Whoa momma, it took me a half hour to read from where I left off. The another few minutes to jump a bit foyder backwards to reread de posts made while me was dwunk last night. I always feel that I need to comment to everyone and have a hard time making me point in few words. So if me post is too long, don't be mad. It is just that there are so many loungettes and I have never seen the place as biddy as it was todey. The Bored of Directors is tinking about expanding. What can we add??

Beanie, da pics of Gail's wedding dress are on page 13. Let me know if you have any further inquires as to actions in the htl. I am the htl scrib gal. So nice to be tweated with your presence!  Everyone, gift your glass and let's toast....Here's Beans. Stay away from that hole, it is more fun here.

Bernie, hope you are hanging in there. So exciting that you will meet Kathy and show here around. It reminds me of the htl tourguide Scuby, giving htl american visitor Chrissy, a personal tour of Philadelphia.

NM, hoping you had a good work week and no issues with snow. Our snow has melted away.  I missed getting pampered this morning with entertaining pictures and also missed the big breakfast buffet that you used to bring in on weekends. i slept through breakfast today anyway. Hope to see you in the am reporting that you had a nice weekend despite working.

Karen, my ex dh told me that there was still snow on the roads in the Linden area this morning but I would be pretty certain it has melted. It was in the mid 40's today w/ bright sunshine.  Glad your DH will let you get back to your parents soon. Hang in there, I am hoping God will step in and help somehow, someway.

Allison! Yay, you can post pics. Good job. i loved the pics. Your DD and niece are tooo cute. Something special about cousins. I loved your doggies too. One of my dogs is also name Bella but it is short for Isabella. That is the name she came with.

Goldie, sorry I missed in de lounge, me missed many today. Seems DorK slept waaaay late todey. Glad you were able to save the little poyple finch.

Wahine, Sad for the birdies looking for the feeder. Good job in preparing early for your trip. Can I come in your suitcase, pleeeeze?

Scuby, I hope you got back to sleep last night and got some rest today. I will see you on Wednesday.

Kymn, really nice to see you at the lounge more and more. I have missed sitting next to you and seeing you on your pink leopard bar stool. I am glad that you are taking so much initiative to find the happiness you deserve. I can't say enough how well you are doing. You have been through so much and it is just not fair. But you are well on your way! It is tough facing the challenge of self improvement. But you did it. I want to treat you to a rye and diet along with a large pizza!

Claire, I hope the monster mash parTAY is happening at the htl. Sorry i skipped dinner last night, I had steak with Lori. A girl needs to eat.

Well I hope i have covered everyone. So hard to catch up, many loungettes in de lounge today. The only tink that could make it better is if NM joined but a girl has to work when she has to work. Make sense...uh, maybe not. I am tired, should think about sleeping.Well maybe one more round......

    CheerZ, girls. And titty'z up!

    and yes, Happy Halloween!

Oh that food festival sounds like it was fun, Bernie!

DorK, I must've sounded confusin yet again....dats me! Bernie and I are hoping to meet at the castle, which is part of the tour itinerary I will be on. She won't be able to show me any sights, as I will be on a schedule, with whatever time the tour company has lined up. If DH and I return someday, we will prolly be on our own, and then could perhaps see Bernie for a few hours!

Happy Halloween! My favorite day of the year! Can't wait to watch YouTube video Claire! Ready to get the party started!

Nice to meet you Beans! You're all these girls have talked about! Not sure what page, but DorK made a really awesome song for you during a lampshade party, you will have to find it. Where is it DorK? You remember?

Karen, my daughter is on the right in picture. Niece is in the pink. Safe travels home! Will look for your pics on FB!

Kathy, I want to jump in your suitcase too! Would love to go to Ireland! One day I will, and will meet Bernie!

Scuby, no uploads from iPad. My brother tried copy and paste with no luck :(. Do want to tell you about an awesome app, Pinterest. It's free and awesome! Check it out! I also pay $7.99 a month for Netflix, and I'm an addict! Have you girls seen Breaking Bad? I started with season one, episode one, and now almost done with season three! Not typically something I watch, but love it!

My DH and I went out to dinner with friends last night, and realized while we were there it was the 17th anniversary of the day we met! And we were right across the street from where we met, too! How funny!

Just got DD on bus, DH off to work, and I'm so sleepy, think I will take a small nap with the doggies. Can't nap long though, gotta make chicken n dumplings for tonight, it's tradition! Think if anybody showed up here on Halloween night without them on the stove, it would be ugly! Cheers dears! Be back later!

Interesting tradition, Allison! I love this holiday too, but darn it, have been purdy bizzy and DID NOT get any decorations up, not even the stuff I just bought. FIrst time I will not be dressing up to give out the goodies. Picking my mom up in a bit, and will be out all day. BUT, you nevah knoe...I have been known to succumb at the last moment and put an outfit on. I know you will have a BLAST today and tonight!!!!

Oh Bernie, that would be so awesome to stay with you someday and see your cottage in person! If you get to the US, you could tour like Chrissy and stay with all us bc gals all across the country! I have an empty guest room. Hoping the rads won't be tooooo painful the day we meet. And I think you are almost done with them??? Hope so, that sounds so hard to go through.

Chrissy, Glad the CT was good, but what is causing that pain??? Delayed reaction from all the over-doing you did on your trip? You are such a trooper, and REALLY did a lot of walking and traveling, constantly. I still love your journal. There are places that will bind and print it up and print how many copies you want (you can get the cost and take pre-orders from us....maybe have the books shipped to an addy in the US, and we can ship the ones to you that you want)...my DD even had a UPC or ISBN code on hers, so others could order. Tell you what, I will ask her, and PM you, okay? Still sad I did not get to meet you, but lived vicariously thru your postings, so *almost* felt like I was there!!

Scuby, Sounds like you had a nice day, visiting with the newlyweds in their new home! What cha gonna dress up as, tonight???

DorK, How is your back doing? You gotta check that out, chica!!

Oh funny.....the am weatherman is on and is dressed like an astronaut. I live not too far from the Space Center (anyone see Space Camp, many moons ago?)...my youngest DD went to Space Camp and loved it, and my nephew came in from UT to attend it. I better dig out some Halloween stuff to wear when I am out with my mom today....really love this holiday, but more important to have been spending a lot of time with my parents.

    Happy Howl-O-Ween Witches!!!!

    Krazy Kathy

Karen, glad you got your photos, I keep telling Kathy that she needs one of her and her mom painting together.

Whew Chrissy! Sure glad those scans came back with notta, but sorry you were in pain. Hope the wine helped.

Kathy, you know we will all be in your suitcase, and I have a feeling you won't be packing until about.....................say Thursday or maybe even Friday!

DorK, you get that back looked at girl, no playing around, ya hear me?

Mrs v, that is the picture I like of you and your daughter (in your av) just so cute.

Any ladies travelling to Ireland would be most welcome to my cottage.

Having a small snifter at the moment due to the fact the skin under right boob has just peeled off - which is nice.

Only six more burnings to go.  Then out with all the lads on November 12th to celebrate.

Good morning, Loungettes! Got through the weekend without losing power, got a nice got bit of snow that mostly melted off later Sunday and will probably be completely gone later today. Well, maybe not completely gone. Just got back from a walk with Sadie, and it's chilly enough for gloves even without any breeze. This snow may just stick!

Bernie-there is still a large fan base here in the US. They hold conventions and the like periodically. I started watching during the Tom Baker years, and kind of fell out of regular watching during the Peter Davison time. Didn't like Peter Davison's Doctor.

Juliet-I didn't know Elizabeth Slater had bc, nor had I heard that she had died. That is just too sad and too unfair! I've only caught a few episodes of Torchwood, need to rent the series through Netflix or something. That's the problem with not having DVR or TiVo, if it's not on when I can watch, I don't get to see it until later!

Suba-you know it's always 5 pm or later here in the HTL! Glad you got a good doc! I'm not so sure a 2 for 1 is a bargain in the surgery department, but then I'm getting a 3 for 1 in a few weeks! Didn't get much snow, only about 4 inches, and most of it melted off the roads and walkways by dinnertime Sunday. But it was the Idiot Storm for this season. Good to get that out of the way.

Wahine-yes, we had plain, straight, no frills, no attachments vibrators. We would put them in a baby sock so it didn't look so weird. Now there is a medical supply company that makes the very same thing, only it comes in pink and blue and has alphabet blocks all over it, has a special medical name, and costs 10 times more. I swear they just bought a batch at an adult toy store and painted them!

Karen-I've seen this kind of conflictedness (if that's a real word) lots of times. The behavior pattern of many years is very hard to change, and provides a sense of identity and purpose. When the effects of aging or an illness make that routine more difficult, there is a double whammy of loss of self esteem (I can't take care of my spouse/family/kids/pets anymore) and a loss of identity and purpose (Now what do I do? What role do I play in the family now?). So your Mom wants your Dad to leave her alone and continues to wait on him and cater to him. She's going to have to come to the place where she realizes she can't do it any more before she will allow a change. Your friend the PCP is right, the child who takes away the car keys becomes a scape goat for everything from that point on, and if all the kids aren't in agreement it can trigger a family feud. You can call her doctor. There are confidentiality rules, but most docs offices have patients sign a form allowing the office to talk with family members. Even if the doc can't give you info back, the doc can take the info you provide and use it to set up a better plan of care for your Mom. I think the idea of making phone calls and e-mails and gathering data is a good one. The present your Mom with the info-mail it to her, maybe, so she can look at it on her own when she's not trying to promote an image of SuperWoman. Question for you, what is kasha?

Mrs. Vino-since you do nails, maybe you can answer a question for me? Some of the ladies I know are talking a lot about a new way of getting their nails done that makes nails very strong. When they say the name all I hear is Shellac, and I'm not sure that's right. Do you know anything about this? My nails keep breaking and peeling and I would love to find some treatment that would make them look better. Around here it costs about $20 for this treatment. Love the after tornado comment, too funny!

Lilyn-Welcome back! Pop in more often, we'd love to have you!

DorK-there are lots and lots of stereotypes out there. Every once in a while I find out that I have one I didn't know about, and can't even figure out where it came from! Personally, I enjoy those kind of jokes (and there are many that feature Mainers!) but I understand how they could offend.

AStorm-I read "gonna be a chicken" and was thinking you were going to bake a chicken, and couldn't figure out why you needed rubber feet, then I realized you said you were going to the CRAFT store! Somehow my mind just caught "store" and assumed grocery store. I had visions of rubber melting in the oven . . . .

Claire-being able to walk in winter boots is a very odd concept, indeed, to judge from the boots I've been looking at. Why can't someone produce a sensible boot with little or no heel, that looks nice, not clunky and ugly? I really should invest in a pair of LLBean boots this year. Those last forever!

    Egg-cars. Egg car-tons. Groan.

Tiger striped hammocks, Loungettes popping out of hand bags threatening to become chew toys. I missed a really good partay (or a really good new drug high)!

I missed a lampshade party! No fair! Great pix, though!

Busy Spelling Bee says: laparoscopic, anesthesia, but spelling only matters if you are sober.

Goldie-Maybe I need to start posting a "Do not drink while reading" warning before my better pics? LOL!

Beanie-THAT is a REAL woman's living will! I am so tempted to copy it and attach it to my living will!

Bernie-I'm so unhappy that you are suffering from rad burns. Did the techs and the doc give you the lecture about not calling it a "Burn" because that makes it seem too serious, but to call it "radiation dermatitis" or a "radiation rash" since that implies that it's a pretty minor side effect? I burst into tears when one of the techs looked at my breast and said "that's quite a radiation rash" when I had the equivalent of a 3rd degree burn. Make sure they know you are in pain, and that you expect them to do something about it.

Kymn-Good for you for taking Oprah's life classes! You are moving forward, good for you!

Have Booker and Bella been to the dog park section of the Lounge? Sadie would love to play with them! And the lounge takes care of any pooper scoopering that needs to be done!

How does one drink when dead?

Chrissy-Hooray for the clean CT results! Still need to find out what is causing the pain, or at least taking care of it. Pain drains the energy from one.

Princess Glitter Sizzle decries today's DOTD to be the Bloody Maria! Thanks, Goldie!

NM.....I do have a pair of LL Bean's.  Same as shown, but pull-on.  The only problem is that they don't give good traction on snow and ice.  Good for driving and major puddles though.

When the snow and ice get fierce, I use my HIKING BOOTS.  I am a major fan of vibram soles.

Unlike us, Sadie has four feet and toenails.

Back to work....need to firm up tomorrow's networking meeting. Plus think through the ask.  Somehow, I feel like I am on the cusp of the next great adventure in my life.  Now just to make it happen.

    TitZ up. - Claire

Look at all the TREATS! NM - that is ugly but probably yummy... nice work, Beanie and Goldie!

NM - I made feet out of yellow rubber gloves... stuffed the fingers with fiberfill and tried to pull them on over some yellow Reeboks but then thought maybe just put them on my feet like socks which was perfect and then I could move my toes.

We had a blast at both parties but DH got sick because he ate food (at the 2nd party) that had been sitting out for almost 3 hours -- now that's scary but you know men... anyway he was really in bad shape yesterday. At least we had fun --DH dressed like a farmer with crazy mutton-chop sideburns and a corn-cob pipe and funky hat. He kept calling me his chicken and grabbing at my tail feathers LOL,,, ok a little twisted. I'm dressing up again this afternoon to pick up DD after school and then we will go downtown to see the craziest costumes. I'll post pix later... promise!

I'm trying to carve a dachshund pumpkin. I've never done a stencil before so wish me luck!

    Hi goyles,

So nice to see everyone in the lounge again today. And HAPPY to see NM back. I was concerned earlier when I had not seen a post. I guess she slept in a bit.

NM, I laffed so hard at your comment to Gail and that you thought she was baking a chicken. Didn't you know that the chicken turns out better if you wear rubber feet?? lol. Still cracking up.

Chrissy, you poor girl. I hope that the pains leaves immediately. Happy NED but unhappy you do not feel well.

Well I haven't much time, DH will be arriving with his girls. We are going to pop by "my church" as they are having a fair type of thing. It will be nice to run away from the noise of my dogs barking at the trick-or-treaters. I bought candy this morning, wonder how much goes out verses in my belly??

Great reading. Hope everyone who is struggling feels better. So much sadness happening but I am so glad we have each other and are able to laugh. Thinking of all you gals and praying all good things for all of you!

11 minutes until Pau Hana on Crider Ave!! CheerZ!!

Stopping by for Pau Hana b4 the little rug-rats get here.....j/k. I do love seeing the kiddies all dwessed up....esp the homecrafted outfits. I just have some glittery spiders and a witch on a broom attached to my shirt. When I was the headless butler it had the little girl next door SCARED $hitless for a couple of yrs! Maybe I will post that pic for the newer galz. They will ALL be shocked that I have nothing outside this year, and I am not all dressed up. Oh well....I spent all day with my mom, helping her find new shoes, shirts for my dad, got her hair done, went out to eat, etc. Got her some new clothes too, so will need to reassess what she wants to bring on the trip. Told her now I will be busy getting some of my $hit together.

Lori, Our DL's just last for 4 yrs.....hoping to get that done this week too. Neat that yours last for yearsssss.

Okay, so I have had enough of the trick-or-treaters. The lights are out and I am bravely heading out to the Fall Festival at church. I have one of DH's DD's here and he took the other and left before us. I do not want to stay out long but it will be nice to be amongst good people and seeing all the kids. I had a dwinky, would be frowned upon in some religions but not mine, yippy! I will however goy-gle with moufwash foyst.

Hope you have fun Kymnie and hoping for no EX-DH sightings!

To those handing out treats, whatcha giving? I will decide if I am coming to your house, depending on what you are giving away.  I have kit kats, hershey bars and ressie's. The kit kats seem to be the preference.  I think I am going to ring my neighbor's bell on the way out, she gives out swedish fish, sure have a taste for them!

Happy Halloweenie! It is a dwinin' holiday ya know??? CHeerZ!

Just had1 group of 3 girls so far, young teens....1 dressed as meatballs, 1 as spaghetti, and 1 as a vampire! Creative  costumes, though.Did see a swinging ghost though, really! Neighbors adjoining our back yard, have kids over for a party, and thru the trees we saw a ghost swinging on the swing, could only see it when it swung higher than the fence...lol.

Was so looking forward to a glass of cabernet in real time tonight, but it is going to have to wait...I have a massive headache (maybe sinus) and feel sick to my stomach!!!!  Even wine in the HTL doesn't sound good right now.....

Took DD#2 to a lesson in a neighborhood with lots of young families...at 5:15, there must have already been 100+ kids out on the two blocks we drove....still no one at our house....wonder what that neighborhood will be like when I pick her up at 6:15..... WE' have bbq corn chip snacks...for those of you back east...dipsy doodles!!!

Mom's counselor wrote me a wonderful email back.....included some good info/resources and phone numbers.....she doesn't think that its unreasonable to place Dad in the very near future....that was in the back of my mind....it makes me so sad to read it from the counselor as that makes it more real, but I don't want to "loose" two parents.....DH is suppportive of me going to my folks monthly if need be.....Thinking of going the middle of Novemeber of mid December when winter break starts....will give it a few days to see what info I can gather this week....if/when dad moves, I want to help mom....also would like to help her look at places....if I go down mid November, I'd go after work on Wednesday getting in after 11pm, so I wouldn't even let mom drive to the airport.....would take the shuttle.....she let me drive to the airport today and it took 40 or 45 min instead of an hour....and she said the ride home was easy.....I'm not worried about mom driving on the city roads, just the highway

I have 3 IEP's (or is it 4) that have to be written tonight....waiting for the headache to go away....if that doesn't happen soon, I'll wait till I pick up DD.....

BBL....Happy Trick or Treat to all!!!!
