amanda and me BOTH sets of drumsticks he used during the concert! Amanda and I decided we'd be generous and share the drumsticks with Shari and Tammy, since neither of us were willing to give up our primo seats to trade with the person (Shari) who bought the tickets to start with and drove there and back!

Anywho - it was one of the most awesome times ever! I have never been anywhere near that close to the stage at a concert before! Now if I can just get that close for Aerosmith.....

BTW - I did not sleep with anyone other than my cat last night.

    Cheers,

    Donna

Donna- jealous, jealous, jealous! Gotta make sure I get a new adapter for my iPod to use on Thelma and Louise trip. I don't think we will spend more than a few hrs in the car, but I hope you don't mind, I love to sing along. Reminds me of Oprah and Gayle's trip and Gayle was singing the whole time, really pissing Oprah off. lol, Oh, BTW, I hear I snore too. I don't believe it, but you might want earplugs for the car and the hotel!
Robin, follow me anywhere and your babies (and dd) are welcome, NO "evil" in my house!
Some of the Northerners think MO is is the south. Believe me we do have some southerners here in MO. I guess it is a matter of the Mason-Dixon line. I lived in the south for awhile and loved the food, traditions and accent, you know MO has no accent.
    Gotta run for Idol-
    Later...
