Ya know, we really need MORE guys here....our Cyn has those girls all to herself, but we have to share, so I think more are needed. LOL....good thing we DO share and it does work out. Love all the pics for Cyn though....gotta make sure all us loungettes are taken care of! Aren't we the greatest group of breasties!!!
Lori, that is AWESOME that you were mentioned in that magazine....nothing like GOOD free advertising!!! That is impressive. Might be hard keeping up with business after that article, but what a good problem to have! Yippppeeeeeee!!! That bill is horrid though...guess none of it is covered by ins? Can the blood work get covered????
NM, Love that T-shirt.....can we all get one? ALso the K-Rex dwink, purrrrrfect! That Cheers Bar is the "Bull & Finch Pub"...I've been there too. Have a good girlfriend in Boston (works at Boston City Hosp) and used to visit her there. SO much to see. ALso thats where I jumped into the car with 2 tv stars in it to take their picture, right on the busy street. Don't know how I didn't get arrested, but they were HUNKS, and it was worth the risk. But when my friend came to visit me here for a few days, on our way to Hawaii, she thought the silence at night was deafening! LOL....she is so used to the city noises. Hope you have some time for fun when you are there!
Parents arrived safely. Mom always looks so good when she travels. She looked so worn out when I left (as I had to work her every day) that I thought she would look that way after all that flying, but she surprised us. Icing down my ankle as their heavy (70 lb) bag plus one I had on top of it, fell on my ankle....hurts like heck, plus is all swollen and green. They had 8 bags (6 heavy checked bags and 2 carry-ons, plus purse, and a bag with the leis and stuff they were given by my step-bros.
Take care girls. Think I will enjoy Rex.....of if he is bizzy, will enjoy the K-Rex dwink that NM got for us!!!! Two, Two, Two dwinks in one, for our Twos-dey!!! YIppee!! I mean....Brown Chicken, Brown Cow! Cheers!

CO NotesGood afternoon, Loungettes!
Goldie--I'm leaving Sunday afternoon, working in the am so may not get on the computer Sunday. Orientation is all day Monday and Tuesday, coming back Tuesday pm. Expect to get home near midnight, depending on how efficiently I leave Boston and how long the stop at the Mall in Portland lasts (shopping plus dinner, maybe connecting with a friend). Should be on the computer Wednesday, but I will be going to get Sadie back from Auntie, so if I'm in too much withdrawal I may leave home as soon as I wake up. You should hear from me on Thursday at the latest. I will check and see if there is computer access at the hotel, and probably jump on line for a quick drink if I can.
$1700? YIKES!!!!! Where is Sexy Rexy Boom Boom man?????
Hooray for the mention in Mother Earth News!ORLA--I hear you about the clothes thing. Is your arm swollen? If so, that is a temporary problem. I'm trying to remember what surgery you just had, was it on your arm? Here, dear, have a dwinky. And here comes Sexy Rexy Boom Boom to comfort you!
I'm heading in to do an admission, save a pool floatie and some dwinkies for me, I'll be back this evening!
Wahine--Sigh of relief that your parents are safely home. Ouch for the ankle, keep that ice on it, elevate it, you know: RICE: Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevate. If you have an Ace wrap it would be good to put it on--it will help minimize the swelling.
ORLA--
Well, off to some extra $$$, back later.0 -
NM, Thanks for the reminders, and didn't know to wrap in an ace bandage...have tons of those. Also would prolly be good to wrap around my ice pak to keep it in place during those minutes of icing. Its on the outside ankle bone, so tricky keeping it in place. Sounds like a fun time in Boston, even though its really a work trip!
Orla, Hoping, like NM said, that it is a temp swelling. You need some STRONG dwinks and a session with a Tender to keep your mind off those probs.
Well shoot I had a lot to do here today, but stuck in this chair w/ foot elevated, so ketching up on more recorded programs, and puter stuff. CAN'T WAIT TILL MY NEW PUTER GETS HERE....will be so much easier than using this teeny tiny ting.
Hugs! Drugs! Mugs! (of ML's)!~

One dark night outside a small town, a fire started inside the local chemical plant. Before long it exploded into flames and an alarm went out to fire departments from miles around.
After fighting the fire for over an hour, the chemical company president approached the fire chief and said, "All of our secret formulas are in the vault in the center of the plant. They must be saved! I will give $50,000 to the engine company that brings them out safely!"
As soon as the chief heard this, he ordered the firemen to strengthen their attack on the blaze. After two more hours of attacking the fire, the president of the company offered $100,000 to the engine company that could bring out the company's secret files.
From the distance a long siren was heard and another fire truck came into sight. It was a local volunteer fire company composed entirely of men over 65. To everyone's amazement the little fire engine raced through the Chemical plant gates and drove straight into the middle of the inferno. In the distance the other firemen watched as the old timers hopped off of their rig and began to fight the fire with an effort that they had never seen before.
After an hour of intense fighting the volunteer company had extinguished the fire and saved the secret formulas. Joyous, the chemical company president announced that he would double the reward to $200,000 and walked over to personally thank each of the volunteers. After thanking each of the old men individually, the president asked the group what they intended to do with the reward money.
The fire truck driver looked him right in the eye and said, "The first thing we're going to do is fix the dang brakes on that truck!"0 -
Thanks Ladies for all the HOT pics...LOL...Im all set ....Im glad you all have Sexy Rexy.
I was going to say Bull and Finch but Wawa got to it first. I've been there a hand full of times. Boston was my stomping ground in my early 20's and I knew all the hot spots...that bar actually wasnt one of them but a cool place to go when you have visitors. Growing up outside of Boston, I have never done the Freedom Trail....tho I have visited all the sites..Paul Revere's house, Old North Church...Lexington, Concord were right next door to me and Salem not too far either. I really miss Boston ... and I miss Portland..I may have to work them both into one trip. Hope you are able to stop in while you are away NM
Lori, thats so great about your being mentioned in that mag....I hope you get tons of business from that.
I just realized Im really Beat and I think a nap is in order..not able to get the DR to refill my pain meds and Im feeling it right now also...so I will drop in later tonight.
Love ya girl

Isn't it nice we can share with each other (pain pills)! That was nice of you Orla. HOPE you get the dr tomorrow and it is nothing major.
That was funneeeeeee Bernie!
Cyn, Didn't you have some excitement today???? Hope the pain subsides.
Dang, I really didn't need to just keep my foot elevated and iced down today. SO much to do. NOw my stepbro called and they can't find the back seat headrests in my dads car they just sold for him...will be $600 online for those. IF it isn't one thing its one thousand things. And we also can't get their phone/puter/tv chit hooked up till next week! Darn. Well, I ended up using my printer ink all up today...must have copied 200-300 pgs today...all old stuff from Hawaii mags from 1913...any my gpa's article too. Gotta search for more, this was fun. I think my dad will get a kick out of the copies I made for him. Neat when that can be found online. Pau Hana time is over for me....but I am waiting for our big blowout in memory of Junie tomorrow night! Get your party mode on, girlz.....we gots ta party hearty like its 1999!!!
Hope your survived today, Dorkie!
Luv and Hugs to all,
Katwinka de ankle buster today

Good morning, Loungettes! Woke up to a rainy morning. Figures, since it's trash day and I'll get damp putting out the garbage. Oh, well, such is life. Still haven't gotten any info about orientation next week, starting to get nervous. I sent an e-mail to them yesterday, think I'll make a call later today. The control freak in me is coming out, I guess. Work yesterday/last night was a pain in the anatomy. Word was that the patient was going home at 2 pm. He actually didn't go home until 5:30 pm. I sat in the office waiting ("he'll be leaving soon") from 1 pm until 6 pm when the hospital called and told me he left half an hour ago. So much for me meeting the ambulance when he arrives at his door. Very nice family, though, and a very pleasant admission visit. Lots of teaching and support, but they're going to do well. Poor man hasn't been home in over a month, just wanted to be at home. Thanks to God he is pain free, but we have the stuff we need to keep him that way if anything comes up.

Wahine--Ace wraps are good for keeping ice pack in place, that's for sure. If you have any TED stockings left over from prior surgery you can put one of them on that foot/leg and get the same compression as an ACE wrap, but easier to do. Not that the compression part is critical, it just helps minimize swelling in the first 24-48 hours. Strong dwinkies are really helpful, too! The don't' stop any swelling, but you don't care about the swelling or the owieness of the whole thing!
Here's an alternative:
BBBBernie--LOL!!!

CynCyn--The Freedom Trail is really interesting and enlightening to walk. I like having the time walking between sites to think about what has happened so long ago, and to watch people and check out architecture. Boston is just such an interesting place, but I really do not like driving there! Thank goodness for the subway system! Would you believe that I've never been to Salem? Got to add that to my list, too. It's not right that your doc won't give you more pain meds. It's not like you deliberately set your body on a different time table than "typical" after all.

ORLA--at 8 weeks I expect you are still swollen. I'm glad you're calling your doc, though, that's the kind of thing we pay them for--answering questions, reassuring us when things are OK, tending to things when they aren't. Let us know what your doc says, ok?
Wahine--moving creates so much havoc and chaos, doesn't it? Even when it isn't you that's moving! Buying new headrests is probably a lot less stressful than looking for the originals at this point, although someone will be irritated when they unpack them from a box the movers drop off. You'd think it would be a lot easier/faster to get phone/computer/tv hooked up these days. It usually doesn't take very long. And it is amazing what you can find on the internet!
DorKable--the BCO gremlin has been busy lately. We need to find some gremlin exterminators, or something. Sleep well!

Lara, when I first read your post, where you said you left the store crying, I really thought you meant "crying". But you foygot the "don't F with me" part. When will you know how your interview went for the new job? And I hope you can get that swelling taken care of. Some of you girls sure go thru a ton of chit.
NM, what on earth were they looking for in my blood, to cost so much? I think they were panning for gold. Hope you get to have some fun too in Boston and do some retail therapy, along with some sight seeing.
Kathy, your legs sure take a beating girl. I see several girls suggested a doctor, did you go? I don't like the fact that you said it was green. Your dad will need all those articles to read, since they don't have tv! Neat that you were able to find so much.
Cyn, I can't believe the doc won't refill your meds, that's terrible. I would call and raise a fuss.
Dofey, you a werking fool goil, I sawry you lost your post. Do you have Microsoft Word? NM and I type ours up there, then copy and paste it to BCO. Has anyone toured your home and have you heard anything on the one you want?
I have my ML's for today! I will be chasing them with Gremlin Fixer

And I baked a cake!
PARTY SHOULD BE IN THE CASINO TODAY
My dear sweet Junie, you are terribly missed. It's hard to believe it's been a year already. You are thought of often, and ALWAYS when I see a ML. I am so glad that I got to know you and be your friend. Much love my friend............here's to you! BARMEN

Oh my, Julie is on a cinnamon roll this ayem! Love the dog and cat fart pics.....LOL. OH but the hunkie eye candy is the bestest one!!! Good morning...lots to be said about an ayem dwink!
NM, LOL that duct tape over the bandage...good one! I only did part of that freedom trail, but it is very neat seeing that stuff. Then, they had a ship replica (must have been the Mayflower?) and people were re-enacting actual pilgrims on the voyage. The funny thing was 1 re-enactment guy (really cute) was in the NG with my friend, and he was trying to sk her when the next NG drill was, but he had to talk like they would have in those days.... "doeth thou knowest....". LOL. As far as my ankle, the swelling has gone down...looked like a round ball last night, but just have a larger ankle bone this ayem. HAted losing an entire day though, to take care of it. It WAS fun finding so much stuff online yest, ended up looking thru 1600 pgs of stuff. I think my dad will be happy to see things I found for him too, about his dad. Also found things about MY dad, as he was in the first state legislature. HE prolly threw all his stuff out b4 the move. I found out later he was tossing pictures, and important papers (well sentimental ones). At least one ayem I was able to rescue pics of my late DH and kids when they were little, from my dad's rubbish can! (Wish I had been able to see ALL the pics/papers he threw out, first).
YES Dorkie, I grew up saying "rubbish" like Chrissy.....very English thing. Hate that the stoopid gremlin ate your post. GD dat Gremlin....dats not fair. GLAD our NM has a Gremlin Fixer dwink too-dey....hope that woiks!!!! Also hoping your day will be a lot easier today, being the first of the month.
Goilz, don't foiget our BEEG BLowout Partay in Junie's memory, tonight. She would have liked it being on "Hump Dey", and gotz ta make sure all dose ML twucks park out front. Got the Tenders and Wenches bizzy alllll day woiking on some gweat food, and entertainment. Oh, oh, I see they are baking/building a HUMONGOUS cake agin....and since Pants was JUnie's fav Tender, I bet HE will be the one jumpin out of it. Lori, get those limbo sticks polished up and ready!
Have a good HumpDey girlz, hope it is a good one!!!! Jock, puleez bwing us some Gremlin Fixer dwinks....you will find me on a stool at the swim up bar.....

Ohhhhhhh Lori, didn't mean to bump into ya and ALMOST bumped into that tower of ML cans....whew, glad they didn't fall over. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, your sentiments to Junie, and ALL the ML stuff you found!!! ANd you baked a PURRRRRRFECT cake for her! AWESOME! Great way to start today....she was so amazing, and I feel so fortunate to have been one of her friends. We were all blessed to have gotten to know her, and to have been included in her circle of friends. TO those that didn't get to meet her, either online or in person, I think you prolly realize what a fantastic person she was....so caring, so uniqu e, so funny, and always had a glint in her eye, cause she was thinking of something funny to do! We sure miss you Junie!

crash Klein here. ughh, yup tis true, I was rear ended again. will be working from home today. i was a good goil and called de police. the cop was my boss's husband! also her boss, my vp, saw the accident and walked across antoher building to stay with me until the police came. I am breathing again but am still in shock.
lara, I wanted to tell you that i had major issues with wearing long sleeves. my bmx was in July and I still had a hard time putting on anything with sleeves until at least October. Like you, I had my te's removed within a few months of my bmx. hang tough, you will get there. I would suggest that you buy a larger suit for work then have it altered to fit your little body. I feel for you girl.
Kathy, how is the ankle today?
NM, great advise to Kathy on wrapping. lol at the duct tape. stop worrying about not hearing on the new job. you have the offer, they can not change their mind.
love you girls so much and miss you too. gotta fly. oops, better not say that, I might get hit. I am staying put at home today, gonna get to work now but will shirley pop in for some of nm's gremlin fixers and also lori's miller lites. It is a partay, let's sailabrate de life of Junie. ~goosebumps and more tears rolling down. such an emotional day in more ways than one..... Hugs wanted....thank you!

BIG HUGS for DOROTHY....
((((((((Dorkie)))))))
And since we are honoring Junie today, she sent some hugs down, just for you....
0 -
Kathy, I am so glad you did not bump those cans over, as with your luck, they would have fell on your ankle. And Junie would defenately have some hugs for Dorkable, aka Krash Klein.
When you take your car in Dork, take this picture and tell them this is how you want it fixed!

And so nice that you are able to give Lara some advice.

Good afternoon, Loungettes! The sun has come out, the sky is blue, and I have addresses and directions for the motel and orientation next week. NOW I can finally start packing! Oh, boy, that sounded like I'm going on this huge long trip to the end of the earth instead of a little 2 day one in a major metropolis. Good grief!
Juliet--you are on a roll, girl! I'm giggling and giggling!
Goldie-- I have no idea what they would be looking for at that cost! I would be really interested in getting a copy of the result, if I were you. I'll have time to do a little bit of fun stuff while I'm in Boston, going to make sure of that.
Wahine--I know it's a pain (pun intended) to take a day off the usual activities to take care of an injury, but you see how quickly things get better when you do? Finding stuff online is fun, isn't it?
DorKable--You got rear-ended again????? Holy cow, what imp of mischief has you in it's sites???? Crazy! And I'm not worried about the job, it was knowing where to go/being sure I had lodging. I like to have the directions all set and know where I'm going when I'm away from home. But I've got all that now, so I am happy camper again!
It was a late night and now I hear a nap calling my name. . .
BTW--the hotel has a pool AND a business center with high-speed internet!

NM, I DO have a copy of the blood work.
