Junie, darn ya girl. He would be my choice too. I hope you share.

Kathy, I did tell the gal in HI everything. We got quite a laugh out of it. I just couldn't belive it when she said she lived on "Pau Hana". Of course I thought of you immediately!

Debbie, welcome. We hope you become a regular when you are feeling better. Or heck, just come here to feel better. I am sure it will help! I will lift your spirit, it does mine! Love the song.

Edible undies for Jaybird, that was a good one. Cute!

Holy Heat!  I say hire them boys for fire!  Thanks for the pic Lori.  Hope today finds everyone feeling well.  Welcome Debbie.  Sorry you feel a bit lousy.  This is a good place to relax other than now it looking like the possibility of a cat fight over the new firemen.  This place is hopping.  Thanks for all the drinks and encouragement you have all given me.  CAZ..hope you are healing up nicely.  Junie...enjoy some quiet time here now after the oven mitts.  Jaybird, you certainly have suitcase savy!   Dee, good to see you back.  Wahine..I'm with you, I don't want a fire around here, so let's just call the fire boys with a hot ?kitty up a tree story or something like that!  HunkyD  Edited to add (Ovenmitt)

well, CRAP!!!  somehow lost my most eloquent post welcoming Debbie; extolling my love of 1664--am asking that the bar stock it and maybe Jaybird will hang around more when she's in town  And, no cat fights--I'm willing to share!!!

Bottoms up, girls--going to enjoy the bar tonight, and the slide, and the pool, and the hammocks, and No. 2  !!!

Well, I haven't tried "HopStoopid" beer yet, but tonight I had "Shock Top" beer at TGI Fridays....it was really good. Its a Belgian-Style Wheat Ale from Anheuser-Busch. Anyone else tried this one? I just asked Pants if he would stock it in the bar so you all could try it too. Cheers!

Wahine, I have had the "white" ale shock top many times and I like it. I work for AB Inbev so I get to try alot of different beer and ales.

    Cheers!

Dee, just remember...I think you were laying right in that exact spot sh!tfaced where the fireboys are standing not to long ago.  Maybe you are drunk, LOL...or maybe the kitty came over and lapped up some "HopStupid" beer someone left sitting around by the pool and is drunk!  No offense please....I am just being stupid.  I am off pain pills now and things aren't normal.  HunkyD

Will have to try some of these new beers!  YUM!

YAY...Glad you're off the pain meds now, HunkyD! (I "think" that is a good thing, right???). Hope things get back to feeling like "normal" soon. Now can you join us drinking here again? Cheers!

Dee, I thought the cat was climbing up a palm frond....I think HunkyD got it in the right place. BUT hey, you aren't supposed to be looking at the darn cat....look at the hot firemen instead!!! How neat that you can try out all those beers. Any other good ones we should stock here at the bar? I'm sure Jocks and Pants would oblige.

Pau Hana time everyone! Drink up!!!

I missed the cat, til just now! Hunky you are soooo good! Maybe you need more pain pills, to be normal! JK. Glad you are off and ready for some drinking!

Dee, I think we should go with "we are drunk". That cat looks like it's ready to pounce on our boys!

Kathy, as for my customer in HI, there are in Makawao. And of course you could have come to the wedding if you were there. We are still doing Kauai and "Blue Hawaii" thing. Might even be having the guy that was actually in the movie, play the ukelali (sp).

Anyways, I am off in the morning for my makeover. Leaving here around 5 am, not real excited about that, let me tell ya. Free happy hour at the Embassy 5:30 - 7:30. Come join me! Back on Sunday, and will post pics of the new me as soon as I can.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

    Hugs & Cheers

    Hi Drinkin' Buds~

Haven't posted in forever.  Seems like I always say that.  I read back a few pages....didn't read ALL the way back, but it sounds like we need some firemen in this group! Glad nobody got hurt...although I wouldn't mind being resuscitated by one of those firemen...

Lori - you've got it goin on girl!  LOVE your dress and ring!  How exciting!!!  What's this about a makeover?  You are gorgeous already!!!

Kathy & Junie - great pic!  I'd recognize that Miller Lite anywhere LOL  Looks like you girls were having fun!

Hunky - your pics crack me up!  I think I remember scuba diving in the pool?  Or did I dream that?  Or maybe I was just drunk and THOUGHT I saw that Cool

Been working, working, working.  The "wicked witch of the west" (my boss) is such a total bitch.  How the woman sleeps at night is beyond me.  I think I feel like I might be coming down with something and might not be able to make it into the office tomorrow.   What a bummer that would be....

Hope everyone is staying cool.  We've had hellish heat here.  (not like Lori) but in June we had several days over 100 which makes me scared of what July and Aug might bring....guess I'd better make sure I have plenty of cold drinks on hand Cool

    Cheers,

Hi Donna, So glad you are back at the lounge!! Here you can relax and not think about your bitch of a boss. And maybe tomorrow you can play hooky, just to have some time off. Don't want you sick though! However,I think the fireguys could make you feel better....

Lori, Your wedding plans sound so good...would love to hear all the plans. Sounds romantic and so special. Hope that guy plays the ukulele for you! My great-great-grandfather along with 2 other men, invented the ukulele...they came over from Madeira in the late 1800's and altered a portuguese instrument and came up with the uke. He was a skilled cabinetmaker, so really made beautiful ukuleles. Would love to have one of his! The King and Queen loved for him to play for them, and also when Princess Kauilani went to Europe for school, she took my g'g'grandfathers ukulele with her. Can I play it? No! But I do have one, and enjoy looking at it...lol.

    Hugs everyone,

    Kathy

Donna--so good to see you post--sounds like you're working much too hard!!!   We've been a little toasty here, too, but have had lots of rain--as usual!  When are you going back to Mexico to scuba????

Lori--happy makeover--I think that sounds like so much fun!  Can't wait to see pics--although I agree-you can't get much prettier!!

Hunky--got any extra pain pills?  Pass 'em around!  LOL!!!   Glad you are feeling better.!!  And, gonna admit that I had to go back several times before I saw the cat in the tree....sheesh!!!!

Bottoms Up!  This round is on me!!!

Junie, I do have extra pills.  I have been off them since Tuesday.  I went on two walks today but it was only 86 degrees here.  I still thought I was going to die.  I hate being a lethargic waste of crap.  But, I have had two major surgeries in 6.5 weeks.  I didn't like the "getting sawed in half" in the tummy part.  Nice flat tummy, but woohee....Jaybird....you take the butt rub...I'll take the back rub.  The pain pills are calling me tonight but I'll try to hold back.  Donna, I am so glad to see you back.  Hope if you were sick today you weren't really.  Don't get dehydrated.  Let me get you a drink.  Wonder how Lori's makeover was?  Wahine, that is neat about your great-great gp and the uke.  I don't really know anything about them but think they only have 4 strings?  Junie...I think one of those fire boys was at your house during the fire!  Bored & Opening Beer=HunkyD

gotta find me some HotStoopid beer!!!   Can't get the name out of my head!    If we're short-handed tonight it's because I've sent Jocks out on a scouting mission to finid jules....think she was having 'puter problems.   Hopefully, she'll be able to check in soon.

Had a strange rain shower this afternoon.  Sun shining, a few clouds, and it started pouring--hard--for TWO minutes.   Rain gage registered .10 inch--in two minutes--freaked me out!!   When hubby got home from playing golf, he said it was from that dark cloud that hovers over our house!!!

so..bellying up to the bar for some comfort and a few drinks!!!!!

Hunk....I got sh!tfaced?? When? I don't remember...lol Okay, what is the fireman on the right holding in his hand?. Kinda looks like an Xmas stocking. Kathy, I have tried alot of different kinds of beer but I keep coming back to Miller light. Sssshhhhh don't tell my boss. I used to drink Bud light but my mom brought some Miller over one day and that's what I been drinking ever since. And of course I love a good shot of tequila ... mmm mmm good. I have to say I have never heard of Hotstoopid beer. I sometimes get hot and stoopid after I've had about 10 of them though :) Junie, I read we are having another El Ninio this year so that may expaling the weird rains. Lori get in here with those makeover pics! See y'all later. Salute!

Brought back a  bottle of Jameson Gold Reserve and will report back as soon as I try it. Have scaled back on the scotch and have been more into beer lately, I guess it's a summer thing. Flying too much to drink really. Frown

Top 'o the mornin' gals! Stopped by for a quick swim and a bloody mary. Dee, I can't tell what he is holding either. Hunky.....help us here! I like Miller Lite too....and its junie's fav. When I am out and they have all these other beers I admit I feel a little wimpy if I order a Miller Lite...but thats funny that so many of us like it really well.

Junie....gotta get rid of that darn black cloud!!! You deserve a summer with bright sunny skies...and no big problems. Gotta let that ML truck go and visit someone else every once in a while. But lately you have sure needed it parked right outside! Here's to sunny skies and smooth times ahead (lifting my bloody mary).

Lori, Hope your makeover was fantastically fun, and you are happy with the results. We want to see pictures, you know! I think the firemen are waiting to see them too.

Jules, Come out, come out, wherever you are!

HunkyD, So nice to have our resident artist back....love what you add to all the pics you find! And to Donna, Dee, and everyone else....CHEERS!!!!

God!  I love this place!!!   I scrolled back up to see what was in No 3's hand, and YES--it is an oven mitt.   It looks exactly like the one that burst into flames--my favorite--it was decorated with hot chili peppers.    Too funny!

Grabbing a ML from the bar and heading out to the pool.   Pants will bring us out a bucket of iced down ML in just a bit.     Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!

Whoa, kind of slowed down in here Sunday.  That oven mitt and cat was pretty hard to see in that last pic.  That picture was I guess kind of like one of those "find the item" puzzles in the old Highlights magazines for children.  I think this Monday I will just dangle my feet in the water for a while and see what bites.  Happy Monday to ya all, HunkyD

Well, just in for a quickie and update.

The make over was a flop and a waste of $200. The haircut - she just took a little bit off, didn't thin it, layer it or anything. I think because I told her I wanted to grow it out. I did get highlights and like those. Make up was nothing more than what I do myself. The first picture of me was on June 30. Did my own hair and make up. The picture on the right, is right after the make over. I dunno.....I don't see a $200 difference!

HunkyD, be careful in the pool....but then you can always call for a rescue!

Oh Lori, you look beautiful (both before and after)! Thank you so much for posting your pictures. That is a lot of $ for a makeover though. There is a little difference in how they did your hair, and I like that, but I can't see any difference in how you did your makeup vs how they did it. You look so happy and vibrant in your pictures...terrific!!! I know you must miss your long hair, but I think your hairstyle is very flattering...you're going to drive Pants and Jocks nuts, I know that! You will look just gorgeous for your wedding; and your dress is to die for, too. Way to go, girl!!!

Hunky, waiting to see what might have "bitten" your feet as you dangled them in the pool. Never know what you're going to come up with...always creative and original! I love the pics you post...don't ever stop doing that!

Junie, hope you don't mind, but I had some of those iced down ML's...really hit the spot on this hot day! I'm sure they will replenish them pronto, though.

Well gals, hope everyone is doing great! I'm in the middle of happy hour myself...bar is kinda empty though. Maybe everyone is out at the pool.....

Lori....I think you look fabulous in both shots.  I don't see a lot of difference.  One is a closer shot and I think you do your makeup great yourself.  I can't shape my brows at all.  They came back in and then did a small partial dissappearing act not to long ago.  I pay $60 to highlight-foil my hair.  It is barely long enough to do that.  I would never highlight my hair at home.  Chemo made it come back in darker so I have been in twice for the highlight stuff.  My hair is not quite as long as yours but is very frustrating to work with.  Or not work with....I don't know how to do it yet.  One thing I can see is you have a very pretty face and neckline, so I like your hair slightly behind your ears or back a little.  You have the neck to show it off girl.  You will be lovely in your wedding for sure.  Thanks for posting the pics.  It is so nice for me..... PFC-R to see how far everyone else is.  I am currently more worried about post F Recon surgery than anything but it is so fun to see someone feeling good and looking good.  Wahine....I only got a nibble today.  Maybe tomorrow will be a better day.  I have Onc appt and bloodwork in the morning....yuk....makes me nervous....but I guess it will just be what it is.   P.S.  It's all you guys that give me the ideas for the pictures.....not my dull head.  Love you all....tipping a tall one to all....HunkyD

Lori--sorry that the make-over experience wasn't as fun as you'd hoped...but, I think you gave them the ultimate challenge--just looking at your before/after pics, I'd say they were hard pressed to improve one single bit what you gave them to work with!   Your "before" is absolutely great!!!

oooops--I just knocked Hunky into the pool--wow!  look who all's jumping in to rescure her!   Damn--she's getting mouth-to-mouth!!!!   Love those pictures--keep 'em coming!

Wahine--whew!!  Thought I'd drunk all that ML by myself--so glad to know that I had some help!!!

Happy HOT days to all...hot, steamy days for me--we keep getting these weird out of nowhere t-storms...

    hugggsssss to all!

Hey ladies, I hope everyone is having a nice day.

Lori- I agree with Junie.  It's hard to improve on gorgeous.  Your hairstyle is kicky and cool.  I have just enough body in my hair to make wavy or straight impossible.  My family is coming in this weekend, so I'm getting my hair cut today (my Mother hates my hair).  Twice a year I cut it just short enough to make a pony tail.  I haven't seen Cruella since before the mastectomy, so hopefully, we can make it through 5 days without discussing my weight (118#).  She so hoped that the stress of surgery would help me lose weight.  Oh listen to me, I guess I could use a drink.  Maybe Pants, Jocks and the firehunks can help me finish dusting.

Hunky- love the photo, but I, too, was so distracted by the firemen that I missed the cat and the oven mitt.  Great job. I hope you are comfortable and healing quickly.

I think I'll reward myself with another HopStoopid tonight.  I go for beer with a bite.  It is not an everyday beverage by any means.  Cheers to all.

You girls are the best! Thanks for the vote of confidence, although I am not impressed and don't feel any better about myself than I did before. But hey, my glass is always half FULL. I will just deal with it and be glad that I am alive and I have hair.....right???

CAZ, 118 lbs? I wish I had that to worry about! 150 - 155 here! Thank God I am 5'9". And you call your mom "Cruella"? Oh my! As for hair, she can hate if she wants! It's your head. My mother loves my hair, but of course how my turns out is about how she wears hers. Of course she has to get a perm tho to get the curl!

HunkyD, good luck on the doctor appt and bloodwork. Hope you don't have to wait too long for results.

Well, speaking about a half full glass................."PANTS, could ya fill me up doll?"

Hugs to all of you and thanks again.

WHEE.....it's HAPPY HOUR!!! Where is everyone? I can't believe the spread of food that Pants and Jocks laid out. They said today starts the first of many "Thrilling Thursdays".....and they have some special entertainment tonight! Hmmm....wonder what THAT means??!? Well, while I'm waiting for you gals to show up....I think I'll check out the sushi....yummmmm! Oh, and Pants, please bring me a Seagrams & Diet Coke please...with cherries.

CAZ, How did your hair turn out? Pictures, please!!! I am sorry your mom gives you such a hard time...but really....just 118 pounds? What I would give to weigh that little again. I hope you can get plastered here at the HTL beforehand, so you can just chill and not get upset if your mom makes any rude comments. Hoping your weekend will go better than expected!

How did your appt go, Hunky? Really hope everything is okay!!! How is the healing going? Be sure not to overdo....Jocks said he wants to wait on you "hand and foot"...and everything in-between....boy you have these tattie tenders trained right!

Hope all you gals are doing good....come on in and grab a barstool and lets have some good girl talk! BTW, what concert are you going to, Dee?

Oh hello my beautiful lounge.  I haven't been around since Junie accidently-on purpose knocked me in the pool.  It felt good Junie...I will say!!!!   I went back to work half days.  My doc doesn't know I did yet but I am just kind of doing desk and light work. So far so good, but boy, I am not getting my walks in.  94 degrees here.  I know thats chilly for CAZ and Lori probably but seems hot enough that when I get home I don't want to do my walk.  I check and make sure the fridge light still works instead.....my bad...I know.  I think I'll pull up a chair by wahine for Pau Hana, I am working again after all.  Thanks for the thoughts and best wishes for the 3 month dreaded onc appt. wahine and Lori.  It went OK.  I think he likes checking out the plastic surgeons work.  He was at first afraid to touch me but I told him go ahead.  He did a thorough node check, and  I think he was fairly impressed with the plastic surgeons work.  I am one month out from stage one recon.  Blood work was OK too....thank god!!!!!  Hey Dee...hope you have fun at the concert.  I love ya all....be here all night.  I want to know what is going on here tonight too.  HunkyD

I think Kathy,  maybe has had too much already! It was me Kathy, that had the hair and make up thingy, and if you had looked up a few posts, you would have seen, I posted a pic!  Orrrrrr......I missed something, and need more to drink! CAZ? You having something done with your hair?

OMG, I think you even commented, but now I am on the next page, already typing, and can't go back and look. Have another beer Lori! Maybe it's me that has had too much!

Hunky, so glad everything seems to be going well for you. It has been about that warm here too, too warm for walking for sure! It seems to have an affect on the hot flashes! As for CAZ, it has been 110-115 down in the Phoenix area. Which is where I am heading in the morning. Have an appt with a new onc. Hoping to find someone closer, so I don't have to travel to OK for follow up testing. (am I repeating myself again?)

Sure miss some of the girls, Nettie, Stormy, Jules..............where are ya girls?

Gonna grab me a cold one, and wait for the excitement. But I'll pass on the sushi Kat.

    Cheers!

    Lori
