Take time to be quiet. This is something that we don't do enough in this busy world of ours. We rush, rush, rush, and we are constantly listening to noise all around us. The human heart was meant for times of quiet, to peer deep within. It is when we do this that our hearts are set free to soar and take flight on the wings of our own dreams! Schedule some quiet "dream time" this week. No other people. No cell phone. No computer. Just you, a pad, a pen, and your thoughts. -Jim Rohn

Thanks ChiSandy for the reco.
And TwoHobbies for the info on TX. During that rather humiliating visit to my MO, I had meant to mention that while initially I could tell the my estrogen was being shut down by the drug (hot flashes etc..) recently, I have next to no hot flashes and don't feel as emotional as I did initially on it. Which is why I would love to know if it is working. That and the joint pain that is likely going to return.
Definitely going to go with a different doc and get some answers. Thanks for everyone's advice/info.

Genuine compassion is based on the recognition that others have the right to happiness just like yourself, and therefore even your enemy is a human being with the same wish for happiness as you, and the same right to happiness as you. A sense of concern developed on this basis is what we call compassion; it extends to everyone, irrespective of whether the person's attitude toward you is hostile or friendly. -the Dalai Lama

Kayla - I'm the sister ChiSandy talked about. I went to U of C for my second opinion and was blown away by Dr. Jaskowiak. She is the real deal. My lumpectomy is scheduled for Nov. 13th, so I won't get to know the oncologist until the pathology comes in, but if they are the caliber of Dr. J, they're incredible. Can't say so much about the temp nurse, been having some misinformation problems with her, but everything else at U of C seems to be spot on.

Jackie...how true that quote is!!!
Did you find shoes? I love that shoe store in Mount Vernon that is out by the junior college. I wear narrow shoes and they are hard to find. We have stopped there severral times when passing through and I often find some. Unfortunately it' too long a trip to come for shoes and then not have any there in my size! :-)
Hope everyone is enjoying this weather. I am actually going to play 9 holes of golf this aftrenoon!

A weed is but an unloved flower!
Ella Wheeler Wilcox,
Go dig, and prune, and guide, and wait,
Until it learns its high estate,
And glorifies some bower.
A weed is but an unloved flower!
All sin is virtue unevolved,
Release the angel from the clod —
Go love thy brother up to God.
Behold each problem solved.

The poem appeals to the gardener in me. Thanks!

Kayla, just catching up on the boards today and saw your post. Although I'm not a fan of additional scans, etc. I would recommend that you push for the additional testing in this case. I had annual mammograms starting in my 30s since I had a tendency for cysts, and my BC was never detected on any of them. I just happened to find a little bb-sized spot, went in for a mammo and it didn't show up then either - what appeared to be tiny turned out to be 6 cm and already in the nodes. After the fact, it was explained to me that I had dense breasts and the lobular cancer I had is very sneaky and hard to detect on mammo. My BS said it could have been growing for 8 years! So not to scare you at all, this would just be a good precaution to take to ensure you don't have anything lurking in the shadows. And in any event, this is your body and your life so you should continue to search for what you feel is the best plan for your own peace of mind.

Great quote Jackie--hard to implement, but worthy of working on......

The truth is that our finest moments are most likely to occur when we are feeling deeply uncomfortable, unhappy, or unfulfilled. For it is only in such moments, propelled by our discomfort, that we are likely to step out of our ruts and start searching for different ways or truer answers.
M. Scott Peck

If instead of a gem, or even a flower, we should cast the gift of a loving thought into a friend, that would be giving as the angels give.

The happiness which brings enduring worth to life is not
the superficial happiness that is dependent on circumstances.
It is the happiness and contentment that fills the soul even
in the midst of the most distressing circumstances and the
most bitter environment. It is the kind of happiness that grins
when things go wrong and smiles through the tears. The happiness
for which our souls ache is one undisturbed by success or failure,
one which will root deeply inside us and give inward relaxation,
peace, and contentment, no matter what the surface problems may be.
That kind of happiness stands in need of no outward stimulus.Billy Graham

DoingwhatIhavetodo: I just noticed your question about radiation. I had rads at Northwestern in August. My RO spent a lot of time answering my questions before treatment and was available throughout treatment as well. I felt like I was in good hands and would be happy to provide more info. If you're still looking for providers, feel free to PM me.

Chicago Resder, thank you very much for your reply. My MO , Bs and PS are through Nortwestern and I love them! I am going to go to Nortshore for radiation because I live in the northern suburbs and I can't go downtown every weekday for 6.5 weeks. I will start radiation the first of the new yearThank you for thinking of me.

What you put out comes back.
The more you sincerely appreciate
life from the heart, the more the
magnetic energy of appreciation
attracts fulfilling life experiences
to you, both personally and
professionally. Learning how to
appreciate more consistently
offers many benefits and
applications. Appreciation is an
easy heart frequency to activate
and it can help shift your
perspectives quickly. Learning how
to appreciate both pleasant and even
seemingly unpleasant experiences is
a key to increased fulfillment.Doc Childre and Sara Paddision

Yay! Mammogram was clear. Of course it's hard to believe it is definitive since I found the BC tumor between regularly scheduled mammos. In plain view. Still don't understand how it was missed. Oh well life goes on. Looks good now.

I am in Monticello and have been cancer free for 2 plus years but now experiencing period again been to Obgyn . Now tests and biopsy and waiting on results and answers . Doctor is looking at tamoxifen as culprit. Possible hysterectomy depending on results. Any input?
0 -
Valentinebambino sounds like it could be Tamoxifen (no uncommon) but it may or may not require hysterectomy. Wait till you get the test results.
