We walked soooo much today and it was windey and in the 30's...parents wanted to go with us, so they were really worn out. Went to this "Silk Market" which had 6 floors, and ea floor was huge with a gazillion stalls and everyone calling out to us to buy from them. I hate that, and only bought from the real true artists, and they were so quiet and polite! OH and one guy painted with the side of his thumb...stuck it in ink and made the most beautiful mountains and fields....it was awesome...took him a few seconds! I have to think about what I want,and if they want to yell or keep pushing things in my face, then I just leave. We are going to dinner soon, but don't have to go outside, as the huge inside upscale mall connects to our hotel.
OH I have a new "Tender" to add, but I don't have a picture of him (yet). This guy I hadn't seen before in our hotel was dressed so nice and maybe a mgr or something, I don't know. But he was so cute, and greeted us, so I had to talk to him...he is from Chile, and has perfect english, so I said I guess you speak Chinese too? And no, he is not good at it,but has only been here 5 months. He looked to be in his 20's.....after I left him, DH said "calm down, calm down" as he knew I thought the guy was good looking....LOL!
Love to you all, and I agree with all the others comments, that you are all the BEST and I am very thankful for you all. Will be glad to get back into our "free" country though!

Yippee, tonight is a "3 drink" night as I don't want to carry back any likker or coke! Of course, I will prolly drink some Chinese beer with dinner (can't drink the water), and plan on getting Chinese beer to have in our room tomorrow night. Even the chinese are told not to drink the water...wouldn't that be awful to live like that. I am glad we have safe drinking water in our country! And heck, if you have to buy bottled water, might as well buy beer instead!

Good morning, Loungettes! I'm watching crazy people on TV who were waiting in line for stores to open, and the silliness going on. Tim Hortons gave out gift cards and one person got a $750 card. Here in Maine the stores can't open until midnight, can't be open on the Holiday. I intend to sit here safely at home and not even go out to check the mail to avoid all the traffic and craziness!
Wahine--China, wow! Too bad about the memory card thing, but glad you've got the phone camera. Flip flops on the Great Wall? Somehow that sounds just about right! What happens to your toenails when you travel?? Thanks for the sympathy, and I'm ready to let it go now. Got other patients to take care of!
Goldie--Great cake for Beanie! Good job! Don't be too mad for me, I'm letting it go and moving on. A case like this one makes me appreciate my other families even more. So moove over, I want to get down and see the sights from under the bar stools! OOOHHH, CUTE!!!!!!

Mema--I am honored to have my DOTD at your bar. I hold in very high regard all the people in the world that take time out of the holidays to feed or otherwise tend to others. I know it sounds odd but it is a good thing to lose this particular patient, his suffering is now over. And I did have a wonderful day with my Mom and her partner. Even Sadie got lots of treats and attention!
Cammy--so sweet of you to say I'm special! I'm just doing what I know I can do well, I don't usually think of it as anything special.
CynCyn--Oh, my, I am so glad you will be ok. I'm sure you are uncomfortable or outright hurting, but glad you are still here to tell us about it. A wrist fracture that only needs a brace is a very, very lucky thing. Air bag and seat belt bruises are painful, but much, much better than the alternative. A totaled car can be replaced. I remember rolling and totaling my car a few years ago. Got seat belt bruise and it was very inconvenient having to find a new car, and I was scared to drive by the spot where it happened for a while. I know it's upsetting and frightening even when you know you will be ok, but you will heal and for that I am very, very grateful.
Wahine--I never thought about the state of the airplane toidy during a long flight. YUCK! On the rare occasion I fly I wear slipper socks left over from a hospitalization and slip on crocks. Easy to the shoes on and off, and I can leave them off in the plane, slip them on to go to the toidy. Again I say YUCK!
Rakul, this floor is a nice place to digest, isn't it? I've never had cornish hen, is it good? I'll have to try that someday.
DorKable--so your Dad noticed your level boobs? Good! And so nice to hear about having a pleasant visit with family. That's what the holidays are all about for me. I agree that waiting in line for stuff is crazy. I even saw an interview on TV with a couple of guys who camped out in a store line just for the fun of the camping out, they didn't even plan to shop! Bizarro! I miss doing the picture posts, too, but they take so much time that it isn't practicable any more. I'll still do them when I have the leisure, though!

With Old Forester bourbon, ginger ale, cola and a squeeze of lime, the Black Friday cocktail is not only easy to prepare, but it is the perfect ending after a long day of shopping.
- 1 1/2 oz Old Forester Bourbon Whiskey
- 1 oz ginger ale
- 2 oz cola
- Squeeze of lime
- Garnish with crushed lime wedge
In a highball glass, add first three ingredients. Squeeze lime wedge into glass and garnish with crushed lime wedge. Serve

sorry I am late Camille, mese was up half de night looking for good cyber deals. I bought a flat screen TV but that is it. I am not sure if you met Stella or not but if you would like to meet her, she would be happy to come and visit with you.
