    Hi there.

Hello to Bonnie, Susie, MTG, Chevyboy, Erika, Kelly, and all others...

Just thinking about the antiperspirants...  I never used to sweat much, but now I sweat alot, and especially when I'm exercising...  sooo....   I have read that they just really aren't sure about how harmful they are...  and I tried all these other more 'natural' products, and the deodorants...  well, they don't really help... I still sweat something awful!!

just wondering if anyone else has a problem with this...

    Harley.....

From what I was reading it's more the antiperspirant deodorants more than just a plain deodorant, but a plain deodorant only masks odor is the problem.  I think most women need the antiperspirant to cut down the amount of sweating.

And you're right about being able to read where it is a big deal to avoid and not a big deal to avoid.  It gets old.  Wish we could get some clear cut answers one way or the other.

Yes, that is just what I meant...  I don't know how anyone can use just plain deodorant, since it doesn't help at all with the sweating...

So... you use deodorant?  not the antiperspirant?    I am thinking that IF it REALLY was bad, then ALOT more MEN would have breast cancer in their lymph nodes under their arms...

    Hello My Tamoxifriends

Just sitting here with my laptop and my sweet dd watching the Super Bowl.  I have to say I watch it to see the ads more than the game! :D

I haven't been on the last couple of days been super busy and then last night found out that a fellow bc sister at my church passed away Friday night.  We have a really big church and I didn't really know her, but I was still very sad to hear the news.  Sorry to be a downer on here, but I knew you girls would understand.

M, Bonnie, and Harley ~ I had heard that about the  alluminium in antiperspirants. I could wear plain deo in winter, not sure about the summer especially when working out.  I also was thinking about baking... I often line my cookie sheets and pans with foil, so I wonder if that's something I should stop doing? I tell you, this just gets crazy doesn't it?Here are a couple of links on the topic:

    http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/factsheet/Risk/AP-Deo

    http://www.cancer.org/docroot/MED/content/MED_6_1x_Antiperspirants.asp

    http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/03/01/health/webmd/main1361403.shtml

Like soy, it seems that more definitive research is needed on the topic.

Bonnie, M, Susie, Harley and anyone else ~ Be sure to keep warm and safe in that crazy weather.

Hugs to all and for those watching enjoy the half time show,

    Kelly :)

I guess we may NEVER know the facts about all this... whether tis safe to use antiperspirants or whether it's ok to have soy...   UGH... too many choices...

    Kelly,

I don't usually watch football... don't like it, can't understand it...  but this game was pretty good... so was the last playoff game, that got the Saints in the SuperBowl...     I usually watch it just for the commercials!! :D     I really liked the one with Stevie Wonder...   the cars...

    Good Night to my Tamoxibeauties

    Hi All,

Harley... Kelly.....M.......I use antiperspirant all the time.  On one occasion I accidentally bought a plain deodorant, and didn't have it on long when I knew something wasn't right.  LOL  And I can remember years ago hearing how wonderful this "aluminum" was that stopped the sweating.

I'm not a sports fan either but did watch a lot of the game.  Being from Ohio I should have been for Indiana but couldn't help wanting the Saints to win after what they went through with Katrina.  This should boost morale a bit.

We're supposed to get hit with more snow tomorrow...after this 20 inches.  I hope hope hope it's not too much more.

    Hangin' In There !

BonnieCool and waiting to wear my shades.  :o)

PS:   SUSIEQ    .....     WHERE ART THOU MISS SUSIE ????????

Time for a kitty to cheer us all up.

SusieQ.... WHERE are YOU??   I could use another one of those cute kitty pics!!

    MTG,

Yes... I thought the commercials weren't very good... but, there were a couple that were not so bad.

    Bonnie, Kelly, MTG, and all...

It is good to know that others are still wearing antiperspirant.  I tried to switch, once many years ago, and then again, after my bc dx...  just couldn't do it.   I know that aluminum isn't good, and not just because of cancer...  Alzheimers is scary too...   but, what's a gal to do??

    Kelly,

I live in the Myrtle Beach area, and we weren't affected by the snow...  but, it has been very cold here lately...  BRRR....  we have been having alot of RAIN...  and I think it's supposed to rain again tomorrow...   UGH!  Oh well, at least you don't have to shovel RAIN!

Hope everyone has a great day!!

    Bonnie

Glad I could help to make your day a little brighter!!  Cool

You know, when we moved to NC, our realtor helped us to unload the truck...  When he got to the SNOW SHOVEL that my dh had packed, just for a laugh, since it didn't take up much space, and I guess he may have hoped we might find another use for it...   our realtor said...  Hey, what's this??   We laughed and said.... THIS is the place where we want to live!!  Where they don't know what a SNOW SHOVEL is!!     We DO use the snow shovel, when we mulch our garden... so now it's a MULCH SHOVEL!!    LOL

    Hugs,

    Harley

You guys are making me nostalgic.  I loved snow days as a kid.  :)  My mom didn't-  she had to drive in it.  ;)  We don't get much snow in ATL where I live now.  :(

BTW, still no SEs from the Tamox but I have been really good at picking winners of football & hockey games lately.  Maybe it's a SE of Tamoxifen, haha.  ;)

    Good Morning Team

Harley ~ LOL! I can relate to the not shoveling rain... that's all we get here!  We have a creek right across the road from our house and our excitement is watching it rise and fall during the rainy season. As you know, I live in Cali so no rain in the summer! I've heard some wonderful things about Myrtle Beach.

Bonnie ~ More snow!! Yikes! Keep warm and safe and keep smiling! Cool

MTG & Harley ~ I too was disappointed with the ads during the super bowl.  Remember the old days with the frogs and the clydesdales for Budweiser and it seemed that Coke and Pepsi had competing ads.

Sparrow ~  I would be useless at picking teams for winners, so good on ya and I guess we could blame something good on the T! LOL! Wink I have a cousin in ATL, does it get humid in the summer?

Jeanette ~ Just thinking of you today wondering how you are doing... also, how is the sister on the "older woman with breast cancer" thread doing? Smile

Susie ~ Everyone is right, we do need our Susie fix and a pic! How did your super bowl party go? I bet it was fun!

Micheleboots ~ When I was in my late teens I went to Toronto and Ottawa. Both beautiful cities and I would love to make my way there again.

    Have a wonderful day all!

    Kelly :)

Kelly, does it get humid in ATL in the summer?  Yes, yes and yes!  :D  I actually dread the summertime here.  I stay inside in the AC as much as possible.  ;)

Echosalvaje, I was kicking myself about not betting $10 online before the superbowl.  That's an amount I wouldn't miss in this economy.  Then I could keep rolling that $ over...  I have a rich fantasy life as my DH often says...  ;)

I know nothing about sports...  it's all in the uniforms.  That's my secret.   ;)

I also rely on the uniforms to decide which team to root for...   LOL   I really wanted the Saints to win.  Their uniforms are better and they really worked hard and deserved to win.

I also know nothing about sports... I HATE football!  We watched with some neighbors, and Tony was laughing at me, cause I kept saying:  Why do they have to keep running the ball down the field and getting 1st down, 2nd down, etc....    Isn't the point of the game to get a TOUCHDOWN??   I think they invited me over, because I made them laugh...

Hi kcl65!  Kelly....She is doing a little better, but still suffering severe side effects from the 4X dose of chemo!  She is getting a better "team" to help her with it now, but seems like something ELSE hits her everyday!    She hasn't lost her sense of humor, which means a lot...But with just that one dose, her toe-nails turned black, her hair fell out, not to mention that she nearly died!    Man, what a screw-up.....they finally admitted to it, but she is just fighting to get back to somewhere near normal...We post on "Can we have a forum for older people with BC" And her "name" is "STILL VERTICLE" ..

Wasn't it great the Saints won?  That was a GREAT game to watch!  I like to watch Nascar, but that game was fun!   It's snowing here....still....All day yesterday, & even more today, but NOTHING like you guys out East got!  We only have about 6-7" this time!

Okay, my friend said "Tamoxifen & Arimidex are Chemo drugs".....that isn't right, is it?  I know they work slightly different, but I didn't think they were in the same class as chemo....Do any of you gals know this?

Harley44...That was funny!  Yeah, I had a hard time understanding Foot-ball also, and I usually don't watch it, but THIS time, It really was a good game!  If you think Foot-ball is hard to understand, try watching a Hockey game!  Man, when our Grand-sons were playing that, I was just "lost" trying to figure out all of those calls!!!!!!    And when my one Grandson got shoved into the goal posts, & fell, I wanted to climb that damn wall, & run over to him....I was ready to kick some little boys butt, Ha!    The team was sooooooooo glad I didn't do that...Wink

Okay Tamoxipals, see you later!  Stay warm! xoxoxoxo Jeannette

Chevyboy, I'm sorry about STILL VERTICLE, is she a friend of yours?  I have to apologize, I'm a little slow sometimes.  My thoughts are with her, how awful!!!

Haha, Harley, the men get all obsessed with stats and stuff.  We know what's really important.  It's what you're wearing!  :)

The Saints' uniforms were much cooler...  they couldn't lose!  :)

Jeanette ~ OMG!! Please let Still Vertical know that she is in my prayers and that we are rooting for her on this sight!! What a strong woman she is to maintain her sense of humor... I think I would be out for someone's head!! I had a good chuckle picturing you climbing over the wall to wallop some boys who shoved your grandson... my mom would probably egg you on! LOL!!

Sparrow ~ I grew up in an area that had high humidity, so I know what you go through. For instance getting out of a tepid shower and drying yourself off and then feeling like you have to start all over again by time you get to your feet.  We didn't have central AC, but my best friend had a swamp cooler in her room... what a relief, we would lie on the floor in the cool air listening to music!

Harley ~ I don't like football either and my son played for 4yrs when he was in high school... I seriously don't get the game and how on earth an hour long game last 3+ hours! LOL! Laughing

Bonnie ~ Awwwwe poor pup! Cute picture and I love springer spaniels! Couldn't see the big smile pic though!

    Have a lovely evening everyone!

    Hugs,

    Kelly :)

    Hi All,

Packing in all the baby snuggles I can get this week. We head over the mountains to north of Vancouver next Tuesday, for about 2 months, so I will be in total baby withdrawal.

Anybody else cutting their other-than-T meds back. I take Prevacid and have been able to cut it back to 1/2 dose (from 30 mg to 15 mg) because T increases its efficacy by 75-150%! I feel just fine on the lower (pediatric!) dose.
