    Thank you! I just wanted and needed to get it out. I'm upset. You trust your oncologist AnD all doctors to be honest and tell you all and I feel that didn't happen. Everything seems to happen weird with me. At one point I had terrible joint pain. I thought " now what" it was awhile after treatment. When I went to Doc I said I thought it was the gabapetin, doc says oh no I don't think so. I was hurting pretty bad. I went back to my nurse practioner , she listened and has saved me many times. She ran tests and nothing came back at all. She told me to try black cohosh for hot flashes and that worked wonderfully. Then one day the joint pain stopped. I'm glad I found this site and can really check out medicines and side effects , cause I usually wind up with the rare ones! Because the doctors seem to blow them off. Will be waiting for results and looking into this site.

    Valentinebambino When it comes to side effects of meds I find the doctors don't know all of them. Best to talk to the pharmacist. I also have a great relationship with my Primary Care. When I found my oncologist didn't see the side effect I was having as an issue with the Exemestane (Aromasin) I went to my primary care. She agreed with me and we figured out what to do rather than sending me to another specialist (which is what my oncologist typically does). Don't get me wrong I like my oncologist but she isn't perfect. No one is.

    Only the wise person draws from life, and from every stage of it, its true savour, because only he or she feels the beauty, the dignity, and the value of life. The flowers of youth may fade, but the summer, the autumn, and even the winter of human existence, have their majestic grandeur, which the wise person recognizes and glorifies. -Amiel

    Valentinebambino, I think you are getting some very good directions here about how and who you might reach out to when you are having issues. I'm far enough out that I seldom don't say much, but I'm glad to read that others can share such good ideas with you.

    Valentine babinno, you didn't say how old you were, or if you had "chemopause instead of menopause.......so don't panic until its time to panic! That being said, I sill think my hysterectomy at 46 (fibroids) was the best thing I ever did for me.....so if you are older than I was, and you have fully informed yourself on what the organs do for you and feel you don't need them, go for it.

    Redheaded1 I was about 41 when started chemo amd went thru treatments I am 45 now. History of 40-45 early menopause in my family. Oncologist did test to see if in postmenapause and count was elevated , which incadicated I was postmenopausal. I took tomoxifin from time I was done with radiation till about 8 months ago , I am now on antrazole. Just wondering about how long others had been off tamoxifin before having issues? I would be fine with a hysterectomy , if that is what doc recommends, I'm over kids, and periods for sure!!

    It is the common, everyday blessings of our common everyday lives
    for which we should be particularly grateful.
    They are the things that fill our lives with comfort and our hearts with gladness --
    just the pure air to breathe and the strength to breath it;
    just warmth and shelter and home folks;
    just plain food that gives us strength; bright sunshine on a cold day;
    and a cool breeze when the day is warm.

    Studies of volunteers have shown there is a benefit to performing acts
    of love for other people. The irony is that it is actually in your best interest
    to be selfless. The things you do for the benefit of others not only
    make you feel fulfilled, they increase your chances of living a long and happy life.
    Remember that an act of love always benefits at least two people.

    Question after an edometrian biopsy how long do you spot/ bleed? Is it OK to use a tampon after? I also had an overgrowth of bacteria and was prescribed medicine that has to be orally injected by my PCP. Can I go ahead and use? Obgyn didn't say anything about either. I am still cramping and have more than spotting, not heavy bleeding but I work on my feet 10hours a day and move and walk a lot. I have procedure done on this past Friday!

    Did you take any time to rest and heal after the biopsy? I've had two before and the spotting didn't last more than a day. Maybe yours was more extensive and invasive? It might be wise to rest for a full day.

    I'd call your GYN about this and the use of the antibiotic, though I can't see why the antibiotic would be an issue. Maybe that is why she didn't respond about it.

    Spiritual energy brings compassion into the real world. With compassion,
    we see benevolently our own human condition and the condition
    of our fellow beings. We drop prejudice. We withhold judgment.

    She went in 3 times, hurt bad, horrid cramps after. It was done in office. The one I had a few years ago was done on outpatient ,same day surgery. I think she was determined to get it done. Don't know if I'd do it that way again without some pain meds at least. I don't think the lining has gotten any thicker since then either. I believe the spotting/ bleeding is done now. Doing antibiotic gel now for overgrowth of bacteria.

    Hi, Jacquelyn. Years ago, I had a uterine biopsy for adenomyosis. It hurt like hell, and I spotted and cramped for a day (at 45 I was not yet even perimenopausal). I was told to use only a pad the first day and if no signs of infection, a tampon was okay thereafter--but I didn’t bleed enough to need to switch to one.

    Valentino-don't use tampon until you check with them....Pad is better. You don't want to trap any bacteria and let it grow.....

    When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother
    would say to me, "Look for the helpers. You will always find people
    who are helping." To this day, especially in times of "disaster," I remember
    my mother's words and I am always comforted by realizing that there
    are still so many helpers--so many caring people in this world.

    Looks like this thread really is not active anymore. I have been telling my REACH FOR RECOVERY ladies that I talk to, to stop by and check it out. When I first came here I was shocked at how many people were dealing with the exact things I was. And that they all lived nearby. For those of you that read this, I was diagnosed in June of 2010. My biggest tip is to put one foot in front of the other and know that before you know it, you will be in another place and this will all be behind you.

    I am thinking we should have a Christmas Get Together. I am willing to have it at my house. (LOMBARD). Or back at Maggiano's in Schaumburg. Any interest???

    Love, Onward

    Onward I'm in. But it might be better to do it after New Years. People are so busy this time of year and I know my weekend schedule is nuts. Only weekend off I have (because they have to give me one as a supervisor during the holiday season) is December 11th-13th

    Willing to help out with planning. If we do it at your house we could do a pot luck. Everyone bring something.

    I’m in, too (even though I live on the far N. Side of the city)--as long as the weather permits. (Two years ago, en route from doing the closing matinee of the CBA Bar Show in the S. Loop, I had to miss performing on the WDCB Holiday Hoot because they closed the Ike at Harlem due to the first huge snow of the year). We’re getting anywhere from (dep. on which model you believe) an inch to 9” overnight this Fri. I have all-wheel drive now, though.

    Maggiano’s Oak Brook might be closer to you than Schaumburg.

    I’m out of the country Dec. 12-22.

    I'll try to come, depending on the date. I agree with lago, after the holidays is better.

    ChiSandy depending on where on the far north side we might be able to carpool. I live in Lincoln Park. If we go to Schaumburg it's right on the way. Or maybe you can come to my place and we'll leave from here

    In the rush of daily living it's easy to forget all the remarkable people, real or fictional, who have been a part of your life.But if you just imagine they are near for a moment, you will realize that anyone who ever touched your heart is always with you, patiently waiting to emanate warmth and support whenever you remember to think of them. -Barbara Sher

    How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young,
    compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving
    and tolerant of the weak and the strong.
    Because someday in life you will have been all of these.

    If all the gold in the world were melted down into a solid cube it would be about the size of an eight-room house. If a man got possession of all that gold--billions of dollars worth--he could not buy a friend, character, peace of mind, clear conscience, or a sense of eternity. -Charles F. Banning
