    Hi ladies!

I've been hiding but I've recently been threatened with a wound vac, has anyone here had one? It has me mildly terrified and I'm posting all over the place to see what I can learn.

Compassion is the basis of all truthful relationship:  it means being present with love--for ourselves and for all life, including animals, fish, birds, and trees.  Compassion is bringing our deepest truth into our actions, no matter how much the world seems to resist, because that is ultimately what we have to give this world and one another.

Heidi...I don't have an answer to your question but I'm sure someone does so keep checking.  I'm just here a lot earlier than I usually come.  I hope you will even consider staying around.  These ladies are wonderful at hand holding, helping with answers and just being here for you on a journey that can present difficulties and feel a little rugged now and then.

    Peace and love

    Hi buddy!

i have not moved, just not checking in here so often as the years go by. We've been in the same house for almost 39 years.yikes! Is that boring, or just stable? So glad you had the MRI.

Donnadio has moved, I think to Arizona maybe? Anyway, out west somewhere, though she still stops in here once in awhile. Look for her on Facebook.

Heidi, the wound vac is just a little device  for collecting the drainage if any, after surgery. They don't always know for sure if they will use it until they are actually doing the surgery. They will show you how to empty it, and once the amount is small enough they can remove the drains. Very common, and manageable, but a nuisance after surgery.

I'm off soon to South Africa to visit my DD's in laws. With the latest news from there, it should be an even more interesting trip! Hope to see some animals!

Hugs to all, especially those in treatment. i think of you all everyday with great fondness.

    Hi buddy,

Living in the same house for the last 39 years. I just dont check in here as often, after so long. It's been almost 8 years since I was in treatment. I think Donna moved out west, maybe Arizona? Look for her on Facebook. Glad you had the MRI, and hope you get some answers and you feel better soon.

Heidi, the wound vac is just a small device to collect the drainage after surgery. It is very simple, and the nurse will show you what to do. I ended up not needing it, but many do. Once the drainage amount is small enough, they know they can remove the drain.

Hey Kater, I'll be thinking of you on the 12th from South Africa. I'm going there tomorrow to visit my DD's in laws. Won't be back until after Christmas, and probably won't be able to check in here. Fingers crossed, and I'll check in for  New years!

    hugs to all

Heidi I think Smerf sid it pretty well it's another inconvenience of sorts but it will take out infection if it is there and suck it right out. Like smerf said it'll be fine and the nurse will explain everything

In arriving at a decision in a question of doubt, the apostles
in the Acts were guided solely by their sense of the Spirit behind
the action, not by any speculations as to consequences which

Good morning today.  There isn't a sun out -- not too sure there will be, but even if quite chilly it is a beautiful day   and we will do good things today.  I did want to take the time to tell you.......that apparently over time, some of the bugs ( or what was bugging me ) have been managed at BC. Org.  Though I had quite a little storehouse of quotes written out by hand to type in here.....by accident I discovered.....copying and pasting is back.  Either the site did it or maybe my download of IE 11 did it.  So, just thought I would tell you that posting great quotes has gone back to being easier.

Means my spell checker won't have to be so hard at work.  That too has some great features added in.......the drop down menu on it allows you to add your own words.....things you might like to use that aren't exactly words according to our dictionary.  Also....you've noticed probably that often.....it will correct words that are close when you are doing emails....on its own.

I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday and don't have to feel too frosty.  I'm getting use to the cold now and not minding it like I did with the first major blast of going from summer to winter with well over 7 inches of snow the first day.  Life is good and I am grateful for it and for being here.  Enjoy your day.

    Peace and love,

    Jackie

YEA JACKIE! We love good news!!!!

Buddy...so glad you had the MRI. Sometimes it is that "not knowing" that is the worst! Hugs to you!

We are getting snow flurries as I type. It was really snowing hard about an hour ago but is tapering off. I can still see some grass poking through the snow that's on the ground. I'm quite fine with it stopping anytime! What's it doing up north, cammi????

Smerf....thanks for continuing to give us good medical advice. Let us know how your trip goes and come back and post again when you get home.

Heidi..welcome to our thread. There is no reason to hide! We'd love to have you join us. We have an awesome group here and the door is always open!

Well, I'm thinking about driving into town to finish up a few things and grab a few groceries. I don't know where all this food goes. It seems like I just went grocery shopping and that is not my favorite thing to do!

Everyone have a great Sunday and stay safe and warm!

Good Morning---yes it's cold here but no snow yet???

OK I figured out finally why I have so much trouble with the company's name when I answer the phone--The name is DFC--and I tend to say things like DCIS. DCI things like that. It's all the fault of everyone here so when I get fired, I'm naming names. LOL So far no calls today, Yesterday a few who had emergencies in this weather and I'm so glad they got taken care of--I put in my memo they have kids so the guys tend to go, but they did. Cuz one called and they were decorating and blew everything electrical and he couldn't fix it--and someone went right away cuz I was thinking bout the kids faces and I said so. I'm getting to bossy in my little PT job.

OK my day is quiet and it's time for snuggling with my Katie-Kat, I have to ignore her when I'm busy and she waits and then gives up--wow is she spoiled.

Remember be sincere whether u mean it or not--I just heard that.

The snow flurries have stopped in the north suburbs of Chicago. Maybe a ¼" of snow on the ground very dry snow.

Jackie thank you for posting the Roland Allen quote. With all of the decisions that have to be made with BC dx it is hard to listen for the answers.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Thank you all for your willingness to share! It helps not to feel so alone!

Nancy It's still snowing here at a good rate, and it's dry here too. I guess it will stop soon, if it stopped by you. What turned into a dusting, we got t least 2 inches. Maybe more??? I didn't go out by my kids have been all over the place--crazy kids.

still snowing out here north of DeKalb/Sycamore, We have gotten at least 2inches today

what is so aggravating for me is this morning my son called me from Monmouth College today saying someone busted out his rear windshield and I couldn't get anyone to replace it today, and with the cold and snow he couldn't get the duct tape to stick the plastic bags to cover it up. Off of work, no sick leave after my exchange and it will probably be about $500 to replace. Damn kid whoever did it Id love to have a few words with!

cateyz2...what a shame about your son's car. Monmouth is usually pretty vandal free. This is not the time of year you need added expenses on top of all you've been through. I worry about the younger generation. There seem to be many "messed up kids" who then mess up the lives of the good kids.

Catey....count me as one of your commiserateraters  as well.  My spell checker said that word with raters on the end is wrong....but I do feel so bad for you and equally distressed for your son who much go without the window.  I hope he has a good heater and can stay partially warm.  It won't be at all comfortable though.

Rita, I think you are right.  There are some who just delight in creating chaos for others.  Prank, dare, just meanness....can't be for sure and not that it makes it right at all....but these things do help us see what a good world with good people everywhere should look like when we see the "other" side at work.  I'm really sorry Catey.

Adey...a delight to see you as well.  Always a delight.  Here's to very healing vibes from the Universe.

Brr here today as has been the case.  Dh was going to run over to his brother's last night ( a couple of hours after we had gotten back home from Mt. Vernon, 23 miles away ) and apparently some rain was falling and deposited more ice on top of the snow, which had a layer of ice under it.  The snow on the first ice was the reason we were able to get out and about.  Even the 4-wheel drive is no match for a layer of ice.  He could not get up a hill......had to creep back down slowly.......backwards and found that the truck would only go backwards.  How miserable for him. He was finally able with someone's help to once he got around a corner and stopped so as to be in the correct direction.....was able to get enough of a push to start the truck going forward so that he could get home and onto our lane........and parked back in our drive-way.  He thought he was going to have to just park the truck as best he could......and walk home.....a couple of blocks.  Glad he didn't have to do that.

This first storm is really horrid and I hope we won't have a lot more of this ice with the rest of winter time.  Rita, I may have to stow away when you go to Florida if this doesn't get better.

    Peace and love,

    Jackie

    Thanks Ladies.

Yesterday I was able to make arrangements to get his window replaced. I contacted a company right there in Monmouth and since they would be unable to get the glass til Tuesday, they were able to pick up his car yesterday morning and store it in their shop so it wasn't open to the elements and possibly more damage by someone wanting to take the stereo etc. Just not to happy about the $380 bill I will get

Hey Jackie, we'd take you with us to sunny Florida in an instant! :-) Glad that Denny made it home and sorry it was such an ordeal.

catey, glad you have the car taken care of. That is one less stress that you now have. As for the bill to fix it...bah humbug! It should never have happened in the first place but it can now be put behind you. As for the college itself, I like Monmouth College. I lived in Macomb for over 20 years and several of my former students went there and got a wonderful education.

cami....your job is perfect for a cold day like today! You can stay bundled up and work from home at the same time. How did you ever find this job?

Buddy...did you get any results yet from your MRI? You've been in my thoughts and prayers!

Our youngest cat is pestering Dave (trying to help) while he's putting down the last of the hardwood floors in the dining room. Guess I'd better go rescue the cat!

    Everyone stay warm!

"In the midst of hate, I found there was, within me, an invincible love. In the midst of tears, I found there was, within me, an invincible smile. In the midst of chaos, I found there was, within me, an invincible calm. In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer. And that makes me happy. For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, there's something stronger – something better, pushing right back." ~ by Albert Camus
