LEAH>what kind of car did you get? I have to fight my hubby to share our 05 Mustang, its so much fun to drive! Wow that is scary about the limited time apts, never thought of it that way though.

CATHERINE>so hard to let your sister go huh, good to see you posting again

We leave for San Diego next week and get back Sunday.

Leah, what a wonderful post... congrats on the new job AND new car... the way to go, girl... Regarding appts far out, I do not think your explanation is the one... they may simply have a hard time keeping up with people's fluctuating schedules. The 19th and the 24th are marked in my agenda... will be waiting for your (good) results. I can understand the thrill of visiting LLBean, my favorite catalogue for linens and casual clothing... I did not buy all their colors for flannel sheets yet, but I am getting there...

I have been working hard on editing a problematic translation of, guess... a clinical study evaluating the benefits of local excision (LE) only vs LE + radiotherapy for DCIS of the breast... This is a new client in Maryland... Now I have to catch up with all the house cleaning, etc. which I did not do...

We did not have too many details about DH MRI, but there are some good news: the cerebellum does not show any lesions or shrinkage, the demyelinization spot on his right lobe (brain) is unspecific, therefore not an emergency (sic)... DH might have had a mild stroke, hence the (slight and slow) degradation of his motion functions on the left side, or this is M Sclerosis... which would not be good news, but may not progress too fast... the only apt he could get with a specialized neurologist at University of Colorado is Nov. 13... so, in the meantime, we try not to worry too much and enjoy everyday.  With all this going on (plus all my checkups which are scheduled for the end of Feb), I cannot tell at this point where I'll stand regarding our planned reunion.  If DH's situation is serious, I will stay here; il it is not too grim, I'll try to come for 2-3 days max (DH is teaching in the Spring, but not as many classes as this semester -- hopefully "just" thermodynamics), because I truly want to meet you all in person...

Hair is growing, but still very short and "wooly" feeling... no curls...

Well, I've got to go... the doggies are waiting for their walk. Glorious morning here, as usual....

Wishing you all a lovely week-end,

    Hugs,

    Catherine

    Catherine,

You are probably correct about the fluctuating schedules. It just has a strange impact on me due to how far ahead I like to plan!

I am so sorry to hear about your husband's issues. And having to wait two months to see someone. We all certainly understand how tough that is. But what is, is and nothing is going to change that. I am learning that myself waiting for all these scans, etc. So I will add him to my prayers.

I hope with all my heart that we can meet in February. If there is anything I can do to make that possible, let me know.

    Regards.

Good morning everyone! Hope you are enjoying your Sunday. Wow our little board sure has been quiet. I have been spending time at NoSurrender's new message board. It's very nice, check it out!

I'm planning a nice long couch potato day today, before heading back to the grind tomorrow.

SP stuff seems to be going well. Remember, originally we were only going to do it thru the month of September before trying to guess our pal. Is that timeline still good, or would everyone like to go another couple of weeks?

Enjoy your Sunday everyone. Talk to you soon!

Just checking in while I got a chance this busy weekend (two biker benefit meals at different places to help a lady biker). My SP sent me a cool art print of a Appaloosa horse! Thanks!

    Happy Sunday all..

We have been a little quiet, haven't we Carryn.  As for the SP, I'm willing to let this go into October now that the end of September is just around the corner.

Thank you to my SP for the Starbuck's card and birthday wishes.  My BD sister....hmmm.  Postmark is Corpus Christi again even though the return addresses have been out of TX.  Hehe...can't fool me.   Well, maybe you can...suddenly seems a little TOO easy.

Catherine, I hope your DH's situation resolves itself quickly and happily.  None of us need additional health worries at this time, especially about our loved ones.  I do hope that you make it to Fl in Feb.

Jan, San Diego!  I love that area, especially La Jolla!  Have fun.

Leah, it's hard not to think along those lines...I have the same kind of doom and gloom outlook many days.  I'm glad that something as straight forward as an appt next summer has popped you out of it.  I picture you in a hot red ragtop....hehe.

Marsha, with your surgery date approaching, how're you making out?

Hugs all.  I'm off to laze my Sunday away...weekends go by too fast.

Hi, all, thank you for your support... we hope Peter will not develop worse symptoms too soon (he has had trouble walking a straight line "sober" for years, and he finds it worse now, but is very active, walks, mows, teaches, drives, etc.). We are even dreaming of getting a VW Eurovan to travel around with our doggies through national parks, etc. while we can both still do it...Cool

Here a few pictures : the planter is my latest project (with the fence painted by DH this last June), plus a couple of cheerful pics (one of me taken by Marie-Laure, my sister, at the Botanical Gardens, the other taken by DH of us both in Rocky Mountain National Park, on our way to the Continental Divide...)

    I have to go now...

    Have all a great sunday,

    Catherine

@###!!! around for too long with no result to insert the image, and yet I followed the rules... popup allowed, photobucket open in my account, copied image code... all I get is an empty frame... I have to go back to work... Yell

Yes, the board has been quiet.  Good to read your posts.  Life does go on.  We, DH and I, spent 6 hours in the ER yesterday.  Severe lower abdominal pains(DH, not me this time LOL). Anyway, long story short, he had a kidney stone.  Ouch!  He is doing fine. He sure was in alot of pain.  Poor baby.

I have been really busy, cleaning out closets and cabinets that have been let go for ages.  I started in the guest room and moved to the kitchen.  I may attack the main bathroom today.

I am going to the coast with my BFF to visit a mutual friend from long, long ago. Through circumstances, we have lost touch.  Divorce, moves etc.  We are finally going to visit her.  We have been talking about it for a year.  My BFF and I both work as nurses in different hospitals and have a hard time getting off on the same days.

Congrats Leah on the new car and job.  Keeping busy helps me to focus on something other than BC.

Catherine, how great it is to hear from you again.  How we all missed you.  I hope things are good with your DH.  I am so sorry you have to wait so long to see someone.

I want to thank my SP for the lovely book and all the cards.  It is so nice to receive the lovely wishes and all the cute little furry friends, my favorite.

I am not sure I will be able to make it to Fl.  The airlines don't have many attractive flights from Houston.  Many of them go to Atlanta or Washington,DC.  I am not real fond of flying at best and not fond at all of stopping over in out of the way places.  Many of them get into Orlando at midnight.  Ukk.  Anyway, I am going to check once more and see what is available.  Are there any other close by airports?  Maybe I will check with Southwest and see where they fly to when their folks want to go to DisneyWorld.

Carynn, I am game for whatever the majority wants to do about SP.  It does seem like we just got started.  I would enjoy some more time to shop for my current SP.  So, I vote for going to the end of Oct.

Hugs and happy thoughts to all of you.  Love, Sammie Kay

Hi everyone! Hope you are well!

Catherine – I want to echo everyone’s sentiments that your DH is fine. Am also crossing fingers and toes that they somehow get him in earlier than planned. What a great idea about the van and traveling! DH and I have a 5th wheel trailer. We don’t take it out near as much as we should, but when we do we have a wonderful time. Our last big trip was to Yellowstone. I’m really not a big camper, but that trip was so enjoyable, we are hoping to do it again soon. Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Here is a little graphic for you. I normally use Firefox as my browser, but assuming that you are using internet explorer, do everything you normally do in Photobucket, but choose the HTML link instead of the img code. Give it a shot and let me know if it works for you. :)

SammieKay – I’m sorry to hear that your DH isn’t felling well. I will abstain from any puns such as this too shall pass, and just wish him a speedy and painless recovery. ;) The link for NoSurrenders forum is : www.websitetoolbox.com/mb/nosurrenderbreastcancer  It’s everyone from BCO. No one has any intention of leaving this, our mothership, just another nice place to get together.

That it for me for now. Have a wonderful evening all. Hope to talk to you all soon!

    Hi, sisters...

Thank you for your words of encouragement for DH: obviously nobody thinks it's "urgent" (unspecific spot)... he may see another group of neurologists to have a molecular DNA test for genetic ataxia (also a possibility, although remote).  We are in good spirits, happy to be OK for now...

Carynn, thanks for the link (the only one I did not try...)... your kitty is a bit hyper, here...

And last, but not least... I got a package from New-Zealand... don't have a clue... Just kidding...Smile  Thank you, thank you Alyson: there is a lovely, cuddly-cuddly white lamb made of the softest material, N-Z flowers to study month after month (2008 calendar) and a CD of symphony music by a N-Z conductor that I have to discover... I feel spoiled rotten... and LOVE IT !!!  Merci beaucoup, again...

    Hugs to all,

I have to keep an eye on the plum pie I am fixing for dinner since DH comes back late from teaching...

Catherine, SammieKay -- I hope both of your husbands are fine. I guess now is the time that we revert to being the primary caregivers ... Today, my dh finally has an appointment with an endocrinologist, following up on all the craziness that happened this spring and summer. I'll be going to support him, as he supported me through my journey!

Sorry I've been off the boards (reading, but not posting). I went back to work with a vengeance, with some big deadlines looming! And, dh is leaving for a five day trip to Vancouver to see his nephew get married, leaving me with our six year old and several 8 am meetings. The bus for school doesn't come until 8:40 am, so I have to leave him at a neighbors at 7 am - LOL! Things will calm down for me after the end of September.

Hugs to all and know that I am with you in spirit if not in word!

    Hi all,

I have been away so long, you probably don't even remmember me:)

My two sons were off school for the summer and I did not spend much time on the computer.

I am so glad to read your posts and hear your success stories, new cars, new jobs etc. You all seem to be doing so well.

My prayers are with those of you who have had some bumps in the road with your DH's. I wish them the best.

I missed reading your communications and got lost a little myself, until I finally logged back in.

I didn't realize how much I needed to be on this site.

Are any of you on the tamoxifen or A1's yet?

It is nice to hear you are all meeting up. I am sure you will have a wonderful time. Enjoy!

    Will be back later.....

    Welcome back GI Jel,

Of course we remember you.  I am on Arimidex.  So far main side effect is joint stiffness and some fluid retention.  Especially in my hands.  I wake up with swollen hands and stiff fingers.  It subsides rather quickly after I move my fingers a few times.  I have had to start taking my rings off at night.  Also, after I sit for awhile I get kind of stiff in my joints, but as with the hands, it subsides with movement.  Are you on tamoxifen?  or AI's?  Glad you are back.

Catherine, I love your pictures.  Your hair looks great and so do you.

What beautiful flowers.  Thanks for sharing pics.

Thanks to everyone for the good thoughts for DH.  He is fine.  Passed a small kidney stone after we came home from hospital. It didn't hurt him.  After the Demerol at the hospital, he never had anymore pain.  It seems as if the 6 hours of pain he had at home before we went to the hospital was the stone passing from the kidney to the bladder via the ureters, which are tiny.  Thanks for asking.

Hope all of you are doing well.  Twink, where are you with your chemo?  How are you feeling?  Any SE's?  You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I am getting ready for a new grandchild on Mon.Sept.24, Jack is his name.  Then, on Tues. the 25th I will be traveling to Houston to pick up my DS at the airport.  She will be here for 2 weeks.  Very excited to see her.  I haven't seen her since last fall when I  went to Atlanta and that was after the biopsy and before the lumpectomy.  Much has happened since then.

I am having a mega fluid instillation in my expanders tomorrow.  A little nervous about it as I have read on another thread that some have a great deal of pain from that.  I have obligated myself to work for someone who needs to be out of town on Thurs. Oh well, I have a high pain tolerance and will probably  do fine.

Hugs and love to all, Sammie Kay

    Hi all

Just got back from shoppping with DD, she wanted to show me the shop where she is going to set up the gift register for her wedding. We had a lot of fun. The preparations are coming on fine.

It was very hard to be a Secret Pal when everything, even emails all have the '.nz' attached to them, yes even hotmail.

Thanks for my parcel. It has to be from one of the PA girls that I know, cause Allentown is not too far from my Aunts. The chocolate did not last very long. Thank you.

The parcel brought back memories for my sister and I. She remembered getting chocolate from Aunty Jeune just after the War, evidently chocolate was rationed here for a few years. I remember getting parcels of clothes, my cousin is 2 years older than I am so my aunt would send things for me, it was wonderful. This was in the late 1950s.

Catherine what lovely pictures, your garden looks wonderful and so do you.

I hope all the DHs have improving health, it is a worry.

I must be feeling more 'normal' as I am beginning to think about school and this afternoon am going to a meeting. If we hadn't organised our holiday I could have returned to school next term which begins on the 8th Oct. But it is great to be able to have the time off. I take my hat off to those of you who are working.

Have been having a bit of trouble with joint pain but think a lotof it is the RA coming back which is a real bother. Don't seem to be having too much trouble with the Femara, how are others going?

     Hugs to all

    Hi Alyson and all,

Good to hear from NZ.  Glad you and DD are having fun with the wedding plans.  That is an exciting time for all. I am on Arimidex and awaken every morning with swollen hands and stiff fingers.  It goes away after moving them abit.  Also, after I sit for awhile and get up, I am really stiff.  But again, that subsides with movement.

I am home from the fill of the expanders today.  So far so good.  I took Valium preprocedure.  They say that is for muscle relaxation.  I have 480cc in each expander now.  He will do one more fill in 2 weeks and then, I will have the exchange surgery on Dec. 13. I am going from a D/DD to a small C. The girls on the thread for exchange of expanders say it is a piece of cake compared to chemo and mastectomies.    I am so excited to have the "girls" back.  It has been a long year.  Right?

Take care and love to all of you.   Sammie Kay

PS-I got the estimate from the ps for liposculpting for the fat pad under the breasts(thanks to weight gain with Taxol) and some sculpting  of the lateral abdomen.  It was about 3600 dollars above the cost of the implants and exchange surgery.  That is supposed to be a discount from the ps.  Then I will have to pay for an extra hour in the OR and for the anesthesia.  Does that sound like a fair price?  I don't really know about the cost of these things.  Just wondering.

Hi all.  Thanks for asking Sammie Kay, I'm doing remarkably well I guess...back to a little business travel and I seem to be coping.  The lymphedema sleeve is a pain in the neck, I mean arm, but so far so good (no signs of lymphedema).  I have my third (of 4) infusions coming up next week.  After the 2nd I felt a little crappy over the weekend (days 3 and 4) but bounced back by the start of the week.  Glad to hear the scare with your husband has passed (hehe...sorry, I know it's no laughing matter).  Kay, the SEs you describe related to arimidex sound very much like those I continue to experience that I attributed to Taxotere.  Congratulations on the new grandchild...September 24th is the birthday of my youngest (and most...um....interesting) daughter.

What happened to Marsha? You're either being very very quiet or you're making noise somewhere else.  Miss you around these parts.

Leah.  How's the new contract going?  You never did tell us what kind of car you ended up with.

Alyson, glad to hear you're starting to feel normal...I think we all are.  At least, our new normal.

Hillary, are we on for lunch next week?  Looks like the same schedule as last time, hopefully without the technology malfunction.  I'll PM the details.

    Hugs to all.

    All,

I thought I would have heard something by now on my new PET/CT scan which took place at 9 a.m. yesterday.  I hope I hear by dinner.... nervous, as usual. I want nothing to "light up".  Prognosis is terrible for people with my profile who have early reoccurrences. I am fully not expecting any bad news, however.

8 years ago I bought a Lexus ES300 (the one which is mostly a Camry). After test driving a bunch, I bought a 2008 Lexus ES350. Same car, just 8 years newer. It just fits me, and I have loved it for all these years. I couldn't see messing with success. For very little more than it cost me 8 years ago (at least at list), this car has so much more technology to it. Nav system, bun warmers and coolers, parking sensors to tell you if you are close to hitting anything, a backup camera so you don't run over anything.... no key needed to start the car if it is on you- RFID!  So I am happy. Hope I get to drive this one for at least 10 years! Laughing Should be here when we get back from Italy, as it is on a boat- the 2008's aren't really here yet.

Will be back when I hear something.

    Love.

Leah -- How wonderful to get a new car! Mine is 10 years old, but only 56,000 miles (I don't drive much) and still in good shape. I can't justify a new car until this one is no longer reliable. When is your Italy trip? Do let us know about your PET scan results, but I'm sure that they will be fine. I've just got this feeling!

Twilah -- Yes, we are on for your next chemo. I've got my first post-diagnosis MRI and chest X-ray that morning. I'll probably have to dope myself up to deal with the MRI so I might be "flying" through lunch!

SammieKay -- I'm no expert, but $3000 sounds about right for an additional hour. These operations are expensive! The bill for my SNB and lumpectomy was $30,000!

Alyson -- I never told you how sad I was that you weren't going to make it to PA this year! I've got joint pain, as well and I'm not on anti-hormonals. My onc says that it is probably from the taxol. Planning on wedding sounds like fun! I hope you plan to post pictures of you as Mother of the Bride!

GI Jel -- Glad to have you back ... we need you back on this site as much as you need to be back!

Catherine -- Plum pie -- how scrumptious! And I love the photos of your garden and you and your sister!!

Jan -- Have fun in San Diego? I seem to have missed why you are going, but I hope that it's just to have fun ...

Well, I've got to go and supervise homework. I'm watching my son and one of his friends.

    Hugs to all,

    Hillary

Hey gals, sorry I have been missing in action, I have been reading and keeping up with everyone, just a little out of sorts lately.  The closer this surgery gets the more nervous I am.  I am scared to death the path will come back showing something in there.  I know that is irrational but I just can't help it.  Then I get all pissed off again at the original surgeon.   I can't do this again.  Chemo and/or rads would just slay me I swear.

Sorry Twink, I feel like a heel even saying that knowing you are enduring a 2nd round of chemo and lovely Leah dealing with mets.   Maybe I'm just pissed in general. LOL  Your picture is so beautiful.

Catherine, sweetie, I have so missed you.  I am glad to hear you had a fab time with your sister and I loved seeing your pics!!  You look marvelous!  Keeping Peter in my prayers, hope everything with him is OK.

To the person who asked me to see if Leah had someone to accept a package at her other address, the answer is Yes the hubby is home.  hahahahaha

Sammie Kay, LOL on pricing the new boob job.  Hope you negotiated well with them!  haha  Ouch on DH's kidney stone, my DH had one too, you would have thought he was birthing a baby.

Hillary I am so glad to hear you are busy.  You sound normal.  And once again, I want to go to lunch with you and Twilah.

Leah, oo-la-la on the Lexus.  Good for you, you NEED to plan future events and buying a new car says "I plan to be around for awhile!"  And an appt a year out?  I love it!  Let us know the second you hear about your perfectly normal results.

Carynn, you must be done with rads right?  You never seem  to complain so it's hard to keep up with where you are.   Listen. don't worry about committing to the trip right now.  I can always bring a blow-up bed if we see we need it!  Let's keep the SP thingy going for awhile.

Alyson, I think you have been busted on the secret pal thingy.  A New Zealand post is a little suspicious!  You sound good tho, so glad to hear normalcy in your posts.  Retail therapy is the best!

Well well, GI Jel, I have really missed you and your wit.  You're in Florida right?  Hopefully YOU can make it to our little get together in Feb, if only for a short visit.  Where are you exactly?  Please stay with us.  So what you didn't end up with chemo in Feb.  You belong here with us as much as any of us do!  I started tamoxifen and am having some achy stuff and HOT FLASHES from hell, but other than that, doing OK.  LOL  Let me just say, I am not one of those who is missing active treatment!

Hey WildJan, I know you are in Calif. and am hoping you are having a good time.  Can't wait to see the pics when you get home.

Phyl, where are you girl?  Hope you are busy and enjoying yourself.

Terri, Hi to you also, what's happening with you?

Where is Vegas?  Melanie?  Pat, anyone heard from her?

    Love you guys!  Marsha

Hi, everybody... how nice to see you back...

Leah, keeping our fingers crossed for NED news... so you can enjoy totally your Italian cooking adventure and then your classy car...Smile

We just made a big leap forward: we just sold our Toyota Matrix, traded in for a 2000 Eurovan (Volkswagen) all Winnebago equiped for camping... we did not break the news to the doggies yet, but they should approve of it... no more fussing around pet friendly motels... and we are ready to discover America the Beautiful... just Colorado, you need 3 lives to see it all... the freedom and the pleasure to travel around... we may go all the way to the keys... next june, when Peter is on vacation.

Marsha, we are here for you and we'll be sending good vibes your way for an uneventful procedure... if you had a problem in your other breast, they probably would have noticed... if you have something in the making, it will be gone before you know it (I had atypical hyperplasia in my "good" breast, don't have to worry about that now).  The pain, you already went through... so you know what to expect. I must say, I am now feeling pretty good with the scars... less tightness, less pain and I still am happy to have a flat chest (the scars are gradually getting better, would I venture to say "looking good"?).  My sister brought me tons of creams and lotions (Weleda) for massages and it helps... not to mention it smells so good...

I am with you with the monumental hot flashes (and being cold in between...), but the onc told me that should get better in the winter... I do not want to take anything to alleviate those for now, I just take some advil if I am too achy (feet mostly and ankles).

Hope your spirits come back up... How was your trip to see your family and the stay in the boat-house on the lake?

Twink, so glad this chemo round is not too hard on you and you are back into the swing of things.  Have fun with Hillary (I'd love to join, too, but a bit far...)

Alyson, Hillary, G.I. Jel, Carynn, Terry... nice to see you post. Wishing you all to feel better everyday... Melanie, Vegas, Phyl, Tink, Karen... how are you doing, girls?

The weather here is absolutely glorious.  I have quite a bit of work to do though... but tomorrow I'll go get bags to put on each side of my bike to go shop at Whole Foods on my own, pedaling "useful"... The van is going to be our only vehicle, and for very short shopping trips, I can bike... as long as I "refrain" myself from buying too much stuff...

I've got to go... Big warm hugs all around,

    Love,

    Hi Hillary, SammieKay, Leah, Marsha.........

Thanks for the warm welcome back..... I appreciate it so much.

Leah, sounds like you have a nice car there, lucky you, enjoy it! I know in the back of our minds we think should I buy this?, should I buy that?, but you know what, if you can afford it, why not:)

Marsha, I am in Palm Beach, Florida. It certainly would be nice to meet you all. I will have to wait closer to the time to see if I can go, as my son plays travel ice hockey and his schedule usually dictates where and when we do things. Will keep you posted closer to the date.

Yes, I only had the first 1 and a bit of the 2nd one, of the chemo regime as I had an anaphylatic shock(sp) reaction to the Taxotere. Still lost my hair, but it is growing back curly.

So I am on the Tamoxifen now. Marsha I hear you about the pains. I have roving pains. One day it's in my arm, next it's my leg, then my shoulder blade, then my head..... I also get muscle spasms in my arm and something similiar in my leg. These medicines sure keep life interesting.

I am concerned about the potential side effects of Tamoxifen. I take a baby aspirin with it to try to offset any clotting issues. Not sure if it works, but it makes me feel good about it.

Well better go and get the kids to bed.

    Will chat some more soon.

    Best wishes......

    GI jel.

Ok, all. Hear that sound? That is me breathing again.

Everything is better than expected! Laughing The liver specialist said the RFA got the tumor site 100%, so it will never come back there! And there was no other detectable cancer anywhere else, except a hot spot in the outer edge of a lung that they are sure is due to rads and will go away in about 6 months. So, I am feeling pretty good right now. Pretty good?!! Make that feeling GREAT!

Ok, so now I can get back to paying attention to all of you. The new job has settled into a groove of typical IT craziness, with tight schedules and way too much work, so I feel right at home. So far, so good. Italy is right around the corner, so I am just hanging in for that.

I am curious as to all the husband happenings lately- it is almost as if they all waited for you to be through your active treatments before they had their crises. Isn't life strange?

Talk to you all soon. Thanks for the good wishes and prayers- they help so much!

    Love.

Hurrah for Leah...  what a relief!  I was wondering what was that breeze that woke me up early-early this morning... a big sigh from you, clearly...  Have a great day, sweet Leah, and indulge yourself in extravagant travel plans...Cool

As for DH, his balance issues are not new, just getting a bit worse, and "my circumstances" (as Twink would put it) woke him up and in 25 years, that's the first time he went for a thorough medical visit... he will be 66 next month...  We'll know more this afternoon...

A gentle day to all... I go walk Toby (8am)...

    Hugs,

    Catherine

Hallelujah Leah!!!!! Dear sister, we rejoice with you.  What a relief.

GI Jel, hope you can make it in Feb. for the reunion.  Would love to meet you f2f.

I am one tired woman tonight.  I worked yesterday and then got called back in at 7 last night and came home at 10pm.  Then, up at 6 am to go to work at 8 am today.  What a long day.  I didn't get home until 7pm.  All of our patients were nauseated and it took hours to get them home, but we did get everyone home.  None had to be admitted.

I will write more this weekend.  Still not suffering any severe discomfort from the fill of the expanders. Yea!!!!

    Love to all, Sammie Kay

    Hi everyone!

Sorry I have been away for so long.  I have been reading every morning before work, but no time to post.

Leah!  Have been praying for you to get such wonderful results!  I can picture the big smile on your face.  Congrats on the new car too.  Sounds like fun!

All of you with DH's problems....my dh is doing okay healthwise, but much stress at work. He finally had to have a heart to heart with the boss.  So maybe things will get better for him.  He has been keeping his stress to himself and not telling me.  I guess figuring I have enough on my mind.    I guess now my crisis is over, so I can "baby" him now.  Sammie Kay and Catherine....isn't that what we should do?

Wow, have I been busy.  I finally feel well enough to be back at work with full steam ahead.  So I have been going in a little earlier and coming home a little later.   DD is in full swing of volleyball season, so I head straight to a game after work 2 or 3 evenings a week.  The other evenings, I have been walking to try and shed the 10 lbs I gained during treatment.   I am now down about 5 lbs.  Yeah!   When we get home in the evenings the kids want the computer for homework, chatting etc, and I am tired.  So I haven't been getting on in the evenings.    So I have been going to bed early.

Femara is causing me terrible hot flashes!   I am just drenched about 3-4 times a day.  Keep a little fan on my desk at work, aimed straight for my face!

On top of everything, I  pinched my sciatica nerve and have been going to the chiropractor, which is helping.

I colored my gray this morning and am planning on going topless now.  My hair is a little over an inch long, and the wig just makes the hot flashes worse.  And it won't stay in place so well over the hair.

My DD was first runner up at homecoming.  We were so proud of her and she looked so pretty.  Such a big smile on her face.

Hi GIJel, welcome back, we missed you!

Twink, how are you doing on the carboplatin....you should be down to just a couple more, right?    Is your hair hanging on?

I came home to the most wonderful surprise after work yesterday.  A package from my secret pal,  who is now my not so secret pal.  I am not going to tell you.  But the package had the most wonderful aroma of lavender, grown with love from the sender!   And a beautiful beaded bookmark and a wonderful note.   You can guess and I will send her a PM.

DH and sons are cutting firewood and both DD's are at work, so I am home alone right now.  Just finished some housework.  It is an abosolutely georgeous day here, so Princess and I are going for a walk, in between laundry loads.

Hope you are all well this weekend.    Love you all!

    Terry
