I lost my new reading glasses, last time i saw them i picked them up at sams club and they were in my cart....so...i hope you are right blackjack, i have hope to find them. That was April? Twice i asked sams club and they just sent me to lost and found, real caring, aren't they? And they offered no discount for re order!! I bought also, bifocals from costco and i still cant read the fine print on medicine bottles! And I would have sworn i asked for sun shade stuff on them, have to find the receipt. No sun protection either!!
Won't be posting much, my Uncle,88 has not eaten since Sunday breakfast and is not talking and probably had another stroke and it looks like ...well we called hospice and we have had 3 people come and the doctor tomorrow. Always knew this was coming, great for him, as it's not been a grand year for him...because he cannot express himself (has not sat up or walked since Oct 06-we use lifters)...rarely answers us sensibly..well anyway (also his caregiver of 3 years+ from Poland, had wanted to leave and we were having trouble replacing him), uncle was a plant pathologist (Africa, Mexico, Guatemala...specialized in tropical diseases) and he really has been through a long haul this past 10.5 years with us....not so great for us, as it's never easy to lose someone you love.
(and My brother in law from when i was married just died of cancer at 60, hard to take)
Take care and I read the emails from the forum every day so I don't get behind.
My throat culture no. 2 came out okay. ND wondered if it was a detoxing. hmmmmm she mentioned 3 possibilities, virus, detox or something else. it's gone now!
And my BC arm ...veins were hurting and there was puffiness/swelling, oncologist had me get wrist Xray! came out okay, it just mentioned some bone spurring. ouch!
Other than that got til dec till next mammo and ca 2729.
Hugs, Kater

Hi everyone. I have been reading posts but so tired lately i did not have the energy. My RB and WB count is low which may be the reason I have been tired, but I have no idea. I am off for tx 3 of TAC tomorrow. Whoo Hooo. The night before has not been gone as I have to take the steriods 2x a day and it usually keeps me up at night when I should be sleeping. Here is hoping that tomorrow is uneventful!
The Starved Rock pictures are great. It looks like you all were having fun. It is nice to see pictures of everyone although I have to say that by the time I read all of the posts, I feel like I should be taking notes!!
Carol, the mouse story is so funny! I am so glad that you shared it - it made me laugh out loud I can totally picture the scene which makes it so incredibly funny!
Take care and have a good day tomorrow!

MaryJane - Congrats! Woo-Hoo for you!
Julie - Good luck...hope your counts go up...hang in there.
kater - Sorry about your uncle...he had quite an interesting career and a long life. Glad your tests came back neg. Could the white spots be food pockets? They're also called Tonsiliths....
-----------------------------------------
OKAY, you asked...here we go:
DH went to the gastro doc because of a Hemmorhoid problem (). The doc prescribed a 2.5% hydrocortisone cream. DH sent the rx to our insurance/prescription company. They screwed up...he received a huge box...with 250 tubes of AnaMantle! LOL....almost $3000+ worth of it (thank goodness he only paid a $10 co pay)! LOL He asked them if they wanted it returned and they said they cannot accept prescriptions back once they've left their facility. SO...it's ANAMANTLE for EVERYONE! We use it on bug bites, rashes, sunburn...LOL I gave everyone in my family some too! We're all just a bunch of asse*! LOL
-------------------------------------------------
Have a great day!

OMG, Laura. That is so funny. A lifetime supply of hemorrhoid creams!
Kater, so sorry about your uncle. I agree with Laura, he had a wonderful career. It must be difficult for a man of his intelligence to be physically and mentally challenged.
We are doing Fourth of July this year. Have to get myself organized.

Hi gals! This week has been so busy that I haven't had much time to post. We're leaving tomorrow for Tennessee so it doesn't look like the pace is letting up any. I hope you all have a good holiday and take in some firewrorks somewhere. I can hardly wait to get my hands on those little grandsons again. :-) And Michele....it's such a shame, but we have to pass right through Metropolis to get there and so we got a room tomorrow night at the casino hotel.
Mary Jane...WONDERFUL NEWS!!! Now we can breathe again! Whew!
Laura...loved the story about the excess cream. You are indeed "loaded" now! :-)
Kater..so sorry about your Uncle. It is always hard to see our loved ones go through such rough times. Your good memories will get you through this tough time. Hang in there! HUGS!
Julie R...your day is quickly approaching. Try to enjoy the holiday if you can. Hugs to you!
Feeling any better, Becky? I sure hope so. When is your next treatment?
Welcome back, Connie. I'm a firm believer that "busy is good." Enjoy your holiday, too!
Smerf....sounds like you're getting to the end of the remodeling. Isn't it amazing how long it really takes? I got way too impatient during the process.
Jule..it's no wonder that you're tired if your counts are down. Are you taking the Neulasta shot after each treatment? I hope that treatment #3 goes well and that the side affects are absent or minimal. Hugs!
Karin, I also wish that you could have come to Starved Rock, too. I've never met you! One of these days............
Jackie...another week is done! You're getting there. Have fun with that extra day at home this week. Don't work too hard. The work will always wait for you. Is your skin still doing O.K. and how is your fatigue level?
Well, I'm off to get laundry done so we have clothes to take. Catch you all later.
Rita

Hi everyone!! Coming up for air to say how wonderful it was to lunch with the gals! Boy, I wish I could sit down with someone every week! You all keep me so grounded.
I have some other photos to share, but for now I thought I would put up some closer photos of the $$$$$ foobs!
Let me just say that they are not really worth it. They will fit exactly to my chest wall, but it's kind of a pain to get them in the right place, plus they seem "hard" compared to the normal S400.00 prosthesis I have. They were also cast with a very low cut bra, which was probably a mistake since the chest wall above them is still kind of flat and even concave in places. Finally, if you do wear them against your skin, they are sweaty. I will probably not wear them much. But I didn't pay anything extra for them, I only ordered them because I could last year and I was not sure if I might change my mind about going flat.
I would love to get together this month for lunch or Pizza. I can do most Mondays, Tuesdays for lunch, and Wednesday nights work well for dinner. Just let me know if that works for anyone??

Jan Clare, what a nice picture of your million dollar babies. I'm sort of shocked--don't know why. Well, yes I do. The only other time I saw someone's falsie it was just a bag of silicone pretty much--sorta a clear type color. Yours look almost like the real thing. A shame they are somewhat of a pain to wear. Maybe they will turn out like my wig. I tend to go w/o unless I'm going out in public and want to LOOK like I never had cancer.
Had a terrible night last night. I guess sooner or later that eating out will get you. I had some food poisoning I guess. Had terrible stomach cramps for about three and a half hours.....then thre up about four times, then a short time later Had diarrhea water about three times. Today, I feel pretty good so hopefully got rid of all of it last night--one way or the other.
Jule, now is the time to get some extra sleep. I took Nuepogen shots ( gave them to myself ) 5 days after all my treatments---8 in all, once evry three weeks. I still got tired but usually only for three or four days. I would nap a lot for about 3 days and then would catch up pretty much. I got into a habit though of being able to take a nap every day---except the days I was taking steroids. I don't think my counts were ever very low--no one ever said they were anyway.
We are having the 4th. at Ann and Jim's in town. They have a big house and room for all of us. They are friends of my sil who moved here after she did. Two other single ladies came as well as they had no real family in California so why not come to an area you can afford. After Denny and I moved here 11 years ago, the entire family left in California, 2 un-married brothers, one married, and one sil married chose to move here. So I have my own personal family since I was born and raised here along with all my married family except for one bil and wife in Salisbury, North Carolina.
Well, almost time to think about something for supper. A bit of a scary thought, but I'll get over it. Talk to you soon from home.
Jackie
p.s. Laura...the cream story is so funny. You'd have thought they would have called to check for any order that big---although I'm guessing chain pharmacies would order in that quanity. I'll have to remember this.

Rita - Have a safe and happy trip...I bet your little ones go running to your car when you pull in. Have fun....Thelma!
Susan - How fun! I just know that EVERY holiday now is extra special for you...not only because you're doing so well post bc treatment...but you have that adorable little one to spoil! Nothing like an all American Family Get Together on Independence Day! I wish my siblings and I were closer (or atleast had something in common)...I always dreamed about sharing my home with them on holidays as we got older...oh well...thank goodness I have my dh!
Jackie - Stay away from fast food! Sorry you felt so crapp*...good thing most of it, if not all of it is out of your system...chicken broth, rice, etc. for you missy! Okay...throw in a little dipping oil too! lol
JanC - OMG - you have a boob fetish! CRIPE!...maybe you should have them cast in bronze! Display them on a mantle...and you'd probably see them more often!
---------------------------------
OMG - A day without WENDY is like a day without sunshine...where's WENDREW!?!?!
------------------------------------
Hopefully...if THIS RAIN EVER FRICKIN stops...I will be able to race sometime soon! HELLO - winter is just around the corner! If I do get to race...I will let you all know when and where...who knows...you just may be able to stop in at the track!

Kater- Hugs to you during this difficult time.
Jackie-Hope you are feeling better soon.
Everyone else have a great day!

Hi ladies,
JulieR - your BF sounds like a super guy. Hang onto him!
Mich101 - no chocolate cake. Had to settle for a chocolate chip cookie!
Jackie - sorry you were sick. Yikes. Did you figure out what food caused it? Hope it wasn't that Mexican restaurant we saw by the hotel.
Rita - have a good time at your Dad's and with the grandkids.
JanClare - your boobs are definitely fancier than my one boob!
Kater - hang in there.
Laura - you can give us all a tube of cream as a party favor at your get-together in August. And you'd still have tons of it left!
Everyone else, have a great 4th! We're going to Daughter #1's for a cookout.

JanClare - love the foob pics!! You made me laugh after a rough day! thank you!
I went for my pre-surgical stuff today, and it just go so "real". Then, the nurse who interviewed me was kind of - no, actually - really an idiot, then got in an argument with the BF - and that was it Waterworks galore!
That stupid nurse asked if I smoked; I told her I quit 3 years ago but had one cig in a blue moon with drinks before my DX.
She said "you know smoking causes breast cancer!" I'm like "yeah I already have it, thanks". she also screwed up a few things - she just SUCKED. At the end she got all nice & hugged me - but, whatever. I did not like her one bit.
Oh yeah - and her opening line after seeing what my DX was: "well, when it's your time, it's your time.... ". Like I was walking the Green Mile or something. wtf???
I'm feeling better now that I'm here on the BC board. And every other person (doc, nurse, etc) has been wonderful - I hope that was my ONE bad enounter. (pray, pray, pray)
All of a sudden surgery is just a few days away & I feel like I have so much to do. So I'll keep myself busy, cry if I need to, and also squeeze in some fun. I have a feeling I will finally be wanting some of that Klonopin my doc gave me a few weeks ago, haha.
Hugs to you all - JulieR

JulieR sorry you have to get "wwn" (wicked witch nurse) It really makes it harder on you & EVERYONE around you!! As we have said before , some people just should not be in nursing!! hopefully your BF is understanding.... BIG {{{{{}}}} hugs to you!!!
We will all be with you through this whole thing! If not in person in spirit!
Get plenty of rest

Wow, Julie R. I am amazed that you could habe a nurse so insensitive. Smoking causes a lot of stuff but not breast cancer as far as I know. Even if it does, she had no right to speak to you in that way. I am actually feeling angry about her way with you. I do not know what Klonopin is, but if it makes things easier, take a few for me. And what is with the stupid comment about when it is your time, it is you time. Save the hugs, bitch.
I just rarely use vulgarities, but this woman should not be dealing with the public. Even the "hugging" part is sick.
Anyway, let's move on. Do you have a pint person on this forum....someone your BF can call and then let us know how you are doing. We are with you girl, 100% of the way.
I missed Wendy the Elder too today.

Morning Girls! I have ANTS!!! Yuck. I spent yesterday afternoon trying to rid my house of these critters. My nephew who lives about amile from me finally had to call Orkin for theirs. Yuck, yuck, yuck. So far....just in the tiled areas of the first floor.
MaryJane.....YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See...you need to listen to Mama Wendy...I told you it was a big, fat nothing!
Rita...you are already gone, but have a great time with those "babies"! And win big at the casino!
Julie....I am so sorry to hear about your BF's SIL. What type of tx are they going to try first? Monday is sure coming up fast and I know it will be nearly impossible...but try and relax this weekend. Maybe even stay off the computer? We would understand...you have all the info you need as you did such a good job researching and planning that you are good to go. If you don't check back in, HUGS! You will be OK. Mama Wendy says.....
Laura...how's PT going? I have learned so much in just 5 sessions. And boy was I surprised when I got your note. It took me a bit to remember about the money...but I only remember it as a couple of bucks. But thanks for the tip! And thanks too for the cream story! What were those people thinking! DH also had to try some cream for that anal fissure he had (he only got the one jar, tho) and it had nitroglycerin in it....boy, did we have some laughs and jokes over that! You know....we all need to make a pact..that if we ever run into each other with our significant others, the only thing maybe we ought to admit to knowing about the other's spouse/so is maybe their name and occupation! Boy....Tom would sure hate to know I have been once again talking about his butt on the internet.
Susan...did you find your glasses yet? don't laugh too hard but once I couldn't find my little "cheaters"....they were in the frig, next to the milk. And no...no idea.
Jan....OK...your new friends look very realistic but $7000? Wow. I do have a ? tho, if you don't mind a personal one??? Do you need a bra with them? Do they just kind of stick on? With adhesive or something? Since they went ahead with the areola/nipple area, I guess you can go braless? Guess that was more than one question, wasn't it? Inquiring minds need to know...
Blackjack....you must be feeling mucho better! You sound more like yourself. And have fun boating this weekend...looks to be a wonderful weather weekend for it! Be careful tho...lots of crazies on the road and the water!
Connie...you too have a great long weekend. Glad your vacay was fun! How are those bangs coming along? I actually trimmed mine a bit!
Jackie....hope your weekend is super! Must be so nice for you to be home for 3 days in a row! And you don't like watermelon? That is strange! Funny story that I heard for the first time last summer from my sister at a huge family gathering....I love watermelon, but the only time my Mom would bring it out after 12noon was after I went to bed, cuz I guess I always wet the bed if I ate it in the late afternoon/evening! Sooooo nice of my sister to tell that little story!
SIL in Florida was cardioverted with success on Tuesday. They are keeping her in the hosp. until the coumadin kicks in and her blood is thinner ( to prevent clots). Her mitral valve is leaking, but not enuf to warrant surgery right now...they want to get her a. fib under total control. Since the cardioversion worked for that...I guess maybe they want to make sure it holds. DH had that and it only worked for 11 days and she told the drs that so maybe that's why. Hopefully she will go home today.
Everyone else....hope you are all doing well, and feeling as good as can be with where you are in whatever treatment you are having. I'll check back later..if the ants don't carry off my laptop!

Good Morning Girls...
Well the weekend is almost here...and let the fun begin...
Rita..have a safe and wonderful trip to see your grandsons. Hope the weather is good for you so you can tops down fists up for you.
Jackie..food poisoning can be very serious. You can get dehydrated very quickly. so take sips of 7up with crackers and then do the brat diet..rice, applesauce, bananas. We all worry about you so please get well soon. I had really bad food poisoning last year from under cook chicken and was in the hospital for 2 days. So do take this seriously. Get well Hugs to you.
Bustersmom...I am so sorry to hear about your horrible experience with that nurse. That is uncalled for !! I would write a letter to the hospital administration and let them know about this person's behavior. I had a similar experience last year with a nurse during rads and she was very unprofessional towards me. We are going through emtional times and need caring people around us..please let your md know about this person. Sending you a healing hug your way.
Laura..hope you get to race this weekend...nice weather is on the way. How is the pt going.
Kater..sorry to hear about your uncle. I know it is hard on us to watch our love one's suffer..But remember that they had a good life and the wonderful memories you have of them will always be with you. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.
Wendy..hope all is well with you. Our you on vacation...how is your back doing
Zap..how you have a great holiday with your family.
Janclare..I love the boobs. They are so real looking..can't wait to feel them lol Do bring them to the lunch bunch ok
Karin..how are you. Hope all is well by you. My fish are very active and I have a few more new one's that popped up. They are so cute. I hope you have a great holiday with your family.
Connie..have a great weekend up north.. I am going boating this weekend..yeah. Are you too. Have fun with your kids.
Maryjane..have a great weekend with your daughter.
Jule..hope you are feeling better soon. Remember to rest and drink fluids. Sending healing hugs your way.
Leesa.. how are you..remember to ck in with me.
Smerf...how are you..are you having a day off this week from remodeling. I hope so.. I am sure it will look beautiful when it is all done.
To everyone else I missed I hope you all have a great holiday weekend with family and freinds.

Have a great holiday and remember to be healthy..be happy. will ck back later

Julie R - I am so sorry you had such an insensitive nurse. There is absolutely no excuse for her being like that. She probably realized it and tried to cover up with the hugs, but goodness.....she has no clue. Hopefully this is your one and only idiot to deal with. (Mine was my anesthesiologist, but that's another story......) I will be thinking about you on Monday.
Wendy, we have had ants everywhere! I have sprayed, cleaned, called the Orkin man. There are fewer now, but they are still here. The only thing we can figure out is we put new mulch right up against the house and maybe they were in that. Gads. DH had a wrapped peppermint on his dresser (the kind you pick up as you are leaving a restaurant) and they totally covered it. Aargh. I hope your SIL is doing better. What is a cardiovert?
Blackjack and Connie - hope you get out in your boats this weekend. We have yet to put ours in the water, except when we took it to the lake over Memorial Day and put it on the lift.
Leesa - how are you doing?
Have to get to work. Everyone, have a good day!

Jackie - have a great "vacation" at home! No place like it!

OK...see I missed some posts there...
Julie...I agree! She was a bitch! "When it's your time, it's your time"? WTF indeed! When you have some time to get your thoughts together she really does not to be reported. THIS CAN NOT HAPPEN TO ANOTHER GIRL!!!!!! Just sucks! I am actually fuming right now. He**...give Blackjack, Pat and I her name and we will pay her a little visit...give her some retraining!!!!
MaryJane...ants in MULCH???? I had a ton of it spread out all around the house and deck about 2 weeks ago! I am going to get that stuff I saw on TV..."Home Defense" I think it was called....
Cardioversion is when they put you out and shock your heart with the paddles....it's to restore a normal rhythm. There are also drugs that will do this but most of the time they just (JUST???) do this. Sounds awful, but then so does having an irregular heart beat of 160+!
Jackie....OMG! You poor thing! How's the tummy today?

Ok Julie, I won't say anything because everyone else has been so eloquent about it. But I find it so discouraging that there seem to be so many in the nursing profession that have no clue how to be sympathetic to a patients' needs. Probably any patient. I was a medical corpsman in the service and worked in the medical field after.......I looked as those I helped as a brother, mother, uncle or whatever. Meant that I was sympathetic with a very hopeful attitude---trying to keep everything I said as positive as possible while not minimizing the situation unrealistically. It was never easy but I found it rewarding because just like my cancer, once I see and know what the enemy is I'm going full tilt to take care of it. That means looking it square in the eye w/o a blink.
All the girls gave you great advice. Now then, I will have to take some of Blackjacks. I know I need a bland diet--something I won't get here so I nibbled just enough to keep the hunger pangs under control, did have some soda and crackers and rice--was brown, from the V.A., but was closer than anything else they had to offer. Will eat that rest of today and most of tomorrow. Then, sm amts. of whatever is served for the 4th. dinner. . Then we will see. I so think I was lucky and got rid of everything, mainly from the diarrhea after which has never happened before I don't think........and I did upchuck four times ( yucko ) but each time I felt a little better. Don't know why, but seemed mainly to be the spaghetti from Steak and Shake coming up. That learn me, dern me.
Just a thought--may be goofy, but for everyone with the ant problems, I've heard that sometimes they come in to get out of the rain when there is too much. I didn't think your mulch would come with ants in it, but I guess you could cover up an ant colony to the point of their moving. Hope you do get it under control--no fun. I don't want anything in the house that normally lives outside.
Wendy, I'm with you about anything said about the Dh's and we will all keep the smirky looks off our faces should we ever meet. My bottom line is---how bad can THEY really be--they are with us,aren't they??? Got to be much more civilized by now.
Better get off of here in case someone else needs this. I'll be back later on my own computer at home to wish you all a gret holiday.
Jackie

Thanks everyone for supporting me - and for making me laugh too!!! believe me, I wanted to call her every name in the book here, but didn't want to offend anyone - so now I can just do & it say WHAT A ROYAL BEEEEEEYATCH!!!!!!!
Ahhhhh that felt good.
I'm going to call the Breast Cancer Health coordinator & report it to her. She will NOT take it lightly.
Just trying to get laundry & cleaning done - having a friend & her man over for dinner at 5:30, should be fun.
Oh - my BF will call Blackjack on Monday evening... surgery/recovery should be all done by 5:30 or 6:00pm, so it may not be until later on. I gave him the number, so hopefully he remembers all of his duties that night
Hugs everyone & have a wonderful 4th. I'll be sure to check in over the weekend. Love & hugs to all of you!!!! JulieR

Yikes! Isn't watermelon a tradition for the 4th of July? Does this mean that the men of America will all be "fired up, and ready to go?" We'll have to keep them busy at the grill all day.
Jackie...Hope your tummy problems are all gone, and you can enjoy the holiday back at home. I'm sure Denny and all your furry friends are so glad to see you!
Wendy...I'm so sorry about your SIL. Hope the cardiovert lasts, and all is well.
I had an ant infestation in my kitchen this May. They said to resist killing them, and put out poison bait traps. They will carry the poison back to the nest, and that will kill the queen. I think it worked, because they are gone now, but it took about a month. I hate killing critters, but you have to draw the line when they move in!
My remodeling job is close to finished, and today I have the painters. The job has expanded to several rooms that need patching and painting of ceilings. There are men all over the place, and I think it will be about a three day job.
Hope you all have a wonderful holiday!

Julie...I think your plan is excellent. You should report your experience to the Breast Health coordinator. That person will know best how to address the problem, and prevent it being repeated. They also can use it in their future staff training. This way you are turning a negative into a positive, and taking control for yourself. Good all the way around. We control freaks have to stick together!
Your bf sounds like a wonderful guy, and I'm so glad he will be with you Monday. Also, all the others you have in your corner. Quite a posse, girl! I'll be there too, in spirit, as will the rest of our group.
Hugs to you today, and enjoy your evening. It sounds like a nice plan.

Julie,
Just a FYI..about your bitchy nurse. I wrote a full page no.. multiple page letter to the head of the Cancer center, md and administration about my horrible experience. I know you are going through a rough time now but please write it down so you don't forget. These nurses have no compassion for us bc girls..and this should not be tolerated by us. This person needs a beating... Nurse's in general are caring people that's why we went into this profession. This is really uncalled for.
Ok I feel better..must have been PTSS when you posted your horrible experience there.
Remember we are here for you in body and spirit..sending healing hugs your way for a stress free weekend. Sorry to go on a soap box rant.

I hope everyone is getting ready for a wonderful holiday!
Bustersmom, I know it's not easy but try to relax and have a fun weekend, Try a "Blackjack special" ( Cosmos on the beach)
Blackjack, I think my fish are part rabbit!!! My pond is only 1000 gal and they are getting crowded! Might have to get rid of a few!! Hope you can enjoy a cosmo (or two) this weekend!.
Oops work is calling
will check back later

Hi all:
Wendy, have you heard of this place called "Relax the Back" or something like that? We have one near me and they have all this stuff designed for people with back issues.
Okay, you all helped me uncover a mystery here about my cat and her periods of sickness. WE TOO HAVE ANTS! DH sprayed outside, around the rim of the house; but they are coming into the house. I have to vacuum them up each morning (gross). We now think that she, being a cat, is attracted to these wretched ants and even consuming one here or there and may be sick because of the food chain issues. I found her sitting amidst all these half-dying ants. So I think, girls, we are on to something. Actually, I am now wondering why he sprayed outside in the first place.
Jackie, home again! Have a happy day b with Denny.
To all the ladies who responded to Julie R's bad nurse story. There are always some bad apples. I am a teacher and I can tell you for sure that there are a few teachers who are bored, mean, or just sick, and should leave the profession. Tenure is a problem in that so many linger on. Yet most teachers, like most nurses, are good, caring, and most importantly....professional...in their dealing with their students/patients. I know the nurses on this thread would acknowldge that and I also know that the teachers would as well. I agree that you should follow up....just give it some time. Write it down and follow up when you have some distance from it.

(I'm sorry to bring this up again. I'm sure this group has discussed this before but at that time I guess I didn't pay much attention because it did not pertain to me, so I apologize for asking repeat info.) I recently asked my onc. to review my surg. path report, which did not show any hormone receptor info, if I am for sure er-pr-, which was decided from my original biopsy results. Well, he had a block tested from my surgery (from 12/06) and it appears that I am more ER+ than originally thought. I am scheduled to discuss my options (tamoxofin, etc) next week. For those that are on tamoxifen, what kind of side effects have you experienced?
Had I not brought this up, it would not even have been further discussed. There could be add'l tx available for me that were not given to me as an option
We really have to look out for ourselves!!!!!!

Hi all............A long day for me today. Ray who lives a couple blocks from us was going to pick me up today but got a bacterial infection and could not come. Denny was working til 4 p.m. in Mt. Vernon so he came instead. I had to wait at the motel in the conference room for him ( it was not in use but had a bed and private bathroom so the motel owner gave it to me graciously ) from about noon on. I did get a lot of reading done though so it was fine.....and wouldn't you know that when Denny finally showed up I got to one of those points in the book where you definitely want to keep on reading. Oh well. !!!!!
There are bad apples everywhere aren't there??? The one cab driver and I talk a lot together. She is the daughter-in-law of the owner. She told me ( and believe me for some idiotic reason I assumed this wasn't possible ) about what this one female driver ( for some reason I think all the drivers are female ) does to steal money from the company. It is only small amts. so far and not enough to do much about so they have let it go for now. Think I'd find some way to let her know that they MAY be on to her so she would think twice if she values her job. Makes me think I'm still a bit more naive' than I thought........or maybe not so much naive' as just always hoping that people are better---but like Susan said...no matter what field you are in there is always someone turning over the apple cart.
It has been pouring rain here but fortunately our lights are still going strong. It may be a really wet 4th. this yr. It was last year. Rained out a lot of parties. Many out here in the country go to Indiana and come back with lots of fireworks to display later. Gets a bit noisy out here on the 4th.
Wendy asked how the tummy was and it's better. Still feel-able--like someone jumped up and down on it, but otherwise not at all bad. Don't know if I mentioned but I called V.A. emergency since I knew I was coming home and they thought it could be ( the red flecks etc. ) an interior hemorrhoid. Whatever....I just know that all the throwing up -- up top --- and then all that came out the other direction made for a lot of intestinal irritation. I expect to feel something for two or three days....and then Ms. Cast Iron normally should be back in fine fiddle.
Well, its great to be home and on my own computer. I'll talk to ya'll tomorrow or at least try to find a couple good quotes.
I'm going to make grape salad ( double yum ) to take to Ann & Jim's. It's delish.
