ORLA--odd that you never heard from the them after the last interview. It's only polite to at least send a note saying the position has been filled. When businesses don't acknowledge applications and interviews it makes me wonder how they treat their employees. Be sure to keep the leaking no tittie spot as clean as possible to reduce the risk of infection. January seems like a long time away for the next surgery. It must be so hard to have to wait so long.
Mema--I hear you about the procrastination. I've got that problem, too. Holy Moly, your poor babies! How irresponsible to not have that dog on a leash. No matter how sweet and gentle your dog is, you have him/her UNDER CONTROL when visiting, especially if there are other dogs present, and most especially if there is a size difference between the dogs. That's just responsible dog ownership. I dote on my Sadie, but when I take her somewhere, or someone comes to visit she is under my control to prevent just that kind of thing from happening. So glad Kimmy finished rads and chemo! Yeah for her!
Camillegal--it's ok that you didn't pay attention much. Not everyone wants or needs to know every detail like I do, not everyone copes the same way with something like the rat ba$tard. That does NOT make you boring, it makes you Camillegal, unique and wonderful. You are a great addition to the HTL Loungette roster! So tells us a little about yourself--not that we are nosy or anything like that! And things get repeated here all the time. Between chemo brain, anesthesia brain, cancer treatment stress brain, menopause brain and dwinking brain we don't remember much and enjoy things over and over!
ORLA--I don't think the cold bothers the sharks much, I think they follow their food source as much as anything. "Warm" and "Cold" are relative terms when it comes to deep ocean water. I honestly think those guys have been around all the time, we're just getting better at seeing them, or seeing them more often as more people are out on the water playing. Not that closing the beach isn't a good idea, though! And now I've got to find a $5 bill and try to recreate that stack of pancakes!!!!
DorKable--ORLA's drainage may not be out of line, I don't remember for sure but I don't' think she had any drains in, and if she did leakage after the drain comes out isn't unusual. Depending on home much manipulation was done and how much mechanical irritation there was the body can produce that protective fluid for a long time. I had a drain for 6 weeks after mastectomy, and one drain for almost 3 months after the DIEP, and both leaked for a month afterward. The amount should be getting less, though as time goes by. I didn't get tot he lawn mowing yesterday. Sat in the hammock chair and played fetch with Sadie for most of the afternoon. Some of the lawn is very green from the recent rain, and getting overgrown again. Maybe today or tomorrow I'll get the mowing done. I really think next summer I'm going to hire that job out. The grass in Sadie's yard is still pretty burnt, but it also gets a lot of rough use.
