And then when you hear us talk about our dear Junie, she was here longer den any of us, but we lost her to COPD last Aug 1. - Cyn, When I had my bilat mast/recon, my surgery was scheduled for 5:30pm, and so I had to not only fast all night/day, but couldn't even drink water. It was a very hot day (all his "permanent" marks on me sweated off!) and my DD had come in fr Georgia, so we were talking nonstop and mese mouth was sooo dry! But since she was there with me, it didn't seem so bad, cuz we had fun all day. HOpe it will help you having Jodi there!
- Ok chickadees, I think my lunch break is over. Gotta do more sorting for de movers. OH yeah, I now know how my mom fell last night. She was sitting on the foot rest of the recliner sofa!!! So at least when she fell on her back and head, it was from sitting height and not standing up. WHY was she sitting on that? Esp their recl sofa, as the foot rests never stay where they are supposed to. Maybe cuz she sits on them??????? But I am glad I went to her dr with her as I told him all that, and he checked her head, ears, etc real good. ALSO she told him last time she hadn't taken any meds for months so they took it off her chart...NOT...she takes 2/day. Sheesh! SO now I have to make sure she takes them day/nite for a wk so he can do blood work before I leave and see what she needs. Will see him the day I fly out, next Wed, the 25th. OMG there is so much to do before then!

Good evening, Loungettes! Stopping in for a bit of a celebration dwinky. The interview went very, very well, the director said I would be hearing from them. Things are run very differently there than at the agency where I am now, the nurses are treated like professionals. Sounds like a great benefit package. Orientation is 2 days in Boston with the company paying for hotel room and a stipend for meals. They were impressed with my Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse certification. I'm really curious to see what the pay rate they offer will be. If what I've been hearing from other sources is true I might even be able to work part time and still make good money. Not that I'm holding my breath for that, but it's a nice thought.

Dorkie, Really??? Rabbits doing de ting dey do, right in front of youse??? Soooo funny, neber seen wabbits do it before. Had a baby mynah on the back patio, but sooo tiny and needed parents to feed it. SO, convinced my parents to feed the mynahs too...usually they only like to feed the regular cardinals and brazilian cardinals....then the bulboos(sp?) and mynahs swoop down and grab all the food. BUT this time the mynahs had babies to feed, esp this one that must've fallen from the coconut tree.
Thanks for the reminder NM....called down and wanted to make sure my mom took her night pill I left on the table. Well, now it is not to be found, so we gotta hope she took it. My dad had some breadfruit ripen on this huge tree he has, right outside by back upstairs porch. He cooked some tonight, then fried it, and OMG there is nothing better! Cannot buy it, even here. I never had some till a few yrs ago, and just love it. Well, my mom and I picked up a neighbor this ayem and took her into town and she said she hoped to get a breadfruit before they move. STUPID me told my dad tonight, so he took 2 to her (we just cooked 3/4 of one tonight for 3 of us, and she lives alone). So I told him, "I hope we will have more before we leave". And he said "I hope so too". Well shoot, wouldn't you think he would make sure we could have it again before giving some away???? Aarrggghhhhhh. Anyway, gotta leave early in the ayem for Hilo...hope to have a nice couple of days away.

Good morning, Loungettes! I gave in and turned the AC on in the bedroom again last night and slept like a log. Not sure why I resist turning that on at night, gotta stop that. Even Sadie appreciated the AC, stretched out on the bed right in the air flow. Got an appointment with the ENT doc this am, probably need the tube in the left ear put back in. Then I need to stop at a place that should have some gas grills so I can replace the one that is dead. I've got steak marinated in the fridge to cook up on it. The guys should be here today to fix the deck, should be a 1 day project if it doesn't rain (thunderstorms predicted for this am and pm). Busy day today!
DorKable--keep praying for me and the job, and I did look for foil as a sign from Junie. I didn't see any, but I still got very good vibes there.

Wahine--sounds like your Mom needs some ongoing assistance with medications and such. There is a gizmo out there that dispenses pills and makes a noise and flashes a light when they are due to be taken, and keeps a record. It has to be filled once a month, and can be rented monthly. Here the agency that does the emergency call system also has this gizmo, you might want to check into that for your Mom. Anyway, enjoy your time in Hilo, and try to have some fun and relaxation!
Juliet--Aha! Friday the 13th! That's the effect we were feeling at work this weekend! One of the good things about the job I interviewed for is that that there is no call once all the call positions are filled. They actually hire someone to be on call weeknights, and someone to be on call over the weekend. Almost unheard of for a health care job! Even with the weekend position not being filled the weekend call work would only be once every 5 weeks. I was expecting a regular rotation type system, this is much more attractive. I know you've probably already said, but what kind of place do you work at? Those pics are HILARIOUS!!!!!! Where do you find them?????

Chrissy, hope you caught your breath. You should have stopped and rested a few times, but I must say, you sang that beoooootifully, even if you were totally WASTED! Always goot to see you smiling face.
Nope Kathy, no sore okole, not at all! This doctor was awesome, she was so sweet and imformative. Ya know all along when I get my blood work, they tell me all is good. Well, she told me I was a mess! Asked me how I felt, I feel fine. She said if she were in my body, she would be home in bed sleeping. Said the thyroid medication I was on wasn't doing a thing for me, so gave me a new one, my vit D was way low, put me on weekly 50,000 i.u. as well as my vit B, started me on weekly shots. Sees me again in 6 weeks, she will watch my estrogen very close, and show me how it will stay low, it was a 5. Also in 6 weeks, I can get a BOOSTER pellet Here is her FAQ page from her website, if anyone wants to look at. She said that I will no doubt be off of 2 of my medications with this treatment. The clonidine I take for hot flashes and the Lipitor for cholesterol. She is on the one on the left, in the photo.
