    Jackie:  Nice quote today!

Lago:  I may try to make it if I don't get scheduled for any appts to the luncheon if RitaJean drives.  I may not know until the day or two before.  I am so proud of all you ladies to have raised so much money!  Congrats!

If you want to walk you can register the day of the event but it will be $30 not $25. You might not get a T-shirt but they will mail you one after the event.

OMG! Strides Against Breast Cancer Team Illinois Ladies passed the 10K mark! We are currently at $10,047 (+ the $25 check someone from my building gave me yesterday)! I think I'll raise it one last time to $10,101. You gals rock!

It's no secret I tire quickly of the omnipresent October disease of the month push, so when I was shopping today and the check out clerk asked if I wanted to donate to breast cancer (no particular organization, just directly to the disease) I simply replied, no thank you I already have it.  I felt a little bad, but I'm pretty sure she didn't even get it.

It better not rain....if it does we will walk faster I suppose!  Lago - where are we meeting up before the race?  What time?  I will have to get my shirt that day.  Can't wait to see you gals next week!!!  Don't worry - I won't torture you all and make you walk fast.....I will leave my fitness instructor urges at home next week :)

It rained last year and it's raining today so I think odds are in our favor it won't. I will be there are 7:30 to help set up. Anyone is welcome to come early and help. I will have a sign "Illinois Ladies" with white and some pink balloons. Not sure if I should make booballoons out of them. I will have this out by the survivor tent. Will know more on Friday late afternoon because I am setting up on Friday morning/noon too.

So look for a sign/balloons similar to what I had for the Chicago Marathon… granted you missed it last week Tongue out I will have my cell with me too

Hi all~ At the Making Strides walk in Neenah, WI this morning we got totally rained on but I am so proud of the walkers, supporters and survivors who stuck with it.  I got my first "survivor" t-shirt.., not a proud moment but it is what it is.  Good luck to the Illinois ladies next weekend.  I wish you sunshine and serenity.  Thanks for Making Strides!  Smile

I am excited to see you next Saturday. I will probably keep pace with you for 1/4 mile as my hip is being bad again (bursitis).  I know whine....whine.....whine!  I like walking in cold weather and even a bit of rainis actually refreshing. No matter, it will be good!

mdg - you can always walk backwards.  Maybe then we'll be able to keep up.

C-squared - That's quite a ways up north.  I just got back from a conference in Milwaukee.

I'm rather bummed and slightly freaked.  I had to go off anastrozole three weeks ago because of my vision issues.  Will have to be off until my ophthalmologist clears me after two more tests.  I don't see him until mid November.  My MO is researching to see if I can take exemestane or tamoxifen instead.  Letrozole is out because it is too similar to anastrozole.  Not cool to have blown through 50% of the antihormonal options in only 6 months.  My tumor was a solid Luminal B and these can become tamoxifen resistant.  Tamox also has optic neuropathy as a recognized, though very rare, SE.    So I need exemestane to work for me.  On the good side, it feels great to have estrogen returning in my body with my hands and eyes healing.

    Good idea Doxie!

ANyone driving in for the walk from the far west burbs?  I am....anyone want to drive with me?  I probably won't be able to stay for the lunch. We leave on vacation to the Bahamas (yea!) the next day and I will be running around packing I imagine.  PM me if you want to drive together.
