i would give you my user name but i forgot my password!!!
let me look what doctor put in for mine...
    chemo regimen third generation regimen
then you need to plug in estrogen recepter status,
grade:, tumor size and nodes involved. go ahead, just make up a user name and password. Wendy told me how to get there and so forth.

I REALLY hate all the abbreviations. we aren't guys, we can type...can you write things out?
dh is that designaTED HITTER or divorced hippy? I dont think it's very nice to chemo brained people to keep using these abbreviations...it's hard enough finding the forums and listservs....

Too funny. DH is for darling (or dear) husband. You can use the D for other people too - DD is darling daughter, DS is darling son. I picked it up on a Disney forum I used to frequent when planning a Disney trip. I didn't know what it meant at first either!

Stopping by to say hello! Hope everyone is having a good day. I had to go to Evanston Hospital again, so I went for a walk by Lake Michigan - Gillison Park. It was so weird because I saw a fog roll in from the lake. Then when I got about 15 miles west of the Lake the sun came out. No rain here in DuPage County. My poor flowers are thirsty.

Laura: Well shott and darn it anyways. Yes Im going Friday night. Have to celebrate Johns birthday. So hoping you and some others can come.

Just remember Irish Mill is a pub - its a drinking not eating place!!

Hope everyone has a great evening

Morning Ladies....and a beautiful morning it is!

    Mary...congrats on your anniversary...HUGS!!!!
Nicki...keep up the good work, see you are doing a lot of walking...best exercise, you know!
Kate...glad to see you on the boards!
Rite...thought you were only in 3rd week, but sooo glad so far you are doing great. Where did you get that cream...was it biafene? I know it wasn't the mouthwash biotene but heck if that would work, why not???
Connie...I'm a nurse and I was a little apprehensive about logging in to adjuvantonline but heck...were the computer police going to jump out of the screen and arrest me? I'm Her2+ so it didn't help me much in the end anyway but it's a great tool, isn't it?
JanClare....good luck with starting rads next week. Do they keep all those marks on you or is the purpose to line you up perfectly, do the tats, then let them fade away? Otherwise, why do the tats in the first place???

Had my last chemo yesterday...only side effects I'm had were that I have become follicularly challenged, taste changes for 10 days each cycle and just now ankle and hand swelling but not too bad so my TCH was pretty OK. 5/22 I go first for my 2nd 2Decho to check on EF/herceptin problems, then at 10 my rads sim.

Well...off to exercise then back for my neulasta then with all the steroids back in my system I think I'll cut the grass for fun!

Have a wonderful, happy day everyone!

    Hugs...Wendy K

    Mary,
Hi, I'm Lisa and I hang out in the circle girls and reconstruction boards mostly so I don't think we have met.I wanted to let you know,I live 40 miles north of Chattanooga in Dayton. If you haven't heard of it,the Scopes trial was held here.We are having our Strawberry festival right now and Saturday is the parade at 1:00.It runs through downtown and on the courthouse lawn there is food galore(especially strawberry shortcake) and vendors from all over selling tons of crafts and all kinds of things. There is also a carnival that has been here all week and it opens up after the parade.I wanted to invite you and your family to come and join the fun.If you are not familiar with the area,I can meet you in Chattanooga.Let me know if you are interested.Have a nice day.

    Hi gals!
JanClare...good luck next week with your rads. I'm sure you'll find them "a piece of cake" compared to the chemo.

Connie... What day of the week is your chemo and how is the hair situation doing?

Pam...I know what you mean about being tired of docotrs. I second that!!!! I am envious your boat. When my son was young we did a lot of boating on the Mississippi. I guess we went so often that we got burnt out and finally sold the boat. I was also raised on the Rock River so I miss boating and water activities.

Nicki.... Hope you are still shedding pounds. So much for that pound that I lost. I gained it back yesterday. It was the last night for our youth group until next Fall and they had "make your own sundae" night. Needless to say, the tempatation was too great for me.

Lisa...Nicki is right. There are lots of women who have chemo before surgery. I didn't know that until I got on this site. It's actually pretty common now. The sentinel node biopsy will determine the number of lymph nodes that are involved and hopefully there will be none!

Kathy...So do you and your hubby go to the Argossy in Joliet? We never really plan ahead to go but I'm always up for the boat. Maybe we could figure out a time convenient for both of us and meet for their buffet and some winnings!

Wendy K...CONGRATS ON YOUR LAST CHEMO!!! That cream is called Biafine and the radiologist gave it to me.

Michelle...How'd your first T/Herc treatment go?

Laura... hope you get a group together to meet for some fun tomorrow night. Sure wish I was closer.

Well, gotta go...I have my last class at the Museum tonight for this session and still have a few things to get ready.

    Have a great day, ladies.

    Rita -

I go on Thursdays - so I was there this morning. All went fine except this week my hemoglobin was low. So, I had to get a shot of Aranesp(sp?). Boy, did it burn. Hopefully that will do the trick though.

I still have hair but not for long. Today was the worst day yet as far as shedding. I am honestly sure that if I tried I could pull it all out on my own. My appt is at 4 today for a shave and wig fitting. When I went to bed last night I was thinking maybe I could eek a few more days out of it to make it to Mother's Day, but not after what I saw this morning. I have a nice little bald spot in the front and I'm sure I could make more if I tried.

Hope everyone else is doing well today.

    Hi All!

Well I just wanted to let you know I finished my last chemo yesterday (6 doses of AC every 2 weeks)!!! I am so excited! I will probably start on tamoxifin next month.
(Wendy K - looks like we have more than a name in common!)
I will still be checking in here often and thinking and praying for all of you!

What do you ladies think about trying to select a summer date for a meeting before we all have lots of commitments on our calendars. We can always decide where we will meet later once we have the time decided. Do you think it might help if each of us lists the weekend days that are definitely "NO GO's" and then work from there? Or does anybody have a better way of doing this?

    Suggestions please!~

Hi all- popping in, but I haven't read all the posts the last few days. Wasn't feeling too well, plus had to work.

About the get together- How about June 23 or June 30th? I don't want to wait until August, and I can't do any Saturdays in July. (I work on Sundays)

Rita, the Aromasin initially made me very sick and couldn't keep anything down. I take Phenegran with it now and it took care of it. Other than that, It makes me tired and have lost my appetite. One good thing...the hair on my legs has almost stopped growing...LOL. Hope it leaves my head hair alone tho.

Just saying hello to everyone. Trying to catch up on all of your posts.

Mary: How in the wold did I miss your 4th anniversary. Well I know how - didnt have any computer time. Im hoping these anniversaries get better as time goes on. My second anniversary was pretty hard for some odd reason. Anyways a big congratulations to you.

Laura: Your pictures are so cute!

Hello to everyone else and big hugs to those of you going through chemo right now. I think chemo was the hardest thing I ever had to do in my lifetime. Last year I was pretty bald, just fuzzies coming out. This year Im driving with my sunroof down and all the windows open. Its nice to feel my hair blowing in the wind!

OK - gotta go. Hoping I will catch up with you all over the week-end.

    Lisa,
Thank you so much for the offer. Dayton seems to be a bit out of our way, we'll be driving down 24.
Our plans won't be getting us into Chattanooga until about 5pm on Saturday. Sunday & Monday we going to do 'touristy' stuff with our granddaughter's.

Thank you for thinking of me and the kind offer.

    Laura - cute pics!

Well, I got shaved yesterday. It wasn't as bad as I thought but I think that was because I was so sick of the shedding - it was getting pretty bad. My wig is sooo cute, I love it and DH couldn't believe how nice it looked. He was thinking I was going to come home in one of those bad looking toupees!! I also got some scarves to wear around the house. My kids were better than I thought they would be. They were really interested to see my bald head. My 6yo thought it was fun, but the 9yo thought I looked really weird and seemed a bit upset.

Hope everyone has a great day!!!

    Hi,
I just noticed that you are an Illinois ILC just like me. I am finished with my treatments and just taking Tamoxifen now. I was dx in October 06. When did you find yours? I hope your treatments go well and you are feeling as good as I am soon.
    Take care,
    Nancy

Wish me luck...I really need some!...I registered for the 39 mile Avon walk on June 2! Yikes...am I out of my mind? YES! But on the other hand, I'm really excited! I'll be walking and sharing a tent with JayBird, Janis - who I've met here and in person. But, in order to walk, I have to raise $1800 in two weeks! Hopefully my friends and family will come through for me, but if not, I will go to some businesses in the area and hit 'em up! LOL Please say a prayer that it doesn't rain that weekend! That would be awful! If any of you want to join us...lemme know!

    JanClare -
Why don't you create a poll - for both dates...if you need help doing it let me know, but I'm sure you can figure it out!

    Have a great Friday!

Laura You are a brave girl, 39 miles that's the 2-day walk right? Love the picture of you and your DH. Thanks for the link to stock photo, I'll have to check that out.

Nicki Thanks for the cute kitty Congrats.

JanClare The idea for a poll that Laura had sounds like a good idea.

Just checking in -my 1st Taxol/Herceptin was last Tuesday. Was thankfully uneventful, but long (4 hours). I will go every Tuesday for the next 11 weeks, and these won't be as long as the first treatment. Other than fatigue, no other SE so far.:)

    Enjoy the sunshine-

    Hi gals...

Hope all of you are getting ready to enjoy a nice weekend. Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers!

I finished my third week of rads today and saw the radiologist. He thought I was doing pretty good. My skin is holding up pretty well. I have some little tiny red dots on the radiated area and it's beginning to get a little brown in color.

In a little bit I'm going to head for the golf course and for four hours I'm going to forget about breast cancer, the many decisions I need to make and the inability I have right now to make them, and the fact that this will be the first Mother's Day in nearly 60 years that I won't have a mother to share it with....also the fact that the usual bubbly me has been having a pity party today. Gads I hate these mood swings. Golfing is the answer!

I think the survey on the two meeting dates is a great idea, Laura. Thanks also, Laura for sharing your pictures. You're right. What a difference a year can make! Those pictures are such a good reminder to all of us.

I talked with Ginny last night and really feel guilty that I hadn't called her sooner. She has been having bone problems with the Taxol. I hope she pops back on and posts again when she feels like it.

Well ladies, I will catch you all later. Glad that so many of you are handling the treatments well. Every week gets us closer to the finish line...and speaking of the finish line....Laura, I walk 3 miles every day and there's no way I'd tackle that 39 mile walk! Wow! I'm in awe!!!

    Hi Nancy -

I found mine in Dec 06 and was dx's in the beg on March 07. Had a left breast mast with recon and started my chemo on April 20th. I am doing pretty good but can't wait for this to be over.

Pretty weird how ILC is not supposed to be so common, but we have 5 in IL on this website!

    Hi,

I am newly diagnosed with IBC Stage III. I had my first round of A/C last Friday. The plan for me is AC every 2 weeks x4, then herceptin/taxol every 2 weeks x4. Rest MRM, rads, then herceptin for 1 year. I am 50 and live just south of Chicago. Peggy

    Hi Peggy,
I, too, have IBC. I was diagnosed Oct.06, so I am a little ahead of you in the process. You are slated for herceptin, so I assume you are HER2+....so am I. I have finally arrived at my herceptin only stage. I begin radiation next week. This is a fairly rare form of breast cancer, so I would be happy to answer any questions you may have about the treatment or anything else that I may know. Just know that the treatments, while not pleasant, are manageable. There are so many ways the doctors can help you to manage any side effects.

I guess I better check in since it's been awhile and Rita called so I felt I better.
I had my 7th chemo today. I thought the taxol would be easier than A/C...hahaha. I get my tx on Firday and by Sunday afternoon I am in bad pain in my joints, bones and ligaments. I have to take 2 vicadon every 6 hours and I still have some pain. The last tx I went to work on MOnday
but left early cuz of the bone pain. I still didn't feel good on tuesday so called in. Wendsday went to work. Thursday I had a bad sore throat and was in slow motion and called in. Friday, I felt so much better. I had to work Saturday so I went in. Just wondering what my week will be like. On Thursday, I went to by regular doctor for a pro-time test(checks my blood clotting times). Well it was 4.9(which is bad)..It means my blood is too thin. I had it checked again today and still the same. I have to go back on Monday for another check. In the mean time I have to watch what I do. No shaving, using any type of cutting things, no playing football or things of that nature. I can't get bruised. Such a pain in the butt.
Anyways, thats my update. I am looking forward to being done with chemo and move on to radiation.
I am looking forward to meeting up with you all. June sounds like a good month and we should get the date soon since it's next month...

Good Morning Everyone! The weekend is here and Im not computer deprived. Im loving every minute of it.

Laura: Your pictures are adorable and your hair looks great.

Connie: I shaved my head. First I got it buzzed and when everything fell out except these wild hairs sticking up everywhere, I just shaved it off. When I was bald, I couldnt remember what I looked like with hair. Now that my hair has grown back, I cant remember what I looked like bald. Good luck to you.

Michelle: Sounds like your in your chemo countdown. Glad the first one went well and hoping it goes fast for you.

Peggy: I had dose dense chemo. A/C every 2 weeks x4 rounds then taxotere with herceptin every 2 weeks x4. It was hard, but I did it. Good luck with your treatments.

Hope everyone has a great week-end. Time for me to go and do a brisk walk. I need to burn the calories I took in from having wine yesterday.
