Mornin' ladies,
2 FEET HOLY CHIT. Our dog would get lost in that, we couldn't even see him, come to think of it that has happened. And u and sadie are a perfect pair. Jeez Kim another place to work with drama, then I thought about the DMV our drama was not so much with workers but with customers, all the fights that started when people would be in line. lots of lines and over yrs. lots of fights with people going in an ambulance. None of us were allowed to get in any involvement of anyone fighting. A couple of times people actually died in front of us and people in line started to fight cuz now they had to wait longer and were all worked up. Oh not because of the death but they had to wait. One person fell right in front of me , all I did was go to his wife and I couldn't do a thing but put my arms around her. I was taking pictures and people were yelling at me to continue and he was laying right in front of the camera. I stopped everything wouldn't do anything but stay with the wife til someone came. The man died like 123 fast. There happened to be a paramedic that time..1 person out of maybe 100 in line and he came running. That happened a couple of times and people didn't seem to care except to get mad. Wow did that ever surprise me. How sad.
Lori u have done more than enough and I'm so glad u decided to do no more...NO MORE. That would be an invitation to some rare infection and u don't want that at all. U do enough doing everything around ur home that keeps u busy. I know I harp on this but u need harping some time ur too loving. This I know.
And JC u do do alot and wow it's great. It's really good for ur spirit tho, to be around people u care about and care about u. Of course limit urself but not to much.
OK think time my wine lovers. A nice bottle of Merlot around 20.00. Yea I know that's cheap but something should be good enough for people that drink every so often, well often enough but not all the time so their pallet isn't really on the top side of this. Please give me a couple of names to make sure we carry it around here. O Sandy urs will be around here so no problem.
Well screwed up again, locked myself out of my main thing for work on my puter. I don't know how I did it, but I'm trying to figure it out.
Everyone try to have a good day.

Mornin ladies,
Jeez it's so quiet in here. It's like a closed bar, well I guess this is kinda like that. I kno I'll be thrown in the pool cuz it takes me forever Some of my keys stick now. This is not easy. Chit I just woke up in the middle of this sentence. WTF is going on. I fall asleep whenever I'm doing things in like 1 minute all the time. I was never this bad. My phone just ran so I need to call them back I'll be by later.

Love the flying monkeys Jazzy.
Cami, have you told the doctor how you fall asleep at the drop of hat? I hope it never happens when you are upright and it causes you to fall.
Yep, quiet up in here! Went to town yesterday, leaving for Laughlin on Monday, back on Thursday.

Good Morning, Loungettes!Sorry to be MIA, been having some internet connection issues with an iced up satellite dish.Back on line now, though! I've had just a tad bit of stress at work this week, saying "no" to working extra hours twice. The traveling nurse and a new agency nurse have started working, so things should be easing off now. Things are getting very festive at work, with lots of decorations up and a pile of gifts for the long term care residents growing in the conference room. Staff members draw names and Secret Santa a resident (or two or three) and it's great fun. Sadie seems to like my more regular hours, she's started reminding me it's bedtime around 9 peeyem again. She still waits until I get out of bed before she gets up, though! This ayem I got up with the first alarm, she just laid there looking at me until I actually left the bedroom! I think she didn't believe I was actually getting up on the first alarm!
Goldie--yup, a couple of feet of snow on the ground. And rain predicted for next week. What a mess that's going to be! Your ski resort may well have the most snow in the country, up in the mountains I'm sure they got more than we have here! That poor man, I wonder just how many issues he has. I hope he's getting proper care now. If the neighbor lady wanted to feed the bunnies and birds, she's going to let herself in for a lot more trouble. I wonder if she realizes that.
Cammy Cat--people going out of the DMV in ambulances after fights in line? Now THAT is drama! And people actually died in front of you? Good Heavens, what a fustercluck that must have been. People can be so self-centered and uncaring of the people around them. So sad. I'm glad you were able to stay with the wife and didn't just keep on taking pictures. I know it's not fun to spend a lot of time in line, but it's not like everyone knows that's going to happen and can be prepared for it. Locked yourself out of the work thing on the computer? Technology is great as long as it works like its supposed to, not so much when it acts up!
Jazzy--LOL at the flying monkeys!
Cammy Cat--that want to go out/want to stay in meme is so very much like a cat! Sticky keys aren't fun. If you are using a separate keyboard, turn it upside down and tap it against the table a few times, you'll be surprised how much stuff comes out! It may unstick some of the keys, too.
Goldie--that is one roly-poly kitty!

NM, glad to hear that you said "NO". Good for you. Nice to hear about the secret santa at work for the patients. Almost 5' of snow at the ski resort and yes, it's in the mountains. Elevation over 9000'. I don't know what kind of care Richie is getting in CA., and I told Julia the problems she would have if she started feeding the critters. Then she said she would grow a garden to feed the bunnies, I told her that she won't be feeding just the bunnies! Yesterday she posted that she no longer was getting water out of the faucets! Both times I was down there, her clothes are quite dirty, so I don't know if she has a washing machine or not, I'm gonna guess no. And probably has to do whore baths. I just have to keep my distance.
I like that DOTD.

Mornin' ladies <yes it's still barely>
Wow Lori I never heard of that much snow in AZ. I know there are mountains but that's like a whole person high. And ur going away again??? And no I haven't told my Dr. But glad u mentioned. it cuz now I will, I just figured it was my meds. but it is getting worse. I'm so happy u get to go away again, u always seem to enjoy that.
Kim Lori and I are on the same side here, u finally said NO, whew what a relief. And see how fast Sadie caught on. She's so smart what a wonderfull little one u have. She watches out for u. And it's much better that u have some regular hours. It does sound like fun there with all the decorations and secret Santa. It does give everyone a nice lift.
Well Dan had his vasectomy yesterday, and t 1:30am my phone rang. I guess everyone there was sleeping, as was I. But I knew he just needed to talk and slept most of the day and he knows he can call me whenever. He was uncomfortable but no awful pain. So we just talked. Now Saturday we celebrate Christmas for this side of the family , I hope he can go. I have to get a few things wrapped and that's it. And not until like 4pm so that gives me lots of time. I pray I can go.
OK I've actually got things to do. hahaha

I was able to have chemo today! No fever. Blood pressure was good. All other blood tests in the “normal for cancer treatments” range. Things were a little backed up in the blood letting dept., but we were able to get out of there in under three hours. Did a grocery store run, made chicken salad and brownies to take to the mountains. Got mostly packed and am now on hold with my new drug plan provider. This company bought Aetna. I need to make sure my reimbursement check is still going to happen. My former employer covers the cost of the drug plan.
Any way. Looking forward to a weekend of wine, cheese and gossip! Then I will start on the present wrapping and final Christmas prep. Have a PET scan scheduled for December 31st. What a wayto end the year!

Good morning, Loungettes!Happy Saturday!Ah, the joys of lounging in bed on a cold weekend morning cuddled up to a furry bedwarmer. I think Sadie was enjoying it, too, judging from the stretches and "mmrrrrrrrhhhhhh" sounds she was making while poking her very cold nose in my ear. I swear she has a temperature control on that thing and dials it down to "Arctic" before poking me with it! And I swear she laughs at me afterwards!
Goldie--5 foot of snow definitely beats anywhere here in Maine. I don't think Mt Katahdin has that much snowyet, and that's the highest and snowiest in the state! SMH about your neighbor. At least she has electricity, or she wouldn't be online. I wonder if there is no water cuz of frozen pipes, water cut off for non-payment, or some plumbing problem.Still, not your circus, and so, notyour monkeys. Keeping your distance sounds like a great idea.
Cammy Cat--I am being very careful about the extra work I pick up. Last week was an emergency situation with the Director of Nurses not available (her mother is doing better, still in the hospital but improving) and the Assistant Director of Nursing working 40 hours in just2 days. And they are on salary and don't get any more pay when they cover extra time like that. I will do what I can to help WITHOUT putting my own health at risk. Things should be better now.The Secret Santa thing is going really well, lots of people having fun with it. I think this may become an annual tradition! I hope Dan recovers easily from surgery. My family is getting together and celebrating on the 14th. Just finished my very minimal Christmas shopping. I hope you and Dan can both make it!
Librarian--nothing like insurance changes to make for confusion and worry! Chicken salad and brownies, sounds very yummy!A PET scan wouldn't be my favorite way to end the year, but hey, we do what we have to do!

Mornin ladies
Still quiet.
But JC u r on the go for sure. Sounds like fun. I'm glad u can handle all of this so well.I don't know how much chemo ur getting, but I do know my first 4 months were not awful either so I hope this keeps up. It's funny how it hits everyone differently But ur attitude is great too and that helps.
I've got my shower to take and just a couple of presents ts to wrap and I'm already to tak a nap. I hate this feeling. So this is short and I take a short nap.

Cami, we try to do little get aways that don't cost much and do it for just a few days. Please don't forget to tell your doctor about you fall asleep so quickly. I hope you are able to get out to your family celebrations. And our mountains do get lots of snow. I'm glad we don't get too much too often. Sweet how Dan called you after his vasectomy!
JCS, glad you were able to get the chemo. How long do you have to that? Enjoy your mountain get away.
NM, maybe Sadie is trying to warm up her nose! As for my neighbor, remember we are off grid, so there are no bills. They have solar and a well, so I don't know what the problem is, all I can think of is the pipes froze. My husband can do plumbing, but no way would he go over there. As for me, I'm a little more compasionate, would like to have her over to take a shower and do laundry, but I can't do that, he would kill me! And, like I said, don't want her relying on me for things. Another yummy looking DOTD.
A funny...when potato chips are on sale, he feels like he has to get several. Now mind you, they are on sale quite often. Well, he stores them in one of our out buildings on a shelf. Well he found that mice had gotten into them. So he brought the bags in the house. With the few bags already in the house and what he brought in, there were 15 bags of chips! REALLY! Who needs that many. Had to throw away 10 bags!

Mornin' ladies,
HAHAHA u had to throw out all those potato chips, ur DH is a chip whore and now u find out.. That is so funny. Well at least he waits for sales.Ur leaving super soon, I hope it's good for you Lori.
Illi that drink looks luscious like I want to take it off the page.U sure know how to order a good drink.
Well I went yesterday got home about 11pm, we're all getting old. It was so nice. But I'm not used to have 9 kids under 5 running around anymore. I really forgot what that was like. But really glad they were all pretty good. Mu sister and her DH came that was great. I was falling asleep, so I sat in a recliner for about 20 mins, fell sound asleep, then I felt better. Dan ended up coming so I was glad to see him. And my cousin <this is Joanne's DD> cooks like a dream and makes almost everything there so that was a real treat. First Christmas party without Joanne, I'm so glad my sister came for a "glass" of wine She had 3 and ate, her one glass of wine bit didn't work, like we believed her. We celebrate early there cuz terri leaves for FL. every yr around the 15th then we usually have another Christmas so I just brought her her present and no one else Leslie and Marty had to go to his work prty so my other cousin picked Joey and me up. Now today u know I'm going to be like a zombie but all in all it's worth it...
So everyone have a good day relax if u can.

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Sunday Funday! Sadie and I had a lovely lazy day yesterday. We're seriously considering doing the same thing again today, after looking at the upcoming week's schedule. Actually, it won't be bad with a little planning and setting up of things thatI'll do today. I'm mostly ready, just a few details left to deal with.
Goldie--Sadie may be trying to warm up her nose, but I swear she gets it cold before nudging me with it! Small price to pay for all the love and cuddles I get from her, though. I do keep forgetting you and your neighbors are off the grid. And your husband probably has a point, if he goes over and fixes the frozen pipes (or whatever) the neighbor will expect him to do the same thing next time it happens, and will have no incentive to put in the prevention work that's probably needed. Same concern with letting her use your shower and washing machine. If it were a one-time thing, she being new in the house and not knowing the ins and outs, it would be one thing to help her through, but if she's not doing any cleaning or maintenance, it can quickly become an expectation that you will keep bailing her out. It's a hard call to make, though. Isn't it funny how the "stock up while it's on sale" bug hits us different ways! Throwing away 10 bags of chips, that must have been painful!
Illi--Very pretty Cranberry Margarita!
Cammy Cat--so glad you got out to the family get together! Sounds like a good time was had by all! I can imagine the noise and activity with that many small children running around, but that kind of makes it more Christmassy, sometimes. Rest up, now, and enjoy the memories.
Ooh, can't wait to make a Christmas Stacker!

Nice looking drink there baby girl!
Oh Cami, I know he buys them, we always shop together. If I say anything, he says, I want them, I'm buying them. He does the same thing with hamburger. I have plenty in the freezer, but if it's on sale, which it is A LOT, just like the chips, he has to buy some, cuz it's fresh! And if it's really cheap, we end up freezing more! Glad you made it to the party. And it's ok that you took a little nap, plus it made you feel better. Did anyone take pictures???
NM, I will not be helping her. If my neighbor has extra wood, or eggs, I'll take them over there. She posted something about cleaning up after rodents and hantavirus on FB. She had told me that she is coughing alot, and like mentioned before, she has COPD. I think if I were her, I'd go back over to the trailer! She had lots of dirty dishes in the sink, it's just a mess and not my circus! I can't even imagine what the bathrooms look like. And her mom had the place so cute when she lived there. Glad that you and Sadie are having a nice relaxing weekend. Just remember to say no sometimes. I understand if it's an emergency, and I think the real reason you do it is for the patients. You are not only a special person, but you are a very compassionate and caring nurse....the best in my book!

Hi ladies- happy rainy Sunday. The desert is getting some cold rain again today, but I am okay with that. My plan is to stay in today and got some house things and puter things to do too. And maybe a nap too. Been waking up too early the past few days.
Saw the eye center for check up #2 friday and things are healing well. The person I saw this time mentioned I have a wee bit of scar tissue around both incisions, but it is very tiny and at this point won't create issues for my vision. But it was mentioned that scar tissue is a possible side effect of the surgery and to watch the coming year for any changes to vision again in case it grows. They have a quick laser procedure to take care of that and discussed this all with me before my surgery. So be aware fellow cataract surgery friends. My final eye check up for rightie is 12/27.
I have been pretty "fun deprived" for awhile, but got out the past two days for some holiday activities. Did the shop and stroll Friday night with one friend, holiday brunch with a group of girlfriends yesterday. The friend on Friday helped me with my first surgery. I am helping her with a review of her new book which she told me she needs extra reviewers for so I started reading that last night and it's about women speaking up for their needs. I like being able to help her with something in return. I got a cool new pair of sunglasses at the shop and stroll and am glad I can buy regular sunglasses now vs. the pricey ones that go with scripts. Got both my cataracts and my nearsightedness corrected!
The gals yesterday are just too much fun and we had some great food and lots of laughs. We talked about everything and when I left, they were still on a roll. With all the stuff going on this fall, I have not seen my friends as much as I normally do, but trying to catch up this month as I can.
As I wait for my pay off statement for the house, I found myself in a place with no mail for over a week now. The mail stopped the weekend after Thankgiving and found out my neighbor next door was not getting any either, but the folks up the road were. So I put in an on line case with USPS to look into it last week. Another neighbor ran into the postal guy yesterday and it turns out someone has tampered with our cluster box again and he is unable to get in to either pick up any mail or deliver anything to us. They broke in to our box 2 years ago (a common thing here in NM, eye roll) and replaced it with better more secure boxes, but someone must have been trying again to get in to the lock. So tomorrow I will have to get to the PO when it opens for my mail. Hopefully my pay off statement will be waiting for me!
My SIL is back in the hospital with pneumonia. She has some type of anemia from a bleed they have not been able to figure out, and her blood work is what tanked her and sent her to the hospital. Apparently they re-ran her blood work and the counts were better, but they found the pneumonia on the x-ray. They were keeping her overnight and my sister seems determined to get her back to rehab to get better. My sister is worn out as is her partner, but no discussion of hospice still. If and when that happens, I will agree it's time.
Cami- sounds like a fun time. I get tired when I am at parties too long and 11 p.m. is way past my bed time. I would need a big old nap too. Sounds like lots of nice folks and great food. You mentioned the first holiday without Joanne (who I think is the cousin who passed this year) and it is hard to look around during the holidays and notice the missing ones. I feel it every year with my family.
Ill- that drink looks super yummy. I love anything cranberry. Was your party with other retired folks from your former job?
JCS- glad you are back to doing chemo. You must be feeling better and also past your bug. The wine, cheese and gossip sounds perfectly marvelous.
Goldie- are you getting more rain like NM is? All the moisture the past few weeks has been really nice after a very dry fall. Most of my trees and gardens need to be watered once a week in the winter months and like that mother nature is doing the job.
How are you feeling these days? How is your DD too, is she more healed from her surgery and living back in the VI? I know this has been a year of many things for your family.
NM- Miss Sadie and her cold nose. If I remember correctly, a cold nose is a sign of a healthy dog? Are you still buried in snow?
Got some things to do and hope everyone enjoys their funday Sunday

Jazzy, glad you got out to have some fun. How is the eye doing? My daughter is doing ok, as far as I know. I don't know if she got her blood and urine test yet or not, to determine that there is still no cancer. I get tired of bugging her about it. I believe she told me she was going to go this week, but I have not talked to her. Yes, we are getting rain today, so it will be a muddy mess getting out of here tomrorrow morning. DD has been back in the VI for quite some time, and I'm feeling fine, just wish my scans and blood work showed it!

Goldie- my eye feels really good. Keeping up with the drops 3X a day through next week. Natural tears in between. Why did I never know about those? I think I have had dry eye for years, those are a keeper for the longer term. Better than using visine.....
Yes, a fine line between keeping in touch and bugging on some things. She sounds like she is okay and good to hear no cancer.

Jazzy, we aren't sure that she is cancer free, she has not been back for tests, that I know of. Continued prayers for your sister and SIL.

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Monday! Getting up to snow, with the temps predicted to go up to the 40's today. Gotta love the crazy weather swings we're getting. Probably going to melt off a lot of snow. Looking forward to a busy but fun week at work. Even got up before the alarm went off this ayem! Sadie says Hi! To everyone.
Goldie--I feel sorry for your neighbor, but glad that you are setting limits on what you will do to help. Hanta virus and other rodent-born illnesses are nothing to take lightly.
Jazzy--so glad to hear the cataract surgeries went well. A little bit of scar tissue that isn't interfering with your vision seems a little thing to have happen, especially since you knew it was possible. Sounds like the shopping and lunch was great fun, we all need great fun things from time to time! Good heavens, the things people will try to break into to steal from. You'd think the post office would have some way of notifying you when something like that happens. Not good to hear your SIL has pneumonia. Maybe someone at the hospital will bring up the subject of end of life care with them while she's there, that could help plant the seed. I can picture the situation turning into a repeating round of hospitalizations that end up lasting longer and longer for things that get harder and harder to patch. It's going to be a difficult holiday season for the two of them. I've heard that cold noses are a sign of a healthy dog, too. If it's true, Sadie is as healthy as a dog can be!
Great visitor pic!

Mornin Ladies,
3 cups of coffee and I can't keep my eyes open.WTF I stayed mostly sleeping yesterday. Didn't talk to anyone
Everyone here must be busy. Or out of town or just doing nothing like me, Now I'm confused too I thin k it's Monday but always have to look, I have to look everyday.
I should write into HOARDERS my bedroom is a mess. It's small to begin with but now I have all kinds of presents in it that have to be wrapped and put under the tree, I really don't have many more to buy since I started in Oct. and cut down this year a lot. And yet I have them all over the place. All I need is stuff to wear around the house and yet that's more expensive, than clothes, I don't get that. A fleece nightgown cost over 40.00, that's insane to me. And that's what I like to wear, but pj's are about the same. So I told my kids please on't buy that for me in fact I don't want them to buy me anything. I have a few really nice outfits and where do I go anyway. So when the holiday is over, I can always buy night gowns on sale. I bought Jod and Les, clothes, Joey too and everyone else <all women> both earrings and lipsticks. That is simple but I do try and get the type of earrings they like and the color of lipstick they also like. So it's not as easy as it sounds. LOL especially on line=Good Monday everyone.==OK I'm blabbering enough besides I have to take a nap.

Good morning friends- I hope everyone has a good start to the week. Quiet day at home yesterday.
NM- I hope to the hospital suggests to my sister it may be time for hospice. Her partner seemed a bit better yesterday, but know my sister was going to take the MIL over later in the day to see her daughter. I know every time she does that, my sister gets an earful about "why are you letting this go on." She did not call yesterday and well, I think I am glad for that.
