Morning peeps! Went to bed before ten, with two .5 Xanax and a melatonin. Woke up at midnight, again at 1, again at 2, and when I woke up at 3 I said give me a Fukitol, I'm going town to ICONS to treat myself! So here I sit, 5:10 here, toes and nails look beautimous! Giving them some dry time, and thought I'd check in. You ladies are so wonderful! Thank you so much for your kind words and prayers. Lisa, made me cry! Can't have anymore of that, as I'm sooo thirsty, can't lose any more liquids, lol. Would love to post a pic of nails and toes, but on iPad. Trust me, lookin good. I've been thinking of my surgery today, wondering if when I get the happy juice I might accidentally start talking about tiny DorK's, Scuby's, Wahine's, Goldie's, bean's, Claire's, Astorm's, Kymn's, etc., etc, hope didn't miss anybody, but hope I'm not talking bout you tiny peeps and a bus in the room, they make think me's a crazy gal and send me packin!! Lol. Gonna go do another load of laundry, DD and DH will be up at six, we will be leaving at seven. Will try to check in once more before leaving. Cheers me dears!! And welcome to Kentucky if you're already here!!

Oh shoot DorK, glad they found that suture. Happened to my DH when he had carpal tunnel surgery. Boy they just went a diggin. Thanks for the hugs..........you and Scuby both.
Gail, I think your WD pumpkin turned out GREAT. Good job!
Juliet, we know all about the full moon! Our NM is a nurse.
Hi Mema, you funny lady! And NO, you don't have to count. Have as many as you want. Glad you got sitchyated on ur stool.

Good morning, Loungettes! After watching scary movies and listening to ghost stories on the radio I had a scary dream last night. Wonder why that would happen? Can't remember it now, of course, but it involved a burning college classroom building and a zip line escape. Of course, we had a fire drill at work last week, and I am not very happy about heights, especially heights + speed. Quite the crazy quilt my subconscious made of that combo!

Claire-I have hikers that I use for slippery and icy walking, but I need a pair of boots that will keep my feet warm and dry but are easy to slip off when I go into patient's homes. I'm thinking a pair of the pull ons would be perfect for work. Sadie does have a decided advantage with her extra feet and long toe nails! Good luck with the networking!

Woops, came to the computer this morning and found out I never finished the last one! Now I've got to get to work and get caught up! 3 PAGES! To work, to work. . .

AStorm-love the idea for the chicken feet, and hope DH feels better! Men are like doctors, think they are immune to EVERYTHING! Great pics! Why aren't little kids afraid of a 5'7" chicken? How tall is Big Bird?

DorK-I wish my grandmother was still alive so I could get her baked rubber chicken feet recipe! Actually, it was a family joke that the one thing Gram didn't cook well was the Christmas turkey. She always overcooked it for fear of undercooking and making all the family sick.

Kymn-LOVE the new acronym for the lounge-FAH is PERFECT! I'm sure you weren't the only adult with a little something extra in the juice cup, just to keep warm with, don't ya know. . .

Wahine-good to spend time with your Mom. I've got to do more of that. Ran into Mom and her BF day before yesterday. She'd seen the cardiologist for the "mild" leaky valve to get cleared before having both her shoulders replaced, and is going to get set up for a bunch of tests, turns out the "mildly" leaky valve is "moderately to severely" leaky. She's just been in denial or outright lying to me and my brother for the last year! Like I didn't have my suspicions, but then she wonders why we don't tell her everything that happens in our lives. Of course, she could have just plain worked her early dementia magic on what she was told last year, too, she does that with lots of things. Sigh.

Scuba-got any Gentleman Jack left over? I'll be glad to help you move some of it out of your house for the sake of your waist line!
Oh, you weren't handing ou Gentleman Jack Truffles? oh, dear, and I missed it!
Karen-it was so good of your Mom's counselor to get back to you so quickly, although I can understand how you feel about the info you got. Somehow such news is more "real" when it comes from an outside source. Good idea to visit periodically if you can afford to. Nosy question-what is an IEP?
Chrissy-Nice costume! Perfect fit! Doggy registration? Oh, jeesh, that reminds me my car needed to be registered by the 31st! Have to get out and do that today!

Bernie-Glad they are taking your burns seriously. Good advice for Karen, too!

Julie-toasting back with an American Honey, definitely better than Xanax, and better yet WITH Xanax!

We seem to be collecting all sorts of odd and interesting bar stools: leopard print, bicycles,

Tiedyemom-welcome, and never feel guilty about dwinking, ah, drinking here in the lounge! That's what it's all about here, support and alcohol in equal measures! You've come to the right place. We do have a lot of fun here, but we are very supportive as well. All of us have crashed (or will crash) at some point during this process, that's normal. The emotions, specifically the fears and anger, cannot be held inside forever without doing damage. Not only do we have to deal with the fear of a cancer diagnosis, but we have to deal with how we do or, in my case, do not live up to the "Breast Cancer Super Survivor Woman" expectations that are placed on us. I am not married or a mother and I couldn't keep working during treatment, and am still struggling with how I "failed" to "do having breast cancer" the "right way." There IS NO right way. What works for you is what works. You will need the help of family and friends, co-workers if you are working, and all the people around you, and they will still not truly understand what you are going through. Depression is common, and anxiety is almost a given. Talk to your docs about how you are feeling and accept the help they can give in the form of antidepressants or anti-anxiety medication. And keep coming here and asking any question you need to, as many times as you need to. We're here, we understand and we'll listen.

Backless aprons? What kind of Halloween costume is a backless apron? OH, it's on the Tenders, I "see" now! Giggle Giggle

Goldie-LOVE the Princess Coctail! Sounds soo yummy! How sweet of you to post a cocktail just for me! Oh, I have to share it? Well, I suppose, since the Tenders are making it by the keg full!

Mrs. Vino-Hooray for good WBC numbers! And getting the TE's out, and nice soft squishies put in!

Beanie! It was our first snow, although today you'd never know we got any at all. Just as well, I've still got outside stuff to do before REAL winter gets here. I've heard recordings of Big Foot yells and those are creepy enough, hope I never hear one in real life!

The Kentucky Sunrise sounds yummy, too! What a great first thing in the am dwinky!
Karen-Actually, around the holidays is a good time to check out assisted living places. Yes, they are on their best behavior because so many families are visiting, but you also get to see them at a very busy time. If the care is good during a busy time it will be good at quieter times, too. A good idea is to check the ones that impress you again after the holidays when things are quieter and you can see the routine better. One quick and dirty trick is to arrive unannounced at your follow up visit and see how things go. Any place can be made to look good for a planned visit, it's the unplanned that tell you the real story. A facility that does not allow unplanned visits is one to be very careful about. Sure, you won't be allowed into some parts of the facility if you arrive unannounced, but they should give you good reason-a resident getting a treatment, it would interrupt the flow of the activity, but most places, including food preparation areas should be at least viewable from a doorway.

Tiedyemom-a lymph node biopsy is a common procedure. Is the surgeon asking for a biopsy of a questionable lymph node or the Sentinel Lymph Node? SNB (Sentinel Node Biopsy) is the norm for determining the likelihood of spread of cancer outside the breast. Double mastectomy, also called Bilateral Mastectomy is often abbreviated BMX. Genetic counseling to determine the helpfulness of being tested for the BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutation is also standard for any woman under the age of 50 when diagnosed, or with a family history of breast cancer, ovarian cancer, and less so, pancreatic and colon cancers. If you have school age children, you are probably younger than 50? And it's not cluttering up the lounge to answer questions here, we all are aware that some women are "lurking" and we can reach those women as well with our postings. What's your favorite kind of wine? Or mixed drink? Once the tenders know your libation of choice they make sure to never run out!

Juliet-if you ever figure out how to get the print that big, SHARE! There are times I'd like to print big, but can't figure out how to! And "Sorry" is not allowed in the lounge!

Scuba-I've been getting a massage every 2 weeks for over a year now, and I second the observation-it is WONDERFUL!

Mrs Vino-GOOD FOR YOU!!!!! Way to tell that Doc who's the boss! And that nurse/tech/whatever!

Kymn-do you work at a place where calls come through a receptionist? You can ask to not have FAH calls put through anymore. Most work places are happy to enforce a "no personal calls" rule that way. He probably did think you would roll over, and won't he be surprised to find out differtently!

An abbreviation update for the new ladies: rat ba$tard refers to breast cancer or miserable, about to become ex hubbies or boyfriends or whatever, depending on the context.
MemaSue-sounds like we need some more fancy barstools in the joint! And no, we don't count dwinkies on this thread! Maybe we need a safety bar stool for some of us:

Jaybird! Long time, no see!

Good morning, LORD, it's me again. Thanks for leading Jaybird back beside the not-so-still-waters of the lounge for a visit. I can understand her not wanting to run into any more bad news right now. Could YOU possibly do something for her friend? YOU know which one, I'm sure. I know, I know, that may not be YOUR plan, but it doesn't hurt to ask, right? Please give Jaybird YOUR peace and strength. Help all the rest of us find the right things to say and do to support her. All of us are very aware, just under the surface, of how precarious life can be. Please say "hi" to Junie for all of down here, and please make sure Junie doesn't run out of Miller Light!

OOPS, the Magic Partay Bus is honking outside my house, time to scurry!
Princess Glitter Sizzle decries that today we are ALL PRINCESSES! More Princess Cocktails, puhleeze!

Wow, NM, amazing prayer. Brought tears to my eyes just now, at the mention of Junie. So sweet of you to always write the purrfect prayers, for anyone in need. Thanks so much for remembering Jaybird's friend. LOL at so many of your cartoons....funny though I had to double-take at the dog with the shoes on....first thought it was a hairy-legged man! Good advice to Karen, I also like to visit nursing homes/assisted living facilities unnanounced. When we were looking for one for my step-dad when he suddenly was hospitalized, we were very sad, not only that he would hate going to one if he were able to protest, BUT there were only a couple that had room! So our choices were very limited. Unfortunately, he passed while in the hospital, but for him, I know that was what he would have wanted. But he was 91 and had been pretty healthy until the end, so that was a blessing. Loved him so much! He was more of a dad to me than my own father. But then my parents got remarried, and that is so good for both of them. THey compliment each other, in that what one can't do anymore, usually the other one is able to.
Oh Karen, the potassium levels are SO important! When my step-dads levels were too high, he would pass-out, and he was over 6' tall, so it was quite a fall. We thought he was going down-hill and even bought a walker (which he refused to use!), but once the potassium levels were corrected, he was fine (till much later). I hope your dad will improve, once the levels are correct!
DorK, you are sooooo funny!!! Yeah, I cwacked up too, with thinking of Applebee's or OLive Garden as "fine dining"! What gets me, is the backwards way so many people (NOT YOU, or anyone here in the HTL), think of AL or MS. Because, we can get likker in almost any dining establishment, and although we have "ABC" state-run likker stores, we also have many independent likker stores, and you can buy beer/wine in grocery/drug stores, even on Sundays. And in our city there are soooooo many high end dining places....but even tho this is an upscale area of AL, other cities have those places too. AARRGGGHHHHH.....sorry, I had to rant, even though I know you realize otherwise, it is for those who are not even reading this!!! LOL. Sorta like the preacher preaching to those in attendance about how everyone needs to go to church! Hoping the edema will go down, in your back...ouch! You are such a sweetie, I hate hearing you are in pain. BUT you are getting bettah every day, and soon you will feel GOOD!!!!!
Allison, We ARE twying to be quiet, but you know how we are! Did you notice any "foil" there? Goes for you too, CIndy.....see if you notice any foil today, at your procedures. We will head out to Cindy as soon as we know Allison is okay too. Gotta be wid all youse galz today!! LEt us know you you are, okay!! At least we know ath Allison's nails are GAWGEOUS!!!
Lori, Safe travels! Glad you might be able to check in, on the road.
Scuby, Your posts cwach me up! Nice of you to stock the bus wid da gud Kentucky Bourbon!!
NM, Oh my, how scary that your mom's valve problem is much worse than she admitted. Hope she does okay!!! Yes, even though she was a bit rough on you and Sadie earlier, it would be good to spend as much time as you can, with her. Sending prayers up for your mom.
OMG I know there was more to comment on. As I read the posts, I laugh, or get sad, and am determined to comment on ea post, then when I finally ketchup, I can't remember it all. Can't even remember what "I" last posted! LOL. Not sure if I mentioned, but when I went to get my DL yesterday (satellite office in the mall), the line went clear out to the mall entrance. Unbelievable. Good thing I asked, as it turned out it was the car tag line....and some people wanting DL's had been waiting in that long line too...so we all got to go straight to the DL counter...just couldn't see it for the long line. THey thanked me profusely, but still got in front of me....LOL. But it just took a few min...pic turned out HORRIBLE though...yikes. Oh, the car tag lines are so long, since AL's new immigration law, as they have to have proof of citizenship, and have to have info on anyone listed as owning the car, etc. Ok, lots to do today. Having a nice, slow morn, still dwinking my cuppa joe, and will PACK today....yuppers Lori I am packing EARLY....how bout dem apples (LOL)!
Jaybird, Thanks for mentioning the scotch you like to buy. Please PM me any more info you want to share about that! Thanks!
Hugssssssssssssss,
Kathy

Bernie, Your new car sounds soooooo nice! Sorry your mood was "black" to match the car, though. Sounds like quite a painful appt yesterday. Ouch! Still have my fingers crossed, that we get to meet!!!

Yay, NM is back. Loved your entertaining posts. and gads, I am here again with only an hour b4 PT and hope to catch up b4 I get too far behind. Can't believe you found barstools with bicycle wheels.
Karen, thanks for checking in to say you will be away. I loved the advise from NM about "places" and her advise on finding a good one. we are lucky to have her with us. Your youngest DD sounds like such a sweeting and so smart too. Love when you write about her, takes me back to when my baby girl was her age.
Tiedie, glad we are helping you and nice to hear you sounding less nervous. Again, the hardest part is playing the waiting game, hated that. Sending you a big bottle of wine. And a straw.
Bernie, your car sounds awesome. Wanna see pics. Seems like Ireland is the place to be. I have never been outside the US other than Canada and Mexico. I would love to make it to Ireland. And to Austrailia. And to the corner bar that is NOT here. Hang in there, you are getting close to the finish line.
Allison, thinking of you now and praying that your team of doctors do right by you. Glad you got your nails done at the ICON. Wish I had a place to have mine done in me house. Can't wait for an update from you.
Kathy, your DD does not like new car smell? That is wild. If she gets a new car, i will be happy to drive it until the smell dissipates. I agree with the utter girls, you should get a massage.
Lori, sorry I used the 's' word. Ooops, did it again. I would smack my own fingers if I could. Are you leaving today for work/Christmas in Callie?
Kymn, also love the new acrynym. Or at least new to me. FAH fits so well. So glad you are seeing things more clearly. I missed you in da lounge last night but see you on de bus. And wow, de bus has all pink leopard seats!
Beanie, what a sad story about your Daddy. I had no idea. You have not talked about it much and now I know why. I hope talking about it some helped you. i can hear the pain you are still having. I know your point was to let Karen know that she is doing the best she can and that is the best she can ask of herself. I loved your cartoons yesterday. Wish I had more time to write more, need to be out of here in a half hour and still need to get myself dressed. I am bathed but not dressed.
Gail, love the WD sweater. My WD #2 wants one. WD#1 will not wear one. If the sun is not shining, she does her bidness and goes right inside. She is sunbathing at the moment, I just snapped a photo of her, she loves the sun despite it being 50 degrees.
Scuby, your near rhyme was so cute. i like your signoffs, you are good at coming up with originals. Still lmao at cheers and pinking shears. not sure why I find that so funny. I will get those pics up but will not promise. when I got up, they were still uploading. I had to reload them. i know what I did wrong, I added a "something" to be able to send pics from mazilla firefox to photobucket with one click. oh well, I will get er done.
I have to move my lazy armse. I have been up for three hours and again, the time just flies.Exiting the bus for just a bit but will be back later.
CheerZ!

Oh my DorK, THANK YOU for reminded me of somethings I missed. Yes, Bernie, such a sad story, must have been hard to share. But like DorK said, hoping talking about it helped some. Sometimes it helps a lot to get something vented. And Gail, I loved that WD sweater you knitted too, soooo cute. DorK, hope you realized my ranting was NOT aimed at you in anyway, shape or form. Guess maybe with our upcoming trip, knowing we will meet people that will ask where we are from, and their reaction when I say "Alabama". might be having to vent beforehand! OR will say my parents still live in HI and thats where I'm from! LOL. ANd yes, my DD does not like new car smells, but she has other issues too, along with depression, so that all prolly fits in somehow. Hope you get dressed in time!!! Cheers!
This should bring a SMILE to your faces.....my Dad just sent me this....sooooo cute of "Gin" the dancing dog......

Bernie - How cool you got a Saab, they are nice, I have had two of them, I forget the years, but they were so fun to drive! I had a dark green one and a burgundy red one. I was horrified to read of your torture yesterday, I'm so sorry and just hope this will be over for you soon. I'm glad your DH is being so good to you.
Scuby - Really digging the Woodford Reserve KY Bourbon - tank u tank u! And forced time or a butt kick, hooo hooo hoooo, I, DaBean, will take sume time for meesy weesey for 24 hours dwinking KY Boybon. Will take get my a$$ kicked or what? BTW, just so long as you dwink wine and don't fart around in the bathtub - tee hee! Just read your prayer for Allison, too, just beautiful!
AStorm - WD pumpkin is sooooo sooo cute! I love it, really nice sculpture work. And the WD autumn sweat it just adorable, nice work! Like Scuby I'm a sucker for all things WD.
Kymn - LOL at your post popping by for the fukitol fountain and back later for a dwink.
Juliet - guess I will have to find a cider, I don't tink I've had that before...hummm where to find rattlers??
MemaSue - Not sure if I've met you, so will say HOWDY and glad you got past miserable to libation.
Vino - Bus trip has been a blast and we're just waiting to hear how you feel. Loved your trip to ICONS and I betcha look great.
DorK - That is an important vote and I hope you get your people involved soas no lose the right for booze! Oh, just ready you are chilly, sore in 3 places and nauseated...I sure hope you are feeling better this morning.
Jaybird - So good to hear from you! Hope you had a super nice cocktail...eck to Chuck E Cheese, glad you survived that. Losing Junie hit me really hard and bumped me off for a while, I totally understand. So sorry to hear about another bco friend on her final journey. I've had two people in my life who have dif cancer too who have decided no more tx...all hits so hard.
Wahine - I will join you in raising my glass to the bco gal. Tanks for saying you liked my post too. Love the "gin" dancing dog youtube, so cute!!! Hope you are getting all packed up and ready to twavel.
Claire - Hope you are not working too hard.
Tiedye - NM asked a good question, is this the sentinel node biopsy? I had that and I was not too bad, no pain afterward really...just all scary. I am praying for you. Please keep us posted on how you are doing. So that is Friday? We will go straight from Vino to you on the magic party bus to make sure all goes smooooooth for you too!
Karen - glad you are on the bus today!
Goldie - That's neet you can clone yourself...looks like the party bus is going to Tiedye tomorrow and Vino today...unless I just had way too muck likker and got funcused again.
NM - Yahooo, always great reading your posts, just da bestest! Well, it did happen here finally - SNOW! And lots of it, looks so pretty on the trees and all. I loved your prayer to Jaybird and her friend too. Just amazing.
DorK - tanks for da nice woyds about my Daddy...it was really painful, still is and I miss him. He passed away June 2009, guess what Feb 2010 is when I found my rat ba$stard lump. It was so stressful. I miss him so so so much. Yeah, everytime I think about it me cwies.
So many things have been fubar in my life. I do hafta say if I weren't crazy I would go insane. Thanks for lettin me be here to share the good, the bad and the fugly.

Titz Up! ~bEanZ

Wahine-I don't believe there is any such thing as a "perfect" prayer, if there were than way to many of us wouldn't be able to talk to God. God made me the way I am, so I figure HE must not mind my rather direct approach to talking about things. That's just the way I talk to HIM. When you were describing the places where you can get likker-most eating establishments, grocery/drug stores, on Sundays (after 12 noon), state likker stores, I thought you were talking about Maine! But then I realized you weren't because Maine gov'ment in it's infinite wisdom, stopped running state likker stores a few years back. Got rid of one entire income stream rather than pay a few store clerks a raise. And thanks for the prayers for my Mom, she needs them and so do I!
DorK-can't believe I forgot to come back and finish the other day. Too much life getting in the way, I suppose. Right now I'm taking a break after half re-arranging the living room. Got a huge mess in the middle of the room but the work corner is tidy, and everything is plugged back in!
Gin is adorable!
Beanie-snow finds almost all of us eventually! We all have to take our turns getting hit, I suppose! I haven't heard the acronym FUBAR in a long time, but it sure seems to fit sometimes!

Oh Scuby, what a funny post. Can see you standing on da corner at 7am with lampshade and drinks in hand! Awww, such a nice prayer for our MrsV.....BARMEN!
Hey Jaybird, so good to see your wicked self, can't wait to see the Halloween pics of you and our dear Lil Avery. Sending prayers out to your friend and her famiy, it's awful to hear these things. I know Junie is soaring around with each and every one of us. Kathy is leaving for Ireland on Saturday, how cool would that be if you were one of the flight attendants!
DorK, I'll vote with yay with ya, and then we can go to Olive Garden or Applebee's and toast our vote! I do hope you are feeling better today luv! I think you are the toughest one here!
Tiedye, we can be there for you too friend. Remember, this bus is MAGIC. And if you have any questions, ask away. With all the different gals here, I'm sure one of us will have an answer.
Karen, I ALWAYS pack more than I need and it IS so I can have choices. Safe travels and have fun.
Awwwww, MrsV, so sorry you couldn't sleep and hope you can rest today. But like you said, at least the nails are beautimous! And we will have the fukitol fountain and percotini fountain on standby for ya.
Oh my NM, that was quite the dream you had there, but the zip line sounds fun. Maybe Beans could get her hubby to make you some shoes/boots with the nails in them to keep you from falling. We can't have you getting hurt, so be sure to be extra cautious. Funny big bird pic. So sorry to hear about your moms leaky valve. I have one of those too, but haven't had it checked in 3 years! MY BAD! And BARMEN to your beautiful prayer too.
Been reading and writing for over an hour now, Kathy reminded me of your back Dork, I hope too that it goes down soon, and your arm feels better quickly!
Kathy, glad you mentioned for the girls to look for foil. And to you, I like dem apples! How sweet of DorK to offer to drive your DD's new car if she gets one....LOL!
Cali is work and see the grandkids DorK. And NM, I will jump in for Karen and answer your question as to what an IEP. It stands for Individual Education Plan, it is a plan they put together for special needs students, and an IEPC is same, but the "C" is for committee.
Well, another almost half hour later, I better post and then check to see what I missed...........WHEW!

Hi loungettes, I am back on the bus for a widdle while.
NM, sorry, failed to mention that I also hope and pray that your Mom is okay. I am going to go back later and re-read all the posts starting from after i went to bed last night. Did I tell you girls already that I had another horrific night and the hallucinating/nightmares came back and were with me for hours. Hot flashes too. I am going to talk to my primary care doctor next week about this. I took myself off one of the meds that i think is causing this, can't take it anymore. It is not a bc related dwug so it is okay for me to make me own decision.
I must have also missed something Jaybird said. To her and also de Beanie, will pray for your friends. You all know I know your pain all too well. cancer blows, cancer sux, cancer can take a hike. As NM said in a prior prayer, hoping to see a cure. We can send men to da moon, so why can't dey cure cancer??
Onto a happy topic, I am soooo excited, me tinks me elbow surgery was a great success, ALREADY. Despite the severe muscle atrophy in my hand, I am already gaining strength and could also feel the feather that my PT ran across mynumb fingers. And the big news.....drrrum roll.............. I am now again already able to cross my fingers (index and FU finger)!! I used to have to use my thumb to get them crossed and I did it with no help from Mr. Thumb!! The nerve regenerates at an inch per month, today is two weeks post surgery so that would be a half inch and i already show progress! My PT lady is so cool and upbeat. Of course, being my first appointment, and not having to do any that hurts helped. I will see how I feel about her once she gets me working it lol. My exercise for now is stimulate my nerve endings at the surgical site. All I do is rub a gauze pad on the site five times a day. This is to desensitize the incision area. It felt so weird but I am psyched!. I will also be doing my breast PT now to prep for my exchange in december.
I have not forgotten about the pics. I will post more later but here are a few. I have been messing around too long in trying to resize them but have to give up as me is tired and it is happy nappy time. OMG I am upstairs and has been rainy all day, just now the wind picked up so bad and sounded like something flew into the roof! Gonna check that out in a minute. NM, our groceries can sell beer/wine 24/7, do not have the Sun till noon cut-off. I remember years ago they had none on Sunday, and it was so strange that they had to close off those aisles that day. BTW, I think all prayers are "perfect", as it is whichever way we feel is right, and very personal....and so, to me, all your prayers are perfect!!! Thanks so much for them.
Yeah, Jaybird are you flying ALT-JFK or JFK-DUB on Saturday??/ Wouldn't that be awesome if we were on the same flights!!!
DorK, are you feeling better? Hate the nausea, and feeling so poorly. You have been doing a lot lately, and should be resting!!!
Love the cat caught in the chair pic, Beans! Reminds me of when I got my head caught under a neighbors porch. Someone mentioned earlier playing at the neighbors house (was that you, Dork?) and thinking they were being mean to chase them off. We did the same thing, but we all played "baseball" in a neighbors yard who was off at work. Imagine my shock when I went to retrieve the ball which went under his front porch (had wood slats from porch to ground), and when I stuck my head out to throw them the ball, my head got stuck! I think all the other kids ran off...as we were always scared the guy that lived there would come home and find us! Oh, what things we all did as kids!!!!
OK, gonna see what the wind is doing....

Evening all, still can't keep up with you.
dorothyK, some meds will cause hallicunations, nightmares etc if you try to come off them too quick. The drugs company way of keeping you on them - not that i'm cynical you understand.
Whoever is moving take care and enjoy your new homes.
thinking off you all.
Tuesday - last day of torture - the whole party is on me
Monday - hopefully meeting Wahine - so looking forward.
Had fish and chips at the seaside today - Huge tide and winds - brilliant
Just partaking in a smallish glass of red - medicinal purpose only you understand

Ohhh Bernie, I wish we were travelling on our own this time (we have only done an escorted tour once before), as then we could enjoy fish and chips at the seaside with you! Sounds heavenly. Your last day of rads is on Tuesday? Will partay for you that night, not sure where we will be, will have to look at itinerary. Maybe you can join us wherever we may be? Wish you were already done with that, but soon, soon, soon you will be!
Wind just blew up the shades on the deck....no probs...yipppee for that! (They have heavy wood fat dowels on the bottom, so makes a loud racket when they come undone and blow around).

Hi girls! Home resting comfortably in bed now. Doctor said all went great! And all the nurses wanted to know who did my nails, lol! Granuloma in throat hurts most right now, as being intubated makes it worse. Can hardly talk. Trying to fall asleep while typing, gonna scoot for now, thank you girls soooo much for coming in the bus! Love ya! Now gonna go either lay in the hammock, or lounge in a chair on the beach, wherever I drop first....

Too much to take in! Have to catch up at work after the long Partay Bus ride! Allison, so psyched it went well! Rest and recoup girlfriend!
Cindy, that is great news for you!
Gotta dash! Cheers to all! Scuby0 -
right Scuby? great news all around today....am I asking to much to want more??? me is apologizing that the pic came out so huge. and the one of both of us did not post. I will try again. I did not say the "s" word! hugs to you.
Allison, I am so happy for you, hope you are resting well. your throat should feel better tomorrow, try to stay away from food with 'sharp' edges such as crisp pizza/chips. i was concerned that you visited the ICONS but bit my tongue. I have been told in the past no polish as they need to see the coloring of your nails while under the anesthesia but apparently not an issue. Can you do my nails, they are a mess. I just asked DH if he will do mine tonight and he said yes. gotta love that boy. well most of the time hehe. I use only clear polish so should be okay!
Cindy, more great news from you too, congrats! I know you were concerned but today's news, for me, is the best news of the week in the htl! Will continue to pray for you.
Kathy, is your roof okay? yikes.
well I am heading over to see DH. can't wait to show him that I can cross my fingers again, yippeee! I will drink to that!
thinking of Junie today, she has been on my mind a lot lately. hoping her DD and her Bob are healing and know that she is watching.
peace and loving thoughts going out to all of you wunderful gals! here is a toast to all of us **clink**!
cheerZ!

DorK, Just realized when I posted 6 hrs ago, I didn't see your post right b4 mine! LOVE the pics....nice one of Lisa! But you should have had someone take it of the both of you!!! And what a sweetie WD! Nice pics, thanks so much!!! Glad you are having some success ALREADY with your hand...wow that is fast!! Yeah, Junie has been on my mind a lot lately too. Heard from her DD the other day, which was nice. Meant to send Bob a bday card for his Halloween b'day, but totally foigot.
Allison, GREAT NEWS!!!! Yay!!!! Now you rest, ok, and DO NOT overdo things. Nice you could go in with nice nails! I am like DorK, they always seem to tell me not to have nail polish on.
Going to repack for my mom tomorrow. Saw their carry-on and lifted it and it was sooo heavy! I thought WTH???? Well, that was the entire suitcase she had packed her things in. I think she may want to bring some scotch back, or other things, so will not only repack for her in a larger suitcase, but make sure she has everything she needs. All I have to decide now is which coat/jacket to take. Had my pretty one all ready to go, but with all the rain expected, and it is a heavy coat, so will prolly take something else. Lori, are you proud of me??? NEVER pack this early....HOORAY!! That deserves a dwink.....

Cindy, that is awesome news! Soooo happy for you! Hope you're celebrating with a dwink or two!!
I am laying here typing on my iPad with arms against sides, but not gonna do much more, just wanted to check in. More pain meds at 10:00 then hopefully sleep.
Wahine, I'm so excited for you! Day after tomorrow! Yippee! And about polish, it depends on which hospital here. They have these machines that "see through" color to test oxygen level. Love it!
Like the pic of Mrs. Scuby and also went back and found chicken suit, Gail, you're a riot! So cool! Ok, gonna get back to my movie, you gals have a good night, and a drink for me! Love ya!! ((((hugs)))) ouch, huwts me! I'll stick with kisses for a few days xxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Allison, awesome to hear you are rockin it. Think my hospital might not care as I never heard about de nail polish (some of you might remember that I wanted only nail polish on my middle finger a while back, ICONS might change dat!).
DorKie, so happy early indications are so good! You, my friend, need easy healing. You deserve it! We did get pic of bof of us, DorK can post it later! We wuz toasting de HTL! Scuba didn't get de signs organized yet, woiking on it. Have already made my "F-you rat ba$tard" sign for underwater in April. (first scuba dive since dum old Dx)!
Lori and Kath, safe travels, my grandmother's favorite Irish blessing was "May the road rise to
meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon you fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.". Bernie, not sure if it is still in common use, but my GM would have been 100 last month and she rocked, always think of her when I think of traveling for that quote. Hope dat SAAB is getting put to its paces. I had a dark green 900S Turbo once upon a time! Lol, hope you feel okay!
Well, heading to de tub wif my glass of vino, sorry Allison, dwank too much bourbon already on de bus!
Cheers, Beers, and To Fridays my Dears! Scuba!0 -
What a nice Irish blessing, Lisa! I had heard that before, but how neat that your grandma used to say it. Oh, so glad you took more pics...can't wait to see them!
Allison, take care, and heal without any surprises!
Lori, Having fun gambling tonight???
Cheers Ma Dears!

Hey Kath, didn't dwown in de tub, despite ignoring the no alcohol warning! Lol! DorK got her pic of bof of us, I did mess up tho, she had a henna tattoo on her middle finger, I wanted a pic. But as per the HTL dynamic, we wuz so busy chatting, that we barely made our appointments! It's kind of a disease here in de HTL, we iz so chatty on-line, we iz dangerous in de real life!

Goodness girls so many great things happening with you all today, really cant keep up, and still trying to learn everyones names lol.
Wahine - thinking of you and your weather prob at the moment, hoping all is well and you are safe, we don't get that "scary weather out here in California!
Mrs Vino- SO happy for you and that you are resting and healing. Thank you for the encouragement and info.
NM-so sweet with all of your info and understanding. Hadnt even thought bout asking for meds to help with depression, good to know that's and option if needed. And since you asked, lol.....I LOVE beer but tend to be able to drink the boys under the table with it, so usually stick with red wine.
DorthyK-You as well with all of your encouragement and understanding.....you are a sweetie! I am too new to know all about your issues with the hand but never the less am so glad to hear that you are healing so very well.......crossing your fingers is a good thing!!
So many others whose names I'm still learning: Scuba-duchess, Beanius, the pretty girl with the strawberry blonde hair, movie makers etc.....you have all been such a source of strength for me this week! Thank you s much!!!
Anyone care to fill me in on this "foil" thing?? I'm lost, could be too much wine lol.
For now, my lymph nodes are clear, just the breasts to worry bout. Genetic counseling on the 15th. Chemo first, then double BMX (look at me using the abbreviations!!) Anything I should know bout chemo?
Enjoyed an amazing dinner prepared by my wonderful BF who is a Chef and is cooking all cancer fighting foods for me these days. The fire is warm and toasty, I have wine, and for tonight I have a small sense of relief.
Goodnite girls and hugs to everyone of you.
Cindy
