Marilyn - So sorry! It must be so frustrating. Hang in there.

Victoria - Look forward to seeing you at the walk! Glad all is well with your career.

lago - Your roses are beautiful! dh is a sweetie! Best wishes at your Onc appt. I too was way more afraid of the Onc visit than ALL of my surgeries! Take a deep breath when you walk in his office - in fact a Xanax works even better!

Connie - Glad your levels are up. Just a suggestion...you should consider 6,000 iu's per day. The brand Usana has a very good reputation at selling high quality vitamins (no fillers/etc.) Looking forward to seeing you at the walk. And thanks so much for the donation at our team page! WOW!

Donna - Good luck with the sub job. Can't wait to see you at the walk! Long time no see, girl! Thanks so much for your fund raising efforts - you did good, WOW! Hugs to Liberty!

Carolyn - How are you feeling?

    --------------------------------------------------------

@ EVERYONE - Hi there! I have been busy with my photo job. Shot sports teams all weekend and this afternoon. The shoot today was outside in a football field...WOW...was it hot! I start teaching a new art class on Wednesday. Although it's JUST 1.5 hours each Wednesday for 4 weeks. Better than nothing. And, if nothing else, it keeps me busy. dh has a temp consultant job from home. He is feeling much better - in fact we have been bike riding together AND still going to the Y together.

I miss you girls - we NEED to plan a dinner bunch! And a mini-lunch bunch for the far North girls!

    Hugs to everyone in treatment/recovery!

    ------------------------------------------------------

I am reeeeeeeeeeeeeeally tired...gotta get in the tub, in the jammies and in the bed! lol

We have been created for greater things, not just to be a number in the world, not just to go for diplomas and degrees, this work and that work. We have been created in order to love and to be loved.

Happy  Belated Birthday, Jackie.  I had such good intentions of getting on the thread yesterday morning and sending you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY shout but I was rushing out of the house to get to Bartonville to meet Mary Jane and another friend for a shopping trip to the Quad Cities. (Then I was still late because I ran into an unexpected detour!  Yuck!)  I didn't make it home until nearly 11:00 at night and just crashed......so ......I hope you had a wonderful day because you certainly deserve it!  You are so special and add so much to this thread!   Hugs to you!

Adey I hear you. I'm still recovering from surgery. Now I need to hear about more crap to F me up. Can't we at least wait till my arms and pits don't hurt anymore?

Funny yesterday I think I put on deodorant. So hard to tell when you can't feel anything. Maybe I need to use the spray stuff.

BTW did anyone skip a period after surgery? I'm late and the last 2 times before surgery I was early. I'm thinking surgery caused this or maybe I really am past the peri and have entered full blown menopause. I have had some unexplained mood swings and woke up last night drenched in sweat. I just assumed I was hot/too many blankets.

Work today for the first of theschool season. My main issue for me is feeling body weakness when i do too much and want to ease in to everthing this school season. classes are larger and it is goin to be a bit more challenging.

Had my OB/GYN appt. Having a ultra sound on ovaries and may consider them being removed down the road as my BRC~A 1 is a possible mutation.

Be well all and good thoughts for all those in TX, appts or tests!!!

    Hugs,

Met with the oncologist yesterday. 6 rounds of Taxolotere(or Taxol bit confused but I probably not taxol), Carbopatin, Herceptin (every 3 weeks) then Herceptin every three weeks to finish out the year. I will be on anastrozole for 5 years since she feels I will be tossed into menopause and at my age I won't be going back. (Actually I'm pretty sure I just started full blown menopause 2 months ago. Woke up totally drenched yesterday. Emotions have been wacky all summer. Period is now 6 days late).

I won't be starting chemo till my PS says I'm OK.

Radiation is still a question occording to my oncologist. Since it's not her call I will need to make an appointment with the radiation oncologist. I have a feeling I might be able to pass on radiation.

My real issue is I'm so swollen/fluid filled. Even the oncologist said my legs had some fluid in them. My arms are still a bit swollen from just below the elbows on up. Stomach isn't as bloated but still a little. Arm mobility still limited. Otherwise I am healing really well and the soreness gets less and less.

Anyone else have issues with bloat/edema in their body/extremities?

lago,   I feel as if my belly is bulging.    Can't decide if it's bloating or just chubbiness - LOL.    But it's retained to that area I think.

Hate me but I have a fairly flat belly, usually. It used to be completely flat but with a little age you know how it is… but most women even in their early 30's would kill for how my belly looks usually. I do make it up in other areas (butt, and especially thighs).

No lago.. no fluid issues here as i recall. But you are still healing and alll of this is a process. Waiting for the chemo is impt and think all of the rest may come down with that too in fluid retention. So much our body  goes thru in this process, so it is all takes time. The meopause thing for me had started prior to chemo and BC but it is another thing that i learned to work around and it is also a letting go thing... ugh!?HOW much we have to let go of I know!!!Keep moving and water drinking!!!

The menopause thing isn't so bad. It's just weird. I'm talking to the oncologist letting her know I'm getting teary eyed for no reason other than I think it's menopause. She's telling me it's natural to be like this dealing with cancer. I'm telling her I'm really OK dealing with cancer… this emotional crap is weird hormonal stuff… then 2 minutes later my eyes are dry. Just bizarre that's all.

and when I woke up all sweaty I was more "what the hell was that all about?" Really isn't to big of a deal. I think I had some sweaty nights before but just wrote it off as too many blankets.

But I'd love to get rid of the bloat/edema and swelling. My husband says it's minimal. I think my body is strangely shaped right now. Hopefully it will start getting better this week.
