"Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves
of strength that will endure as long as life lasts. There is
something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of
nature -- the assurance that dawn comes after night, and
    spring after winter."

Hi All!  Just checking in.  I survived the hurricane in the Bahamas and got home yesterday as scheduled which shocked me!  We had a fun time despite the bad weather for a few days.  We did manage to get some sun and swim.  It was especially nice spending time together as a family.

I just wanted to say that the Strides walk was so fun.  I really had a great time walking with all of you girls.  I hope all of you are doing well.  I am glad the sun is shining today!  Too bad the pretty leaves are almost gone around here.  Sending prayers for those still in active treatment and to those that have family in the storm's path.  Have a great week everyone!!!

Happy birthday a day late, Joan.  Lago:  Thanks for the good info on the MO questions. I go for my three month check up (a month late due to her/my schedule conflicts) next week.  She routinely will be ordering the Vit. D counts.  Nervous about the dexascan results.

Just want to say thanks for the birthday greetings.  Crazy week here dealing with the affects of Sandy on the travel industry.  Makes us feel grateful for our chilly, windy, but sunny weather here in Chicago.  I have a post-op with my PS tomorrow at NW and hope to get rid of my drain.  Uggh!  Wishing you all well and hoping to see many of you at the party on Saturday.

Oh Onward... I am so sorry about your loss.  I keep asking myself "why, oh why, can't we find the cure?"  May your memories bring you some peace.

Hi Ladies, American Cancer Society is trying to get together some current breast cancer girls from our area to be trained to volunteer to take calls from ladies just diagnosed. Kindof what we are doing online, just on the phone. If you are interested, give Deb a call.

Caryn, I'm not sure if I got back to you, but I would love it if anyone else from Breast Cancer.org would like to be involved in our Reach program.  Let me know and I can add them to the list of invitees! Debbie

Onward - so sad about your friend who died from BC.

Joan - hope the drain comes out soon.  I had an LX so didn't have to deal with one.  Years ago I took care of an elderly neighbor immediately after an MX and had to help her with her drains so I understand the desire to get them out.

C² Your lashes will fall out again in cycles because they came in all at the same time. It takes a while for them to all be on different cycles. Granted mine ended up being thinner due to Anastrozole but I'm never without lashes anymore.

That just makes me so sad!  They were so long and full (pre CA too).  But, can I count on the same happening with the hair on my legs?  Laughing lolololol!!!

I never lost my lashes a second time and I would love to lose the hair on my legs again.....wouldn't that be great???

I know about the lash cycle but I am still secretly (well, not any longer) hoping that they don't go again. Lost them a few weeks into my 12 weekly Taxols (May) and then lost most of them again at the beginning of August. So they definitely cycled according to Hoyle ... When they grew back in this time they came in fuller and faster for me. Sure would like them to skip the November molting. Argh.

Hope they grow in fast and furious for you C-squared!

Grab Bag ... for Holiday Party ....

Okay folks clue  me into how this is done. Over the years I've been to so many parties with these types of things ... but I so want to 'do it right'.

    Wrapped or unwrapped?

Stealing game or just pick a number or something else?

What types of gifts have been brought in the past so I can get an idea of how you ladies 'do it' :-)

I'm so looking forward to meeting all the gals that will be there on Saturday.

And today I found out my in-laws (Rockford) and brother-in-law (visiting them from Michigan) want to meet us in Shaumburg on Saturday for an early dinner to celebrate my b-day since husband is flying out on Sunday! LOL. I plan on being sufficiently FULL when I leave Maggiano's. But I'll watch everyone else in my family eat ;-)

Oh ... and do you dress up for the holiday and if so, which holiday? <grin>

    Diana

PS. Michele - my name on the invite list has an extra 'i' in it. Not certain if that matters or not.
