Looks and sounds perfect Marsha! A quaint little town, a beautiful beach...even sea turtles! Best of all...Catherine to lead the cooking brigade! (laughing at the 'no red' comment...hehehehe)

Marsha, nice beach... Isn't that fun to make those plans? It could be so relaxing and fun and we would be alltogether... You probably know everything about beach house rentals there... with a big porch to chat in the shade (now, February is probably pretty cool and night starts at 6:30... so you'll learn how to make the salmon soufflé... ...) Can you swim in February?

We will have forgotten all about the red devil by then...

I am back from my first shopping outing in months... with my sweet neighbor, to get some lighter pants for the summer temperatures (I live in my jeans and T-shirts)... that was fun...

Well, I am going to do serious thinking and research to see what's realistic for me from here to Florida... I can imagine us all together with no problem...
Have a nice evening, dear friends...

    1. Marsha B. - flexible
    2. Twilah - flexible
    3. Phyl - pretty much limited to between Feb 24th and Feb 28th
    4. Catherine - flexible timewise... no idea of logistics yet (pretty far and doggies... may have to leave DH behind). A beach house with a good kitchen could be nice... we'd cook all together healthy and good recipies... with wine (even red...) and walk on the beach for exercise...
    and whatever...
5.Sammie Kay- flexible. All ideas sound wonderful to me.

    Catherine,
I was thinking maybe you could get a flight from Denver to Houston and I could meet you. Then we could fly on to Florida together. And anyone else in the Houston area that is interested in going to Florida, could meet us there also. We could have a Houston contingent. Just a thought. Flights in and out of Houston are pretty cheap. And there are alot of non-stops. I like non-stops, not as much hassle. I will be flying to Fl. alone.
We don't want you in the kitchen working on this holiday.LOL Walks on the beaches will be nice. I love the beach in the winter. Well if its not too cold. LOL
Hope you are having a lovely weekend. Hugs, Sammie Kay

Beach bonfire in Feb! How cool would that be?

    Yay Kim!!!

Hey Phyl, could you do Feb 23-27? That is a Sat thru Wed. Flights are cheaper Sat, Tues, Weds!

Catherine, check out Frontier Air from where you are. Denver is their hub. Southwest is always cheap to Florida from almost anywhere as long as you book in advance!

So does Flagler Beach look OK? I can drive over there and actually check the rentals out so no nasty surprises! LOL

As for swimming in Feb? Floridians think you people are crazy swimming then but everyone else coming down seems to think it is warm enough.

    I love you guys! Marsha

    I'll bring the s'mores fixins!

I think I could drive from here...Phyl and Hillary? Can't recall who else is in PA. Sandie is part of the March group but she's local to me and a hoot!

Luckymel...aren't you in Houston with Sammie Kay?

Another lovely day in the Lehigh Valley...not too much heat or humidity. The Japanese beetles are chomping on the petunias so I'm on a mission to annihilate this generation...mwuahahaha. Otherwise, a little reading, a little napping, a little bathing, a little of nothing...that's what I have on the agenda today. Hope everybody else is planning a relaxing day too.

    Hugs hugs hugs,

Good morning everyone! A reunion would be so exciting! Have we decided on Fl? If we're still open to suggestions, I'd like to throw Vegas (the town, not our lovely poster!) into the mix for discussion as well. NOT because of gambling, but for all the stuff to do, shopping, shows, shopping, heated pools, massages, shopping, etc. Weather in the southwest is fabulous that time of year as well. Depending on how many are going, hotels will often give group rates, and most airlines will have package deals with hotel and airfare, making it really affordable. Having said that, I'd be up for the beach as well, just wanted to put that out there.

Looking forward to a lazy Sunday. Talk to you all soon!

This is shaping up and very exciting... I would want to pamper you, too, with a few nice recipies that you may not know and enjoy... it will be wintery enough to inspire hearty meals for many... I vote for the coast (I miss the sea after Brittany...)... and walks on the beach (and a big fire to all sit around with margharitas)...
Marsha, what would be the closest airport?
I will need a sleeve for my arm, I guess, to fly with no lymphedema issues...???
    Well... I love projects...
    Hugs to all,
    Catherine

Twink, I have the same agenda as yours today... lovely... cultivating the art of "fare niente"...

Marsha - that date range is great for me. I'll probably come in late Sunday and stay thru Wednesday morning (or late Tuesday evening). And the location looks fab! I dearly love the volunteer chefs. We need a dishwasher tho (the electric kind)

Twink - Terry's the other PA person. She's about an hour and a half west of me. I'm also dealing with the Jap beetles - damn things. I sprayed my white birch and sour cherry trees last night; now I see them on my sweet basil.

    Gotta go take a nap!
    Hugs,
    Phyl

Wow! This is shaping up. I'm with Catherine on my preference for the beach. I do like Vegas but the soothing sound of the ocean, the sunsets, the long peaceful walks...Perhaps we could plan 2009 in Vegas?

Surgery was a breeze! I really liked my doctor. Met him right before surgery! I have been "peeking" at the new boobies. They look much like my teen-aged ones...without the nipples. I have had minimal pain and haven't had to take anything stronger than tylenol. I highly recommend this One Step Alloderm procedure, even though I haven't seen fully the final results.

New York has been an experience! We hate the roads here. Love the little villages!

I will post more later once I have the chance to read all of your posts. I did see where a meetin' is in the plans. Count me in! I am soooo flexible...

Oh crap, Carynn, I wish we knew for sure your RA schedule, we would try to work something out!! You have to be SOMEWHERE. The SOMEWHERE Bar and No Grill! Can you let them know ahead of time so thaey adjust you in advance? Tell them you have a very important meeting, you can't miss Catherines and Leah's cookin'!!!

I promise to help with the dishes. Or bartending, Or entertainment, I'm good at that!

Melanie, I was thinking about you yesterday wondering how that surgery went. I am so jealous! And Yippee, I had a feeling you would be available and flexible!

Pat honey, picutes will be taken just for you! Love ya! Marsha

Marsha - I know, I know, there's one in every crowd, eh?

I'm in limbo right now as they are changing my meds (from remicade to enbrel) so a lot of it depends on how I respond to this new one. Once we get the meds worked out, then I should be able to get a handle on my schedule. It really sucks too as the way it looks right now I wont be going to DH's reunion in FL in Oct.

I will definately keep you posted.

Dang it, a reunion is just not gonna be the same without you Carynn. Miss Life of the Party, I have a feeling! OK, let your people know there is a very important event happening in you life for like 4 or 5 days in Feb. and you need to work something out!! I know you were looking forward to Ft Walton Beach in Oct. so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. Love you!

Like Carynn, I wonder whether DH's would like to be part of the getting-together-a-year-later, since they greatly contributed to our ability to cope through all this (hopefully this is the case for most of us here). I realized that mine will still be teaching in Feb. so he may elect to stay home with the doggies... fortunately, we do have time to think all this through... DH always asks me about you all... I think he does not read the posts out of discretion, feeling it is something of a more private nature between bc sisters...
Well, it's 8, maybe today I will be walking at a decent hour for not dragging Toby in the heat...
    Till soon,

I don't think I can make this reunion, we have non refundable plane tickets bouncing around waiting to see if our youngest graduates marine boot camp. He still hasn't seen a surgeon yet to set up surgery! We lived in Jacksonville, Fla back in the late 70s when hubby was stationed at Mayport. I'm surprised none of you has mentioned maybe going to DisneyWorld or Cape Canaveral or even Ripley's Believe it or Not museum? But then I understand this is a meet and greet relax with the ocean kinda thing you guys are doing. I've been there (DisneyWorld) twice back before they added on the extra areas.

That's a good thought Carynn, about DHs.
    I am sorry you are having problems with RA. Doesn't seem fair after getting through chemo, to have to deal with that. Hope they get it stabalized soon. {{{{Carynn}}}

Thinking of you Belinda as you have chemo again. Hope it treats you well.

Put me down for the final chemo FAC on next Tues.July 24.

On a bright note, I have baby eyelashes. I put mascara on them today and they look so good. I will never complain about them again, after being lashless.

Happy thoughts to all, Sammie Kay

    Put me down as tentative.

Sammie Kay congrats on the lashes. Just last night I was wondering why I still have no hair anywhere on my heard but I was shaving my legs!

    Gotta run

I doubt my husband would want to join us...not that he's anti-social and as Catherine says, he often asks about you all ... I need him home to take care of the ranch (and dogs, and teenagers, and cats). I'll check to see what he thinks.

Congrats on the lashes Sammie Kay...mascara yet! I couldn't put mascara on mine, they're so short and mostly pointing the wrong way. I think it might be dangerous.

Twilah, you're the first person I've heard say their eyelashes are pointing the wrong way - mine also do that, and are somewhat curly. They also don't grow in a straight line like they used to. Glad to know I'm not alone.

I would love to come meet all my Feb. sisters in February, but would have to say I'm tentative at best. With a bit of luck, I may be having my reconstruction about then. I certainly would hate to rule it out, though, so I won't say no.

I would prefer no guys. I think of this like a live support group where it would be saft to say or do just about anything. I think the spouses would bring a whole different tenor to the time we spend together. Just my two cents... I will come alone no matter what.
