Hugggssssss, Sam--WIN BIG!!!!!! Think we're gonna road trip it to Tunica end of May.......then, will be waiting to hear when/where next work conf is for your DH!!!!! And, hope to be able to meet up. In the meantime, when you have your regular trip to BV--the bar is open here!!!!!
Hope to see you!!!0 -
Hey Chicas -
Welcome back Robin!!! I know you've been having a rough time - but you're right - I'll never forget you! Are you able to have a cold Bud Light? If not, guess I'll have to drink one for you
I might need to start hanging out at the Circle the Wagons thread pity tent or whatever it's called. I have a bilateral MRI scheduled for Mon 4/9. Last 2 mammos have come back with additional microcalcs and labled "probably benign".
Since my dx (Oct '04) was stage 1, no node involvement, it's unlikely there's anything going on, but at least I'll have some clarity one way or the other. I really do think it will indicate NED, but I am getting a little nervous....some of it is because I was told I'd be lying on my stomach with my breasts in a "special container" for at least 1 hour. I've never had an MRI and can be claustrophobic....maybe I should sneak a little Captain Morgan in with me
Moving on....I'm getting my old deck torn out tomorrow, and a new one built! I'm really excited, as the old deck is about to literally fall apart, and probably isn't even safe to be on. And I LOVE to take my Sunday coffee and the newspaper and sit outside when the weather's nice.
Not sure how I'll pay for it yet, but I'll worry about that later!
Cheers my friends!

(((Donna)))
I have my own thoughts on what is going on with this body of mine.....
I'm a bit nervous about my onc visit this month.....
It's scotch tonight for me, for reasons I cannot go into here.....
Cheers ladies!!!

(demons, I suppose)0 -
Oh hey, Donna, you planning a party for that new deck???
(inquiring minds want to know...)
Jaybird0 -
Who needs a reason for a good scotch??? Try not to borrow trouble as my grandma use to say. Hug the baby for me...I love how their little necks smell
Hugs

Ready to go to sleep, of course it is 1am! Worked tonight then watched Idol (I know, I'm a freak, watching the Idol tape at midnight) Just had to check in. Donna and Janis, I pray for only good results for you both.
Donna, btw, my original dx was 10/04 also, how wierd, now we are Thelma and Louise. My first appt after finding my first lump was 10/04/04, lumpectomy on 10/19 and the rt side mast, not until 12/05/04 What a crazy few months. You guys have brought back all of those feelings. We are here for each other.
Deb, I have a new niece/Goddaughter and I was just saying, I love how she smells, passing her around, saying, "smell her" lol
Junie and Sam- wish you were coming to Pinkstock, After that trip, I may not be able to make it back to Vegas in Nov. Have either of you heard from our Australian friend?
Sam -happy 50th to DH!
love to all0 -
Donna, I've had an MRI and they are a little tight. Maybe your doc could give you some Valium or whatever. That does help. Don't worry about it though, it's really a piece of cake.

((Janis)) back at ya sista.

I didn't even think about a party on the new deck - What's wrong with me, I MUST be losing my mind! Yes, I think that's an excellent excuse for a party! (like I need a good excuse)
I'll let you all know when it's finished and we'll have a deck party. But it won't be stained or painted yet (haven't decided yet what I'm going to do) so don't spill anything
Cheers!
Donna0 -
Donna are you saying beer is not a good stain? Geesh, all these rules.
Not checked in for a while but that doesnt mean I havent been drinking.
thinking of you all and hoping everybody gets good results.

Oh hell, Donna, I'm just plain 'ole retarded (no offence anyone, okay?) because I don't see my onc until May!!! I swear it's not chemo-brain nor Tamoxifen brain or any other 'brain thing', I'm just confused! I got so used to seeing him (used to be 'her', talk about confusing!) every 3 months that April would be the three month mark but I've graduated to every-four-months now so who the hell can remember all these appointments? Anyway, good luck to you!!!
I'm fairly good with a paint brush - perhaps a road trip out there is in order? Staining (real, true staining, not alcohol spills) needs to be done in cool weather, no humidity. Just FYI...
Party on Gals!

Deb, I was just having a bad day (week???), thus the scotch. Stress over going back to work and being broke is all. Avery, while a normal baby in all respects, is just perfect so no worries there!

Christine--would love to attend Pinkstock--it sounds great--but the timing is just not good for me. I have heard from our Aussie friend--bought a new condo and is doing well--would love another trip back to US......but have not heard anything recently. Wasn't she just the sweetest person!!
Donna--we have a new deck also, and are at loggerheads over the paint/stain question. Luckily, we've been told to let the wood age til end of summer before we do anything! Hopefully, by then we can agree on something.
Somebody opened a door and let a blast of cold Canadian air come down our way! I'm back into sweats to sleep in and wearing a heavy jacket during the day. grrrrrrr!!!
Oh well--a cold ML tastes good whatever the weather!!!
huggggsssss, junie0 -
Haven't been much of a drinker for 2 reasons... bad guy experience when HE was drunk... then I had hepititas once. But lately I enjoy wine once in a while, and my cardiologist suggested I start drinking a little red wine. Problem is I like sweet wine. ANYONE KNOW OF A GOOD SWEET RED WINE??? In the mean time, I am enjoying a nightly bit of white (pink) zinfindel!!!

Hi y'all! Back form Sunny San Diego! Was really sad to leave but I had to get back to work as it was not a planned trip. My Dad is doing well and I could use a good stiff drink to relax but I think the tired bug just cought up with me. Think I will just go climb in my bed and sleep for a little while.
Good to be home Cheers to all!0 -
Hi Girls, just gotta tell you a funny story, if I don't Janis, is likely the only one to see it. I have been trying the OLD (on-line dating) thing and his is what happened tonight:
Quote:
One of the guys I have been chatting with, just gave me his email it is XXXXX @ radonc.XXX.com OMG, rad-onc! I knew he worked at a hosp, but didn't know what he did, I did not have rads, but my aunt starts rads there tomorrow!
Well.maybe he will better understand what I have been thru?
Weird, huh? I kinda feel more comfortable now, like dating your doc?0 -
Hey Girls,
How the hell are you? I have missed you all so much.
Donna - that sucks about the hot water, I went through something similar back in Jan when the pipes in my house froze and burst.........I feel your pain. Hope all is better.
JayBird, How is YOUR daughter, avery? I bet she is just the love of your life.
OK I am jobless again, last job I had was temp and man they boss was a Dick, that was his name and he wore it well. Anyhow I'm sending resumes out left and right and am sure I will get something.
Drinking like a fish. I don't know why it does not scare me that I drink so much being ER and PR positive. Should I be? Who the hell knows, life it is what it is and when it is your turn it is your turn, so have fun till than.
Randi0 -
Randi - Good luck with the job hunt. I'm sure since the last boss was suck a dick you were glad it was only temporary!!
Janis - thanks so much for sending the e-mail with the link to the beautiful pictures of you and Avery. I love the one with the pink and purple balloons flying around you both. You look like such a happy mommy.
Just had to take a break from work and log on. Can't wait for tax season to be over with. I do plan on bending my elbow alot this weekend as we have 2 parties to attend.

It was kinda nice going to work today. guess it helped that it was a beatiful sunny day here today too! although I missed not being out in it.
Happy Birthday to your sis Janis.
Randy I'm sure you'll find a great job soon.
Sam so you want to do my taxes too??? I'm just being lazy and now have to spend the weekend getting them done

Just popping in...I'm about 99% sure I'm going to do the walk with you! One question though...can we sneak wine into our tent? LOL
btw - What is your team name? Should I register uder that name?0 -
Laura, I'm solo this time (so far). Sure, sneak in some wine! I plan on a flask of scotch.....
Still trying to fundraise - ugh! If I don't make it I can't walk but I'm really trying.....
If you register without a team you can still connect with a team afterwards. We should talk. Call me soon?

Hi sistas ~
Just finished getting a massage at BF's house. Maybe I'll now I'll actually sleep for the first time in 4 days. Having a major case of insomnia, and haven't slept more than 4 hours a night for 4 nights. Sleep is probably overrated anyway.
My deck is almost finished! I think it will be the nicest part of the house. I definitely need to have a deck party when it's all done. WooHoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Been drinking a Coppola Claret tonight. Tasty.... I just want to sleep dammit! WTF?
Hope everyone is having a good weekend.
Hoppy Easter
Cheers,
Donna0 -
Donna-
I've been having trouble sleeping too....getting to bed late and then being WIDE fricking awake at 3:00 in the morning.
Last night I waged war on insomnia...took a 2 hour bath, had a glass of wine and then was in bed at 10:00. I got warmed up and slept like a baby until 7:00 this morning.
I had a friend who does Reiki tell me I could fool my sleep cycle if I get my whole body warm in a long bath, cool off for 30 minutes or so and then crawl into a warm bed. I don't know if it worked or I was just so damn tired that I finally fell asleep for good. I tmight be worth a try. Worse case you get a warm bath out of the deal.
Good luck on the sleep.
Hugs
Deb C0 -
Just checking in hope all you lovely ladies had a wonderful Easter.
No drinking for me until I get these taxes done. I'm finding I didn't keep my books very will during chemo and am scrounging for all my recipts. Anyone know what can be taking on a refi for my house? I have to do the business quarterly too. I should have had these done already but with being out of town I got behind.
Cheers to all0 -
