    MBCR,

What a cause for celebration.  I applaud anyone who can face chemo or rads.  I took a more cowardice way out and had a prophylactic mastectomy.  I raise my glass to you.

    Hunky,

I'll hold your umbrella anytime.  We'll have Jocks and Pants massage your feet.  We'll all drink from the margarita fountain until they're through.

    Junie and Kathy,

Thank you so much for meeting and posting the picture.  I'm sure the guy was twitchy about you two foxy ladies posing with him

    Jaybird,

I'm sorry you're so sad about recent passings.  They lived big.  I'll buy you a birthday beverage.

    Bottoms up y'all

    CAZ

Hi gals! Having a glass of White Zin...but the bar is soooo quiet. Where is everyone??? I worked outside all day, so really enjoyed getting into the hot tub a little while ago, esp cause Jocks and Pants didn't have anyone else to tend to, so they pampered me rotten!

MBCR, Hope you're enjoying our Hot Tatties Lounge, and esp our hunky bartenders, "Pants" and "Jocks". Today is the day to catch up on all the drinking you have been missing! Glad you joined us here. I'm raising a glass to you....

    Pau Hana,

MBCR...wow...done with that daily trip to rad land.  Cheers to you .  My side effects lasted a long time after I was done and I pray yours do not.  Hope you have a great time here at the lounge.  A great bunch of girls hang here.  Dee, glad to see you again...hope this weekend finds everyone feeling no pain.  I want to go in the pool.  I just went for a 20 minute walk, and believe me, that is a long walk for me.  .  I am walking upright a bit better.  I know I look like someone totally F'd up when I am walking so I take my husband with me in case I fall down or the police show up.  I would have to show them my surgery scars to avoid a car ride downtown.  To the rest of all my lounge friends....I shall be looking forward to a well decorated lounge and a LOT of FUN and LAUGHS this weekend.  You know you are all the greatest.  Lori, 107 degrees?  Whooooe.....get in the pool girl   Stormy?  I know you are getting a little thirsty!  Come out, come out, wherever you are!!!!  HunkyD

Stormy was board on the 27th, posted in "the next person" thread. Below is her comment. Stormy we hope you are ok, please check in with us and I appologize for snooping, but was worried about you.

Dee, you need to stop working so much and spend more time here at the lounge! Glad you could stop by.

Junie, you could always move! Just kidding of course, I know you must be excited to see your kids and grandkids. And your fur baby will have someone to play with, once again! Have a blast.

Hunky, you ALWAYS make me laugh. Maybe you can have Pants accompany you on your next walk. Yes, it has been hot, but no matter how hot is here, it is always hotter where where CAZ is, by at least 10 degrees.

Gearing up for the fireworks, hope I can stay awake! Went to bed at 7 last night, for some reason I was just more tired than usual! Didn't even have a beer. Dang!

    Love you all

It's 5:00pm here and I have started on the beers.  Oh, they are cold and delicious.  Lori, are you getting excited for your makeover?  I would think it would be a lot of fun. I would only request for more blonde highlights in mine, then whatever they wanted, I would say go for.  Junie.....being out in the sticks, at least you probably don't have to worry about a whole lot of neighborhood noise with fireworks.  Many puppies just can't take it, and he(she) might not be as likely to pittle all over.  Hopefully you will have a great time with the kids and grandkids.  Jocks and Pants are visiting with some shady guys selling illegal fireworks.  I think we are going to have quite a display, and I hope it isn't of our bouncers shorts sliding down while lighting the damn things. CAZ...how are you healing?  Hope you are about there.  I have an appt Monday.  How long do they leave that tape on my incisions?  Guess I will find out a lot more Monday. Jaybird...hope you are well on the road to butt recovery and enjoyed your birthday.  I'm with you, I can't wait to get past this surgery pain and feel a little better.  Wahine, Stormy, Jules, MBCR, and everyone else I missed, here's a toast to our entire group...happy Friday before the 4th.    HunkyD

Ok, grabbing floaties with drink holders, and throwing them in the pool. I am watching fireworks from there! For those of you that can't go in the pool, Jocks and Pants will take you over to the floating bar in the little boat they rented just for the occasion.

Can I have one those beers Hunky?

Sneaking in for as many quick cold ones as I can slam down!!!  Lord, have mercy!  It stormed all morning; finally got a break and shipped everyone off to take a boat ride and swim and get rid of some of that blasted kid energy.    I stayed home on the pretense of getting supper started.   (And enjoy a few moments of silence!!!)   Think I'm getting old!   Goldie, I laughed out loud--I DID move!.   When I retired.  We're about 4 hours in every direction from kids/grandkids.   Knew if I stayed local, I'd be babysitting every other day!   It is fun to have them all here, but so loud and hectic!

Happy Holiday to all--think the "big" kids have brought enough fireworks that we'll be happily entertained later this evening.   Ahhhhhh--those quiet ML's tasted really good.   Now, off to make good on my promise of dinner.     later.............love, you all, junie

    Happy July 4th!!!

I haven't been drinking much (still on-and-off the Vicodin) but did have two 1664's in Lyon last night with dinner. Brought back 4 bottles of red wine and a 6-pack of 1664 (I took a very empty suitcase!) and that should last me for a while. (brought back some olives and chocolate, too!) My dad will get one bottle as a late Father's Day gift. My system is still out of whack so haven't even felt like eating let alone drinking but hopefully that will change soon! Still waiting for that butt rub from Pants and/or Jocks.....

    Cheers!

Hi gals! Hope everyone had a SAFE 4th of July! We almost had a big tragedy....DH was careless while cooking chicken on the grill as we were inside eating hamburgers. He left the grill cover on the metal side (on the covered extra burner) and when he remembered to check on it, the grill was ablaze cause the cover caught on fire, and also the deck was ablaze higher than the railing! He unhooked the gas tank, which was scary cause it could have exploded any minute with him right there, and I had to run across the huge yard to get the hose, and luckily we were able to put it out. He kept telling me to get the fire extinguisher and for the life of me I couldn't think of where it was (kept envisioning where it was in previous homes!). It was so scary, cause we have a covered deck, so lots of wood built everywhere, and the grill was just about 6-7 ft from the walls of the house. I could just see it all burning up while we would be waiting for the fire trucks! So, luckily we were able to put it out. Of course our 2 outside dogs had a field day inside the house while this was going on...they took advantage of us leaving the door open...lol. Glad they weren't hurt...but wonder why they didn't at least bark to alert us to the fire, because they prob were right on the deck. Assesing the damage..the custom deck railing which I built right after my bc dx hopefully can be fixed (but I'm not looking forward to redoing all that work!), and it looks like just 3 long (15-16') deck boards have to be replaced. Some others just have small burnt areas that I hope to be able to sand out. But oh how bad it could have been!! And it all happens so fast!!! DH will have to try to replace the deck boards, but I will be stuck with the other repairs. Junie had a fire event happen at her house too, on the same day....luckily it was discovered before her house burnt down too!!! But I'll let her tell you about it.

So, I've just been sorta bummed out about it all, and haven't felt like being at the bar. Been working so hard everyday in this hot sun on other repairs, and this just sorta took me over the edge (I had been working outside all day before this happened so was already tired). Getting back to my old self now, so will be back having fun with you all. And oh how I have missed our Pants and Jocks...even Hunk! Where were they when I needed so much attention...oh I know...they were giving Jaybird that butt rub! You are right Lori, I think that is where Jaybird and the Tattie Tenders are. OK Jaybird, as soon as they're done, you need to share them with us too. Sounds like you still had to fly while you are recovering....don't overdo.

Hope everyone is having a good day! Looks like I have the pool to myself for awhile....sorta quiet though. Oh hi Lori, now I see you....how did you get that fantastic looking drink? I can't find our Tattie Tenders anywhere.

    Cheers,

    Kathy

Oh Kathy, I am so sorry! But oh so glad everyone is ok. Junie too, although we have not heard her story. Fires are scary. Had a close call myself, but mine was IN the house. I had some water on with a little bit of butter in it. Think I was making some stove top stuffing. Went outside, got distracted. When I went in I saw it on the stove. Cussed! And lifted the lid off. When I did "poof" Big Fire. Scared me to death. I knew not to put water on it, but I couldn't get to anything else fast enough. So in the sink it went with water. And POOF again, even bigger fire. My brand new kitchen. Ceiling all black, cinged my curtains. I was a mess. So I can kind of relate girls! Again, just so glad you all ok! (Thank you God)

    Hugs to all of you

OMG Lori....that really must have been scary...and so much to do to have to fix everything. Junie's was in the kitchen too....but could have been MUCH worse! Thank you for your concern. I thought DH would get the deck boards up, but although he used his strength to pry up one long board, I have had to use the circular saw and jigsaw to cut 2 others off so we won't have to replace the whole lengths of them. Scary using the circular saw when you have to kneel down to use it! I am not a carpenter by any means, so ALWAYS pray before I cut. We're replacing the window trims on the "playhouse" (really garden shed but had to get by covenant committee!), with composite stuff so it won't rot, so I'm sorta in the middle of lots of projects right now! Dh is the one who runs errands to get the stuff, but I have to put it to use.

On another note, not sure if I mentioned earlier that I have heard from Nettie (cloudhowe) and she is doing fine...just had something happen to her laptop and not on the computer as much now. I had PM'd Stormy1 a week ago and haven't heard from her yet. Have you heard from her, Lori? Sure hope she has recovered okay. If you get online here Stormy, PLEASE let us know how you are doing! We miss you!

Glad that Jaybird released Pants and Jocks back to the HTL!!! So nice to have them pamper us and have all those yummy drinks at our beck and call. Bar is still empty though...hope all you gals are okay and just been busy with other things. Looks like Lori is enjoying the slide right now...along with a nice cool drink....Pants just holds the drink in the pool for her when she lands in the water. Boy, do we have it made in the shade (thats sure an old expression...lol)!

    Bottoms Up,

    Kathy

Ok, glad to know Nettie is ok! As for Stormy, I do not talk to her. I just checked her profile and her last log in was on June 27th.

You be careful with those tools. The one I hate the most is the nail gun! I don't hardly ever have to use any of them, but when I do, I am scared. Scares me just to have to hand that nail gun to Darrell! I don't like real guns either.

    Bottoming up with ya Kathy.

Wow, sounds like a couple of you did have some fireworks.  Nothing nearly that exciting for me and I am glad.  Hopefully you can get things put back together again and put that memory to bed for a while.  I didn't realize my surgery was going to take this long to get me back on my feet.  One more surgery to go in October.  Lori getting married...I'm getting surgery.  Ugh!

I have PM'd Stormy and the last time I heard back from her was on the 27th. She had been in the hospital with muscle spasms for nine days and was getting her meds under control but was home again like Lori said on the 27th and talking about Cooper.  Haven't heard anything since.  I pray she is just busy or maybe even enjoying a vacation.

I am just low on energy...so, I guess I will join you at the pool for a cool one.  I don't think I am even supposed to go in the pool yet. I'll just sit in the shade with my cold bottle of beer.  I think Pants's a$$ is dragging today too,  He had to clean the pool after the 4th.  Maybe he will sit with me and keep me company.  Here's to the bottoms up call!!!   HunkyD

Hey, bar buds and lounge ladies--I survived 6 days of kids/grandkids!   I earned my drinks tonight!!!   Our fire wasn't nearly as awful as Wahine's; it was caught in the nick of time.   Dinner was baking in oven and I went inside to check on it.   Oldest grandson (12) was making himself a grilled cheese sandwich because he said he didn't like chicken (which is bs and later he ate more chicken than anyone, but...)   After he got out of the way, I had my son get the pans of chicken out and set on top of the stove so I could check and put some bbq sauce on...son put pans back in oven and laid the oven mitts on top of the stove on the side that no one had been cooking on......and we go back outside.  All kids playing out in yard and grown-ups on the deck enjoying drinks.   Hubby goes back in house a few minutes later to make a new drink and comes out holding a blackened, smoldering oven mitt in his hand--Who's trying to burn the house down!!???  The other mitt had been in flames when he walked into the kitchen and he threw it into the kitchen sink and had water running over it.   I about had a heart attack with all the "what if's"...luckily, the oven mitts are cheap to replace.   All the burned crap on the stove top was scraped off with a razor blade.   What we are guessing is that gs thought he'd turned off the burner he was cooking on but turned on the other side of the stove...anyways, one of life's little heart-stopping moments.    I'll admit to having a bit of a meltdown and having to go off to bathroom for a little cry and mental regrouping.   And then, I had a LOT to drink!!!

If Jocks and Pants are getting overloaded, maybe we can put in a call to Tunica and see if Hunk's available to help out!   For now, I'm so content to sit at the bar and not hear kid's screaming!!!   Ahhhhhhhh!

    hugggsssss to all!!!!!

Well, still enjoying this Happy Hour! Getting cooler out here by the pool..very nice! I see Pants lit some tiki torches for us to enjoy. HunkyD, you are doing amazing after having the tram surgery! It will take quite awhile to recover fully from that. Sorry you have to have another surgery in Oct. Seems like it never ends, doesn't it? If I was told at the beginning of this "journey" that I wouldn't be all done till over a year has passed, I don't know how I would have taken that. But it will take about a year and a half for me, and that is ok, now.

Junie, Sooooooo glad you have the house to yourselves now. That was quite a crowd you had! I am glad the bar is so quiet tonight so you can drink in peace. BUT when you get lonely, come out by the pool and join us! It is so pretty out here with the torches lit.

I missed seeing all the Michael Jackson stuff today....but I am raising my glass to him...and to his beautiful kids. Will watch the specials on him tonight. He sure was an amazing entertainer. What a loss. And his kids were so close to him. It is so sad. Here's to you, Michael!

    Whow,

Sounds like we need some firemen on standby.  I'm glad you guys are okay, Kathy and Junie.  When we moved to our condo in '07, I got my first gas stove top.  It still scares the bejeezus out of me.

We had a pleasantly quiet holiday with friends.  I finally tried a beer I've been looking for, HopStoopid.  It's my new BFF.

Hunky, I have one more touch up appointment for the tatts, but otherwise I'm done.  I know it's a long road, but hang in there.  How about a beverage?

Jaybird, I love your style.  Do you pack edible clothing to make space for alcohol?

Lori, let's sample some champagne and interview firemen.

CAZ, Huh????? HOPSTOOPID???? Never heard of it, but love the name! What type of beer is it?You and Lori find some good looking firemen for us, okay? You know, firemen usually are good looking, aren't they.

Something I learned this weekend...buy a fire extinguisher to keep on the deck in case of a grill fire! Also, just FYI..my DD had a fire on her smooth top stove. Didn't know that was possible, but when something goes over the edge of the pan, it can happen on that surface too! So....be careful ladies!!!!

    Hugs,

CAZ, I pack NO clothing when I'm stocking up on alcohol!   Laughing  j/k I actually don't bring back alcohol all the time, maybe just a bottle now and again, but since I rarely get to France anymore I went with a mostly empty suitcase and filled it up with my fave goodies!

I haven't really been drinking since my surgery but plan to ride that wagon again soon! I brought back some Irish Cream for my mother (not Bailey's) but she doesn't like it so I guess I'll have to drink it! (I like it) I'm going back to Shannon tomorrow and will probably bring back another bottle just because it's a brand that isn't available in the States. I haven't been to Scotland in a while but will definitely buy some Scotch (aka Whiskey as they call it) the next time I'm there.

Well, cheers to MJ! He certainly had talent!

Wow Lori....you sure found some firemen!!! Now who is going to start the fire? Or shall we just pretend and call them on a false alarm? Once they arrive, WE will be hot enough..lol. Neat about the Pau Hana street in Hawaii! What island is it on? And you can tell them you know the meaning of their street. So glad your business is really taking off. Did you tell them you are getting married there? BYW, have you decided on a location? I would have loved to have attended, but my parents want to come here in October, and we won't get home from Australia till after the middle of Sept. BUT, I would have asked you if it would be okay, first....not to worry!

Oh, Jaybird...I am envious..I still want to get to Ireland some day. Any tips on what cities to definately go to, and which time of year is best? I have heard May is good I think. I'll help you drink the Irish Cream...that is, only if you can't finish it yourself!

Cute song Debbie, and WELCOME to the Hot Tattie's Lounge! Sure is lively tonight, and looks like your song is catching on....cause you know we all like to party here. Sorry chemo got the best of you today, but when you feel better, read back several pages and look at the pics that were posted of our lounge and the Banana Hammock swim-up pool bar. AND get a look at our "Tattie Tenders", Pants and Jocks. We all had a part in thinking of the names and the clever ones here posted pictures. Really a fun place to be, when you need to relax and get away from it all. The ladies here are a blast! Raising a glass to welcome you here....
