The boss of a big company needed to call one of his employees about an urgent problem with one of the main computers.
He dialed the employees home phone number and was greeted with a child's whispered on the first ring, "Hello?"
Feeling put out at the inconvenience of having to talk to a youngster the boss asked, "Is your Daddy home?".
"Yes.", whispered the small voice.
May I talk with him?", the man asked.
To the surprise of the boss, the small voice whispered, "No."
Wanting to talk with an adult, the boss asked, "Is your Mommy there?".
"Yes.", came the answer.
"May I talk with her?".
Again the small voice whispered, "No."
Knowing that it was not likely that a young child would be left home alone, the boss decided he would just leave a message with the person who should be there watching over the child. "Is there any one there besides you?", the boss asked the child.
"Yes", whispered the child, "A policeman."
Wondering what a cop would be doing at his employee's home, the boss asked, "May I speak with the policeman?".
"No, he's busy.", whispered the child.
"Busy doing what?", asked the boss.
"Talking to Daddy and Mommy and the Fireman.", came the whispered answer.
Growing concerned and even worried as he heard what sounded like a helicopter through the ear piece on the phone the boss asked, "What is that noise?".
"A hello-copper.", answered the whispering voice.
What is going on there?", asked the boss, now alarmed.
In an awed whispering voice the child answered, "The search team just landed the hello-copper!"
Alarmed, concerned and more than just a little frustrated the boss asked, "Why are they there?"
Still whispering, the young voice replied along with a muffled giggle, "They're looking for me!"0 -
Thanks for my giggle to day Bernie..........Love all your yokes!

Good morning, Loungettes! My light day turned into a busy one, as usual. I hope today stays light so I can get all the paperwork done from yesterday! I feel sorry for the girls working with two software systems at the same time, what a pain in the anatomy! Today is my last working day on this job, and while I will miss the people I work with I will not miss the craziness of the weekend job.

Juliet-- it does take a lot to put us off our food, doesn't it????

Wahine--It would be nice if the men were right once in a while, wouldn't it? I bet the kayak trip was awesome, though! That pic of me and Sadie is making the rounds of the family, thanks to the wonders of internet. No privacy any more!
ORLA--Oh, dear, it has been one thing after another for you! After all the $#it the rat ba$tard puts us through recon should be easy but it never seems to be. I'll join you with the mimosas!
Goldie--I'll take that mimosa! And that psycho, thanks! Do kids even know what a stork is these days? Sadie was kinda funny, if she needed to go out to pee she wouldn't go unless I went out on the porch, too. If I went in the house she would run into the house just as fast as she could! Poor thing did not understand that I needed nappy time! Do make big batches of sketti sauce and freeze it? My mom used to do that. I can still remember the big stock pot simmering on the stove all day.

Mema--hos/clinic/docs LOAN the money???? And charge interest????? Seriously??????? Is that even legal? Must be, if it's a widespread practice. Here in Maine payment plans are set up, but no interest charged. I've heard that 80% or more of the payment plans set up never get paid off and the hosp, etc eats the cost anyway. And 18%? That's higher than some credit cards! That is crazy!

BBBBernie--I am so glad that the visitors are booking into a hotel. I cannot believe that someone would show up for a surprise visit and expect to stay a week, how inconsiderate! That bottle of wine looks just the right size for your situation! Oh, my, what a delightful and appropriate menu! Perhaps a second bottle of wine might be in order????

Wahine--YIKES!!!!! What a nasty surprise! Have you considered a second opinion? It works in medicine, can't see where it can hurt in home maintenance. I don't blame you for not wanting to just give him a key. Do you have any friends who can stay in the house while you are gone so you can get it done sooner? Are you going to get a video of you skydiving? And THEY should work around you, not you around them. Remember whose paying the bill, ultimately.
Undy--slow and steady is a good approach for many things in life, and TE fills are probably one of them. Popping a stitch is a common occurrence. You didn't do anything to make that happen, it just happens. Moving a certain way, tension on the stitch in the wrong direction, stitch made too close to the edge of the skin, lots of variables apply there. I swear some stitches pop just because the person is breathing! Can't ask someone to not breathe for 14 days! More worrisome if your skin bleeds a lot, I know. (((undy))) Sneaky Undy, keeping Flash undy the bed!!!
.jpg)
Celine--Welcome! I know you've probably been in the lounge a while, but I'm just meeting you, so Welcome! That is one wild looking dwinky! Where's you find it? Where'd the recipe????? Ooh, nice eye candy by the pool, gonna have to go check him out!

DorKable--You got a keurig coffee pot? Good for you! They've got one a the office of the new job and I think it is soooo kewl! So much variety available! And it's ok if you don't' respond to ebberyone, the lounge crew has gotten larger over the years, so like any partay, you can only talk to a few people at a time. I for one do not take any offence if I'm not directly spoken to. I enjoy eavesdropping on everyone's conversations!

Undy--WOW, what an eye popper!
Chrissy--can you grab a pick of an almond tree in bloom? I'd love to see that! Cold nights are good for cuddling and sleeping--IF--the bed is warm enough!
Bernie--LOL!!!

Celine--the lounge keeps and ice machine or three just for us ladies!

Shannon - Tanks fer sharing...OMG...nice nice nice sssttrrrraaaannngggee stuff..mese likes it lots!! Speshally da tat guy...come to momma!!!
NM - I kno it's hard to believe...that's why I put it on my credit card (less interest). 1st time this happened was in LV at a clinic in 2007 I think. I'd done a bunch of tests for pre-op. Bill was like $1200, so I was sending in $200 ea month (u kno, good faith effort), 3 mos later it went to collection. I called and screamed my head off to no avail. Had to do the usual 'jump thru hoops' to get that removed from my credit report. Then at new hosp here in Mesq...same thing, at least they made no bones about telling me up front I had 90 days to get it paid off or it'd be turned over to collection. They are the ones that told me about 'loan at 18%'. Jeezzz!! Dat widdle guy sooo coot...'is Kold'...ahhh. OK...ready for dat DOTD...Thanks NM! Kno you will miss your co-workers, but glad you finally gonna be outta there...so happy for you!
Bernie - did dey enjoy all dat food last night??? j/k Love da widdle kiddie joke...too funny. Cept if I was momma, I'd beat his arse...after I hugged him!
Celine - don't be shy...grab some ice and hang out on SundayFunday!
Orla - my dat some kinda straannnggee snake n da grass...n dat hat...ya gotta save dat one.
Morning Chrissy n Juliet!!
O tay den....pool time! Later Ladies!

Dorkie, YEAH remember Flash from waaaaaay back? Not the same guy as snowjob boy...and wasn't Unde SMART to keep him "underwraps" (under HER wraps!). Hope you can get a bit of a break today, and relax by your pool with one of NM's yummy dwinks!!!
Unde, OMG, can I share that first guy too??? Brown Chicken, Brown Cow foah shuah!!! (Boom Chicky WowWow). You sure come up with some G8 eye candy!!!!!
Soooo funny Bernie....looking for the little girl....ha,ha,ha!!! How is your SIL, since you only have to be with her in small doses???
NM, YAY finally your last weekend on that job!!!! Sooooo glad you found your new one so quickly, and it does sound like a purrrrrfect fit. Awwwwww and so sweet about Sadie not wanting to leave your side. What a sweetheart! Still seems like yesterday when you lost your beloved furbaby and just knew you and your next furbaby would just find ea other. AND it did happen that way!!! I love how a new furbaby can fill up our heart with love....always room in our hearts for another furbaby to love. Sadie hit the jackpot when she found you, foah shuah!!!! And she has brought you so much joy and love, too. Ours are now 10+, and I dread the day we lose them. When we lost our "Max" (Max-Worth-a-Million, and he was my dog when I met DH), my DH did NOT want to get any other furbabies. He was so devastated at losing him. (Had lost my dalmation Shroeder a yr earlier). But within a month I found our Maverick and Molly (they were named Rabbit and Sally!) at the dog pound and they were so sweet and 2 yrs+ old....don't know how anyone could have left them there. SO now I think when we are grief-stricken again, he would realize we can find another furbaby to love. Geez, didn't mean to ramble on, was JUST gonna say how sweet it was that you and Sadie missed each other so much, and what a perfect match you have been, for each other!!!!
Yeah, Mema, I think they do it that way here too. Always ask how you are gonna pay, and if you WANT payments instead of paying in full when you leave, it gets put on a payment plan with interest.
OK, end of novel. Hope everyone has a SunDey FunDey. Gonna fill up at the Mimosa fountain, and try the Hot and Cold drinks, and the BIG BUFFET!!! OH, and the BIG guys, too, of course!!!
Hugssssssssssssssss,
Katwinka

Just a quick jump on this am before leaving for work (new job, yeah!). One hour left of call then done with work time on the old job, just got to turn in my gear, but got until the 16th for that. By the time Saturday gets here I'll have worked 14 days in a row, including the trip to Boston, so I'm feeling a bit tired, but it will be OK, I just know it will! If the humidity breaks it will be better, but I can't control that. OK, sounds like I'm babbling, better stop before I embarass myself. Hmmm, is that even possible here in the Lounge?????
Princess Glitter Sizzle's DOTD--whatever you want!!!!!
