aww, Allison, yer post made mese smile. I not feeling so gwate disnight and not happiestest. Ya see, mese had to rewrap mese body cuz dey wrap was sooo not comfiestest. It had to be done, de bandageses slipped so low and refuseded to stay. So mese unwrapped and rewapped. so i not only sorliestest, mese also sad about de big dent in mese foob. dis all is suckidyestest. Mese will send Stella, she boarding de #9 bus to Loooeybille dis ebbening. And glad you did not listens to her sayin to Bernie, well you know. I also hope dear Bernie's heart is feeling better. I miss Bernie but will not be sailfish and complane.
NM, I found a big dent in my back too. Looks berry weird, as if he took a big chunk from inside of me for de family dinner. hehe, had to make a joke to keep from cwying. So yes, I had DH help me rewrap and I had a looksie at ebbryting. Not sure what up with de big dent in my back and anudder in my foob. When the implant was dropped, it had too much "meat" in that area and now does not have enuff. I guess it will have to do, no more soygery for mese.

Bernie - Ditto...hope you are OK....n Calva too. My baby Bella...she not a goot traveler...last few times we take her if more than 30 min drive...she throw up. She did again dis day in OOOtah. But, aside from that...she braver den her big brother Baxter. We stop...let em out to smell new smells....Bella go like a rocket...all ober da place. Bax...he pee and jump right back in da car. All da doors are open dis stop time. He jes sit der wif dis look like wese gonna leave him in da desert. Broke my heart. So I call Bella and Bax and start walking ...soon here's Bax....but wud not take his eyes off me. Makes me wonder how bad he was mistreated before we adopted him. Den, 30 mins later we stop at a lake...I put leashes on both cuz other people around....Bax acts normal...yankin on his leash...runnin it out...jes crazy. As far as those dents, it "might" still have to settle a bit (hope so!), but if you still end up wid a dent in yur foob, mese tinks da PS kin inject some fat there. Dats whut he had to do to mine....had an area dat was a bit concave. So twy not ta be toooo down (can't let enny1 back in dat wabbit hole, ya know), becuz mebbe dere will be a solution dat won't be so bad. OR maybe it will look gwate when youse is all healed. I am so over all this crap as it just seems to go on and on! Hopefully there will only be another two or three tests before I need to see the specialist next week Thursday. The INR behaved itself earlier in the week so hoping it's still behaving lol. I'll let you know tomorrow just what it is and wether it's good or not.Have a good night!

Good Morning, Loungettes! Don't know why but I slept exceptionally well last night. Woke up at 5:30 ayem, ready to get out of bed and get the coffee on. So coffee's done, dishwasher half emptied, dog fed, e-mails checked, newspaper read, and now on to fun time in the HTL!
Cindy--that cat pic is a hoot, isn't it? Hope you slept as well as I did!
DorKable--I knew there would be a question or two that would be a bit odd, but I have to admit I never thought of that one! It's a good question, though, made me think and gave me a chance to talk about some abstract stuff. No, I did not get an offer for this job, and this job is a per diem job, not a regular hours one. It's part of my scheme for the future when I get into teaching again. Going back into teaching will mean taking a pay cut again (although not as big as before) and being in a per diem pool gives me (1) a way to stay active in nursing and help me keep up to date and (2) a boost to the income. The application and interview process for the teaching jobs I've applied for will run through the summer (the jobs start in August or September, depending on the school's calendar). In the meantime I'm looking at part-time and per diem jobs that might hold me financially if I get fired from the current position. I expect that the doctor's office will hire a few per diem nurses for the pool and train us all together, that 's the way it usually works anyway.
Mema--Don't worry, you all here are my primary "caseload" and I'm not going anywhere. I've gotten too fond of having a life outside of work, and am setting things up so that will happen. I depend on you ladies here to help me stay sane in this insane world, and won't do anything that takes me away! Dark Shadows is a Johnny Depp movie that is based on a TV show that was popular when I was growing up. The story is based in Maine so it's of special interest around here. The series was basically a soap opera with vampires. I never got to watch it much as it came on at the same time as Sesame Street, which my then baby brother used to watch. The series is so old that it was in black and white. The movie was OK, not great but not a waste of money, either.
Mrs. Vino--The doctor's office job is business hours only--no weekends, no holidays, no getting out hours after the shift is over, so I will have plenty of time for the Lounge! The office is looking for more providers, so a third triage nurse position may indeed open up, and that wouldn't be a bad full time job if teaching doesn't work out. Time will tell what God's plan is.
Oh, DorKable,, mese is sad that you are not happy with the results. Is it possible that things will even out when the swelling goes down? Please wait until you are healed up from this surgery before deciding about more. If the results are not to your liking there are ways to fix it, your PS should be telling you about them when you see him next. Be sure you get explanations for the dents, too. It really upsets me that we don't get told about this kind of thing ahead of time. It would be so much easier to deal with if we knew ahead of time, and sometimes it would influence our choice of treatment. Sending gentle hugs {{{{{hug}}}}}

Wahine--I'm with you, hoping that the dent will even out when the swelling go down. Things can look so different in the early stages of healing than when everything is healed.

Sad day, as my parents go back to HI early tomorrow ayem. Even though my dad caused so much stress, I will still miss them a lot, and worry about them there. Will be picking up my mom before lunch for her hair appt, then lunch, then shopping. I always get sad several days before they leave...worry that I should have maybe spent more time with them, etc. Since we were painting a lot (my mom and I), I didn't get to do as much around their house as I usually do. So guess I will be working there a lot while they are in HI. Lots of little odds and ends that take a lot of time.

Hi Lori, Glad you could pop in, and hope all that woik results in more $$$$! Yeah, be so careful outside with all that smoke in the air....still hoping it does not come anywhere near where you live. Scary!!! Yeah, my parents leave early in the ayem....gotta pick them up b4 5 ayem. Morning dahhlinks! Finish my walk....made a 'sugery' getwell card for patron at woik...DH worked all morning to get his 2 batteries outta da big truck (Ram 2500). Day before yest, he left the a/c fan on and it ran down the batts. He had it hooked up all yest afternoon n all thru the nite...but dey dead dead dead. So now he haulin em to Wal-Mart. Had bought them there and has warranty paperwork...prob is, sometimes Wallymart doesn't hab the BIG batts. Hope they do and he come home with new ones. Then we are posed to go target practicing, never found a place yest in our OOOtah travels, but there is a place bout 3 miles from us here. We'll see. Den to drop da card at the bar cuz they doing a little special thingy for da guy...gonna have double hip replacement on Friday...OUCH! We put in da card..."FEEL BETTER SOON SO WE CAN GUILTLESSLY MAKE FUN OF YOU AGAIN!" lol He's a good sport tho.

So I had a busy day for a goil jest five days post op. Took my car to the body shop early am and got a rental car. I have a Toyota Prius, so neat having a hybrid. My insurance allowed for a few steps up, could have gotten an SUV but could not imagine trying to park a larger car in the parking garage in Philly.

I went to my doc for my "box check", de dreaded annual exam. The good news is that if the HPV test comes back negative, I will not need a pap for five years, will only need an internal which is not half as bad as the dreaded pap.
So gonna down some un-denters in honor of both my titties and my car getting bixed. Have to run to the pharmacy, got more pain pills today but did not feel like waiting so told them I would come back after dinner. DH was going to stop by but is still on de road. I might wait until de aye em for a drug run, have a beloved two percocets left in my stash. I tank God for my doctor who is berry generous with de dwugs unlike my PS.

Cyn - ewe good goil...took mese way longer to figure it out. Yep...mese in Mesquite, bout 90 miles North of Vegas and only 40 miles South of St George OOOtah. We love it here. My surgeon sed, if I had opted for the bi-lat mast...I'd have to do rads to chest wall...cuz dat RB got some my ribs. I opted NO on BMX but I didn't ask how much/long for da rads had I gone that way..now I'm jes curious. Won't see her again for what, at least 4 mos. so no biggy, but mese members my auntie Sue, she had rads n burned her skin. All mese can do is pray like da dickens fer ya dat you are more dan 1/2 thru and da cream starts to hailp. N da meantimes...les hab a un-dent-er cockatail!!

I have only heard of it in the past few years from tv adds for a vacine to protect young girls. It was a catchy commecial, not sure if any yese have seen it. The commercial with girls jumping while chearing "o-n-e-l-e-s-s" one less one less, meaning one less girl to carry the virus. The impression I got from the doctor is that many woman carry this virus. I have to ask NM to chime in but I believe that if I do not have the virus, than my chances of cervical cancer are so low that it would not warrant the pap shmeer chit. I know dis not a pleasant topic but seems that we could all benefit from the info. You asked! But back to dwinking, anybuddy here???

Mese been away toodey den had no internet as when we tried to change the light switch, turns out the outlets go thru there also (huh?), so I had to get a diff switch, and from late ayem to late pee-em, wese cud knot use puters, as dats the room de main one is plugged in. SO, DH got the new switch in, all puters are working, BUT have not turned on the ceiling fan yet as I am affeerd dat mite bese where de twoubles are. Mebbe tamarra will twy it, cuz do not want a fire, no sireeeee....but gottsa find out where dat elec burning smell wuz cuming from. (And its NOT from Alli's microphone, as I know she has de super deluxe cordless model...LOL....j/k Allicat, youse knows dat!).

Good morning, Loungettes! Another foggy morning, but gonna be a good one. I got a call yesterday, the fencing people had a cancellation so they're going to be there today! Assuming they work in the rain, of course. Now I'm going to need to get one of those screens with magnets and put it up so Sadie can go in and out as she pleases and I won't get eaten up by bugs. I'm so excited!!! (Doesn't take much, does it?)

Mema--"box check" is the annual pelvic exam and pap smear test. HPV is Human Papilloma Virus, which can cause cervical cancer. The new and relatively controversial vaccine that's come out for pre-teen and teenage girls protects against 4 of the most common of the hundred or so papilloma viruses. WallyWorld does have some good bargains on occasion, doesn't it?

DorKable--losing posts is the PITTS! And losing 2? Double the PITTS!!! And you got it right, a woman who does not have HPV is at much less risk of cervical cancer than a woman with it. Unfortunately, it is so widespread that many women (and men) have it and don't know it. And there's a movement starting to vaccinate pre-teen and teenage boys, too, to help break the cycle. BUT: the vaccine only protects against 4 strains of HPV and there are hundreds out there. Still, it's a start! Finally, something that actively PREVENTS a cancer!
