SpecialK - yay on the easy fat grafting and good results!

dance - thanks! I hope most of it stays where the PS put it!

Me too! One hint/thing I was told - avoid any compression of the area for several months, ie. no tight sports bras.

SpecialK - so glad you are happy with the fat grafting results and that the procedure was easy. We all deserve an easy one once in a while
0 -
bren - yes, I needed a "good" surgery, lol!
dance - I am compressing the area where it was taken from only. PS was not familiar with Spanx - made me laugh when we discussed - he gave me a blank look until I said "compression garment" - funny! The area he added the fat to is pretty high on my chest, to fill the hollows above the implants so bras hit below anyway, but I appreciate the advice since you are familiar with the subject!

Congrats specialk! Rickies girl, wow that seemed to go fast, at least on MY end! LOL. So glad you're done! My daughter is now a graduated nurse and only needs to take the NCLEX to be a RN! yay! Much love.

PS not familiar with Spanx!? Mine specifically told me to get Spanx. So glad all went well SpecialK

Moonflwr912,
Congrats to your daughter, the NCLEX wasn't as bad as I thought it would be when I took it..if there is a Kaplan course available it's a good class to prepare for the exam..I took it..0 -
lago - the look he gave me was priceless, so cute! Now he knows what Spanx are! I just took a shower and saw how much he did - I am pretty excited, but now I really have to work on the thighs, lol!
moon - congrats to you and your daughter - I am sure she will be a caring and professional nurse!
0 -
Hate to tell you this but it's easier to lose from the tummy than the thighs. Just google it and you'll see I'm correct… but I have decades of experience with this.
0 -
lago - I have had success in the past with firming the thighs, but couldn't budge the tummy - I have more menopausal belly accumulation time under my belt (literally!) than you, lol!
0 -
Oh firm thighs. Yeah I got that but they are still big and still some jiggle but lots of muscle there. I too now have menobelly but I never had much to start with so not to bad. Granted if I lost 5lbs it would be gone… thighs, not so much.

Rickysgirl......
Congratulations.....
Before you know it you will be checking out the first wisps of hair and feeling better even sooner....
Wonderful news.....0 -
Rickysgirl, congratulations!!! That has to be the best feeling ever, I can't wait to be on my last treatment too
SpecialK, I'm glad you're pleased with your fat grafting results! I think I'll probably need some too because I've got some indentations on my upper left chest into my armpit where the cancer/nodes was removed. I sure as heck won't mind losing some fat from my abdoment to take care of that! I was thinking of doing a DIEP reconstruction but am just too chicken to endure that much surgery for a flatter tummy. Once I get past my treatment I am going to take exercise/fitness seriously again and get my body (and health!) back where I need to be. Not just for how I look, but to prevent future disease.
Moon, congrats to your daughter! I went to nursing school and was 3 years in to my BSN when I decided nursing just wasn't for me so I switched majors. It takes a very special person to be a nurse, I couldn't do it. I'm sure you're proud of her!

Thanks all, I'll pass on the good wishes to my daughter. But I am so jealous of all of you who have the reconstruction done or almost. It's a full year for me and I am worse off than right after surgery. Still lopsided since the second TE removal. They won't even start filling the TE that is still in for probably a year. Possibly at six months but I think that was to humor me, cause they just said we'll see when I asked. Sigh. My ortho won't talk about my knees either, I think he wants to see if I can get the breast implants to last. As he said, its easier to live without a breast implant when you have to remove it, then it is to live with a knee implant removal. Um, yeah.....

moon - I know it is hard to hang in there - particularly when you have had recon challenges. Not sure if it will make you feel any better but I am still working on this and I was diagnosed 14 months before you - it is such a process and it is so hard to be patient! At the one-year point I had just finished chemo and just had the left TE put back in, no fills yet on the right - I know what you are feeling! I am sorry that you are looking forward to the knee replacements on top of the BC recon stuff - it must be making this feel endless for you. Hugs to you!

Sorry, didn't mean to whine, but it just gets so long! Oh well. But it makes it hard to get back to work. I am feeling better, and.if I could stand or walk, I'd be back at work. Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it! LOL

moon - it isn't really whining - you have a right to be disappointed! Waiting for this stuff is hard!

Sitting in the chair now getting my last tch! Of course i still have gobs of herceptin tx to do still, but at least the bad part is done! Yeah! I felt really bad after #5, so they are making me come back friday for fluids to stay ahead of the bad stuff. Hopefully it helps!

Yay Damiana! That is awesome!

Boy do I remember my last TC day, celebrate this wonderful day!!!! Enjoy and hope your weather is nice enough and you feel good enough to go out and play 😊

Congratulations Damiana. Herceptin is NOTHING like TCH. So much easier, no comparison. Be proud of yourself. I consider going through treatment to be my greatest achievement. (well, except for putting my two daughters through college - i consider it a tie with that). Hope the fluids help. And remember, each day you are further PFC, you are getting BETTER. It is different than going through the earlier ones when you get better only to have to go back and do it again (and again). This time you are getting better FOR GOOD! Enjoy the holidays.

Damiana, yay! Just get through this last one! Happy for you!

Congrats Damiana. I just had that great "last" feeling. And thanks Ashla. All in the rearview now, at least for that part. Steiner, we're right there with ya. Moon, big congrats to your daughter. Wanted to get in as much as I could before power goes out. Bit of a storm out. Would have been here sooner, but the last of the SE's are in full swing, so I've been kinda quite. Not for too much longer, though. A great day is wished to all you great ladies !!!

damiana it's time to do the happy dance!

Lago, what a perfect theme "happy dance" for damiana now and for all the rest of them to see the light at the end of this step 😃
It made me laugh and started my day off on such a great beat, thank you 😘0 -
Congrats Damiana!!!! That's great news! I hope this last treatment the SE stay minimal for you, now you're on the road to healing and wellness
How are you doing after your last treatment Rickysgirl?
0 -
Not too terribly bad, Steiner, thanks for asking. As usual, the bathroom is a frequent pit stop, I have no energy, and this time, unlike the others, I have had some bouts of nausea, but, so far, no throwing up. Not much of an appetite, and nothing tastes good. I have had some outside stresses, which none of us need, and, for some reason, a pesky back problem. It's like I've pulled something or have a catch of some kind. Interestingly, Aleve is not working. It always works for my little aches and pains, but not this time. Other than that, since it was the last one, I'm just biding my time, waiting for it to all go away, which I know it will eventually. I think Christmas will be out this year. My onc wasn't pushy about a flu shot, so I opted not to take one, since I have had trouble with them in the past. As a result, she highly suggested I stay away from people, since there seems to be a lot of it going around down here. I have put myself in quarantine until such time as I feel it's safe to venture out. I don't feel like venturing right now anyway, so no biggie. I think I'll just take this time and try to relax, collect myself from the last 6 months. It's all good. How are you doing, Steiner? I think of you often and hope all is going as well as can be expected.
