Roula there are some good things about having it not end. Estrogen is protective of your bones, heart, etc. When you are ready you'll stop.

Lago - you always have a way of looking at the bright side of things. You are the opposite of me, very happy to have your optimistic perspective to counter balance my pessimistic outlook on lifes little gifts.

Actually Roula I'm not.  I'm a realist. I'm also designer. I look at things in all perspectives. It's the only way to truly understand anything. Can't solve the problem without all the information.

So the next time you see a designer turn something upside down and sideways you'll know what they're doing… thinking Tongue Out

RoulaG, Lago is right! Look at it from all directions and make your decision with all the info.

Um, Lago, how come I am picturing you standing on your head to get a better look? LOL

My last chemo was the first week of September and I started going hatless on Christmas so just under 4 months, by 6 months people started thinking that I had just gotten my hair cut really short (Undecided) - I thought I had lots of hair, but maybe it wasn't as long as I thought - I'm sure you can figure out which one was me Laughing

I have had a new and intersting situation pop up.  I have pulsating in my ears.  It was very loud last night and seemed to provoke a bit of a headache but finally went away.  I had one of these episodes a month or so back, but not as noticeable.  I thought it was the ceiling fan, but last night it was obvious that it was in my ears.   I only notice it at night when I'm laying in bed. Thoughts anyone?  I did call the onc's office.  She has just stepped out to the hospital, so they will get back to me tomorrow.

Linda, LOL, when you don't have any hair peach fuzz is a lot of hair! LOL

Rickysgirl, it sounds like tinnitus (no pun intended) . That is a side effect of at least taxotere. It comes and goes. However, it can also be a sign of high blood pressure, or blood sugar out of whack. so I guess you should get checked out.

Rickysgirl - I had that pulsating in my ears, too. I haven't thought of it in ages but when I read your post, it all came back to me!  It would happen when I was lying in bed (or sitting up in bed reading). I don't have blood sugar problems and my blood pressure is low. I sort of figured it was maybe from those little hairs in your ears being missing due to chemo or something. It was mildly bothersome for a while. I don't know when it went away - but it must have because I haven't thought about it in a long time. Another one of those weird side effects.

Thanks AmyIsStrong.  The onc's office called back this morning and wanted to check my red blood cells.  That's not it, I'm sure, because I know what I feel like when they are low and I actually feel pretty great.   She said I could wait until my next (which is the last) chemo, if I wanted.  I want.  Unfortunately, I have decided that the root of the problem is my other half.  I'll just leave it at that, except to say that I will keep my interaction with him at a minimum until this is over......and maybe then some.  My next/last treatment is 12/14, and I'm excited.  All in all, I haven't felt bad at all since #5, so I'm hoping that trend continues. Now  I am just anxiously awaiting the return of my hair!!!

Day 4 and I'm feeling decent.  Had trouble sleeping last night though, felt restless and tossed and turned quite a bit.  Anyone else have that feeling with TCH?

No nausea today, heartburn was the worst day 2 and 3 but is gone for now.  GI motility is different but still working alright.  I just feel very weak and tired, and get dizzy quickly when standing too long or going up and down the stairs in my house.  But if that's the worst I get then I'll be completely fine with it.  Hoping today is uneventful and I can rest well.

Happy Friday to all you lovely ladies!

ETA: Congrats Rickysgirl on your upcoming LAST treatment!  I can't wait until I'm there :)

Steiner it was quite some time before I had a full night sleep. Between the BMX then chemo and not being able to sleep on my tummy (or my sides for a while) it was a challenge. Then I would wake up to pee or have a slight warm flash.  I think that's why I would pass out on the couch for 2 hours around 5pm.

Hi Steiner. Like lago, I had trouble sleeping after my first one, ALOT , and it has continued but not as badly as after that first go 'round.  I am still uncomfortable on my left side due to the uni and the right side because of the port, so I move around alot until I find a comfortable position.  I will say this......when I sleep alone, I do a whole lot better (this includes the boyfriend, or the 5 pound chihuahua that manages to take up the whole bed).  I have the whole bed to myself to position myself any way I want, and I get an excellent nights sleep.  One morning I woke up with my head on one set of pillows and my feet on the other set.  But hey, whatever works.  I find that I'm always looking for a cool spot for my feet.  I don't know about the other ladies, but I cannot sleep with anything on my head.  I was advised to get a soft cap to sleep in after my hair was gone, but I can't stand it.  Even when it's cold out, I don't wear it.  As a matter of fact, I don't wear it at all at home.  Only if I go out or someone is here.

Hang in there.  You'll get better and things will become more manageable.  Oh, after the first one, it was decided a lot of my troubles were steroid related.  I still get them in the infusions, but was taken off the before, during and after pills.  I felt ALOT better after that !!!!!

    I'm pullin' for ya !!!!!!!!!!

And thank you, Moon, for the encouragement.  I truly appreciate that.

    Have a good weekend ladies.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I just got home from my 6th and FINAL chemo.  The onc doc said she expects no problems from here on out.  She will be putting me on Tamoxifen (sp?) at the beginning of January, for 2-2 1/2 years and then change it to something else.  This is due to my age a a few other factors.    She mentioned the possible side effect of uterine CA, but said she has never had anyone she has treated develop that, and she said there is a 1-1/2% chance I would get it.  She was very encouraging, positive and congratulatory, whereas the nurses could have cared less.  Doesn't matter, it will be A Merry Christmas !!!!!!!!!

Hope everyone else is doing great.  I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for all the advice, encouragment and suggestions you have given me over these last months.  It has truly meant a lot.  I got more support from ya'll than  got from the people around me.  Thank you all so, so much.

Rickysgirl - you made it!  I am so thrilled for and proud of you. Once you are through the rest of this, I hope you will stick around and share your hard-earned wisdom with the new women that (unfortunately) find themselves here at the beginning of their journeys.

Congratulations Rickysgirl… now let the hair growth beging!!!

Sorry I've been MIA. I landed a freelance gig that's 1.25+ hours each way in traffic… if I work late I don't even get home till 8:30. Usually though I'm home around 7:30. Enough time to eat dinner and talk with the DH. Glad I don't have to do this for months on end. Should end in about 2 weeks.

lago - glad you posted, I was starting to get worried!  But yay for the gig!

    rickysgirl - yay, yay, yay!

Did my fat grafting surgery yesterday, things went great - minimal pain, PS removed more fat than he thought I had, divots are filled in above my implants, so I am happy!
